    Very nice thanks for the help ... I went from getting 20 FPS on medium to something that looks way better running at 15 FPS higher ... amazing. I am using the one that says 33 FPS config and it looks great.

    nice eh..i know i could make it look better but that takes time when u want the same performance...im surious how many polygons persecond these card can handle...so i can adjust the drawdistance accordingly...but i think i already fixed that in my newest config...but yea dude try the highest config..and then set everything max ingame settings that isnt custom...u should get about 19-20fps dips down of course but it plays like medium and looks very high no doubt about it

    Hi ryane,

    looks really promosing... I am just about to play with Crysis on my HP 8510p (HD 2600, OCed to 610/700). I will try it out and let you know the result.

    Thank very much for your big effort!

    One question: Does it matter to use DX9 or DX10 for the configs?

    I really like the sunshaft_27fps config, but the drawing distance of the shadows and objects is a little harsh sometimes. Could you maybe bump it a little, without sacrificing too many fps and make it a config?

    I'm gonna play this game all over again thx 2 u :)

    lol yea i made a fix because it annoyed me also :p

    list what u want..just better drawdistance? and better shadows? thats it

    drawdistance will cost 1-3fps depending on how much u want...shadows will cost 3fps if u want them to look high.. well maybe not that much...im sure in total it will cost 4-5fps..thats why i made the config to increase perforamance..lol really hard to bump up IQ and drawdistance and somehow get betterframes..illogical..but the card can handle a little more draw with config 27sunshafts..it performs .8 better than colorgrading so i could bump draw distance up till i lost 1.8 on that one...not sure if iwanna do that even.

    ill make u a personal config be quick cuz im grabing a coffee and when i come back(kitchen) ill start making it if u describe what u want...like how far ahead is enough and shadows do they really need to be ultra sharp or can they be like medium/high

    dude i tried bumping up shadow to look wicked but its like give some take some senario..
    theres no config on the plaent that will give u the same fps as me and look as good...but thats because i took away a few things..i was selective..and the results still..well i cant believe how well it worked out..pretty simple config really..start low and add what u can
    are cards can only handle so much..and i think its a good balance..i know the popup sucks but it makes it more playable and the look is well good..

    would u rather have 10-20fps unplayable but no popup
    or 20-30 fps playable(barely in higher levels) but popup

    would u rather have medium looking shadows at no cost
    or shadows that look vivid but cost fps

    if u want high shadows and normal shaders just use the in game settings to configure not my config

    i fiddled around with just in game settings and dx9
    i could have object detail low, shaders high, shadows medium everything else high and get 20 fps..not bad but it doesnt look as good as my high config..
    like i say medium gets me 20fps avg ocd..my best config with resonable drawdistance and better shadows godrays sunshafts hdr, colorgrading(lol alot of big graphics addons) and high shader details nets me 20fps...basically medium

    i wouldnt play the game with that average though. i personally use the colorgrading one and in the levels that demand the most i get about 18-20fps so its basically the limit

    for the first few levels i can use my max config but i have to overclock really high 640-660 and thats pretty risky..i personally think its only safe to cd to about 550..i read somewhere about oc percentages and 10 percent is safe...but anything over 20 slowly damages the cards resistors..they fill up quicker and everytme they cool off it decreases there capacity slightly....just like turning your lights off and on all the time will and sometimes burn them out in hours...vs leaving them on perm..they can last many years..but as soon as u turn it of the heat diff with cause them to dissolve..

    It looked awesome.. but it's a framehit of around 3-5 I can't afford :)

    You are right - I much rather prefer some pop-in and a framerate of 25-30, than less pop-in and a framerate of 20-24.. The old config just plays way smoother. But thx for your trouble!

    I'm off playing the game with the sunshaft_27fps config (I might try out the color grading one first..)!

    I've got one more request if you have the time.

    I'd like a sunshaft config without shadows and the extra fps used to bump up the pop-in levels. Framerate around 27fps (same as your sunshaft config).

    I've always played Crysis without shadows and don't necessarily need them to be there.. I much rather have less pop-in or maybe sunshaft and color grading both enabled instead.

    Again - thx for your kindness :)

    yea dude, i was thinking of making a config with everything enabled almost very high, but without shadows,ill see how much fps i get without shadows right now and let u know if its feasable...i have pretty low spec shadows so im sure it wont make a huge diff...btw u can add slightly better draw distance without too much fps loss..but if i get an extra 5fp without shadows then i can max the draw distance...brb checking

    lol negative dude

    i did a series of tests

    sunshafts without shadows gains 3 fps
    add colorgrading and its down 3 aswell same popup
    add drawdistance of 60(veryhigh) you get 2 fps less over 40(medium draw distance) and with 40 u still lose 2 extra fps

    avgs 20-22 fps with colorgrading and drawdistance

    kinda like my max config...colorgrading takes alot of performance more than shadows

    imho shadows are way more noticable than colorgrading

    i think u can takeway 1 fps with drawdistance other wise its unplayable at stock

    so i decided for u...keep the shadows..forget colorgrading(cubans dont even have it)

    and use this

    add this into the sytem config your using

    e_max_view_dst_spec_lerp = 1
    e_vegetation_sprites_distance_custom_ratio_min = 1.5
    e_vegetation_sprites_distance_ratio = 1.5
    e_detail_materials_view_dist_z = 30
    e_terrain_texture_lod_ratio = 1.5
    e_terrain_lod_ratio = 1.5
    e_detail_materials_view_dist_xy = 4096
    e_terrain_normal_map = 0
    r_TexturesStreaming = 0
    ca_AttachmentCullingRation = 30
    e_terrain_occlusion_culling_max_dist = 30
    e_lod_ratio = 3
    e_lod_min = 0
    e_view_dist_ratio_detail = 15
    e_view_dist_ratio_vegetation = 20
    e_vegetation_min_size = 1.0
    i_rejecteffects = 1
    e_vegetation_bending = 1
    sys_flash_curve_tess_error = 4
    e_view_dist_ratio = 30

    i personally dont care about popup...as long as it plays and looks good

    if i can see a rock 3000 feet away but i cant play the game than its pointless...your gpu can only draw so many polygons at once, and it seems to be the weakpoint of our gpus seperating them from the nextgen gpus..speed is irrelevent with polys..

    like when i run stock at a high poly rate i get 20fps...overclocking speed nets almost no diff if the drawdistance is too high..meanwhile if its set low and every detail.

    Thx for the new config :)

    I figured out something.. strange. When I take the 27fps sunshaft config and change textures, post-proc, game effects and motion blur to HIGH ingame; I actually gain about 3-4 frames! :s

    I wonder, how is that possible??

    Ryan, I don't have an 8600M GT, I have an 8800M GTS, that is why I am getting a minimum of 45FPS with everything on high.

    Thanks for the config, though! It was pretty cool!

    oic lol..pretty funny man...was wondering how the heck u had such high framerates...i could make u a config that just looks veryhigh but runs well...not sure about 45 lol but better than 15fps..maybe 30???

    well ill tell u what u personally have to change..
    just set everything to very high.. make ur own config

    in it turn off pom
    set shadows to 512 vs 1024...not a big diff big fps diff though
    set r_ssao=0
    turn hdr to level 1
    set hdr shaders to 1
    set terrain shaders to 1
    lol everything else max...nvm mind any other settings that will add about 11-15fps avg to very high..and you shouldnt see any diff..if u can post photos pointing them out.. :p
    o and change draw distance for 80 to 50...well change all drawdistances to 40 or 50

    just download the file in my signature and use the betterdraw distances config..i made it for u a while back...just change the draw distances..and bump shadows to 1024 with mine make sure shadowjittering is at 1..and set shadowblurring to 1 aswell...that should be the equivalent to my card...cept urs will look alot nicer :)

    Will test this config on my older XPS M170 with a go 7800 GTX later on when I get the new GPU for it. The config I currently ran with on my XPS M170 actually averaged 31 fps in the benchmark test at 1280x800 and it looked great. Will try this config and see what kind of results I will get.

    Only thing holding that XPS M170 back is the single core CPU, though it is clocked at 2.13 GHz. Suprisingly Crysis ran really well when I tweaked it.

    I like to have an underdog laptop that still can perform well even though I have a new beast with SLI and a fast desktop rig :) Well the go 7800GTX is no slouch.

    i can make wicked configs in mins now lol...

    i tested soo many configs and diff cvars out..i know whats what and how much fps it takes off ...all cards are diff...this config is mainly for the hd2600..it has some issues if your thinking about it being a high quality mod..

    popup(need better drawdistance)
    shadows(kinda harsh looking shadows)
    motionblur(not here)
    those are the only things i feel i like but cant afford to put in the config...

    I feel like making a good looking config that just improves framerates slightly...but honestly cubans custom configs are fine for that..

    mine just speed speed speed...with very high features and the detail of veryhigh..

    like ive said many times...i put colorgrading..sunshafts..coronas..ultra high quality water..shadows that have a minimal hit on the gpu..godrays...HDR..edge AA... lol the main features that make the game look veryhigh..oo and my shader details are set to 3(veryhigh) for most objects..

    I want better shadows..i want better draw distance..but it takes away framerate and there is no way around this...i tested cubans config med...my max config is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better looking..and gets the same framerate..but if u know any commands that enhance performance let me know

    Actually I have no trouble with pop up at all. Shadows looks good even at 256 size. I mean I rather have pop up and a good looking Crysis running great than having no popups but severerly low framerates :)

    Be glad you can tweak and run Crysis that great on a 2600, imagine if all games could be tweaked like this. Actually many games can be tweaked I have tweaked a few to make it run great on my older XPS :)

    SSAO has a bit of severe hit to framerate, though SSAO is mostly noticable when you enter a house or building, not outside depending on other settings of course.

    Yes I think I might have a few other tweaks you could try out. Will post that when I get home from work.

    sweet thanks...i obviously took out as much as i could...i set everything to low and added features one by one till the framerate hit 22fps avg...not much i can do unless there is stuff to add at no cost...or tweaks to improve what i have...i looked at the massive chart that was made...and no really IQ enhancements i can add...id add pom but its minor and costs like 3 fps..

    Yes POM is unnecessery, only adds a little bump to pebbles and tracks that one can live without. Actually Crysis has become a tweakfest for me at least. The game is great I play it over and over again. Long time ago since I did that.

    my config is perfect for the hd2600..because of the fact that i started out at the lowest setting..i stopped at 27fps so users could decide what other things they prefered like motion blur vs better game effects...i touch volumetric effects shaders and shadows

    shadows i wanted to take out but i got them low enough that they dont hit the fps
    shaders are maxed for details and performance...they cannot be tweaked more
    volumetric effects...sunshafts colorgrading..coronas..i added just about every veryhigh effect..not much i can change there
    everything else is set ingame low..its up to the user to adjust the other settings..

    but yea this is a much better tweak than the rest for those reasons..two things i wish my gpu could handle would be...blurred grass...better definition shadows..but thats just icing..and costs 5fps too add...next would be draw distance..thats card dependant..my card cant render the same amount of polygons as a 8800m gts so not much i can do...its hardware related there..dunno.. in short this is the tightest config possible..

    i dont really need opinions anymore about my config...i need new hardware :p

    i kinda made it for myself..i personally like the things that are noticeable...
    like when u switch from high to very high...the first thing u notice is the colors are more vivid and realistic...colorgrading is a must...cant believe cubans leaves it out..
    next is sunshafts..nice but not ness..y..
    then id say detail..like going from medium shaders to very high...u will notice the detail on the trees is incred..and the wood rocks...makes it look like a diff game...so i left that aswell
    shadows.well they make it look realistic...hdr but no shadows makes no sence..so i put in shadows realising they are a huge hit to performance..had no choice but the lowest that they could show up as..still look better than cubans some how..
    speed...basically all configs lie if they say they have tweaked them expertly..draw distance is a static way of improving fps..low distance higher fps...i set it too low..im never looking 300 feet away when im playing the game..i look ahead about 20 feet..so i left it at max performance to be able to get the leighway to add the veryhigh graphics

    in short man im still working on it but im finding it near impossible to improve because i started low...i picked the main things that make it look pretty wicked..and wasnt left with much overhead...

    I think the best thing would be turn off hdr and add coronas..bump up draw distance a touch..add mtionblur and terrain shaders..and bump up shadows..for same hit

    Definitely sounds like you have optimized it the best you can.

    Hmm I have to try one of your configs on my 8800m GTX SLI. I have a great config now, but I´ll test one of yours for sure on it and see how it runs.

    I've tried tweaking the sunshaft config a little myself. I've only added stuff to the config - didn't change any values of the existing stuff except for depth of field. What do you think about it (compare your framerates)?

    thanks dude...just checked it out

    looks nice, i looked at the config

    the pop up looks the same but some how it runs slower by 9fps???

    not saying its bad..its just not working well on my hd2600 not sure why

    lol...man i new a newgraphics card

    i tried again..this time i really really tweaked the drawdistance..it dropped to 18fps...so its telling me the card is really at its limits..

    id have to make another config on the opposite idea...

    set everything to veryhigh, slowing take away the stuff that isnt noticeable untill 'playable framerates pop up'..pun intended...nice one eh.. :p

    the only thing is..moving rocks closer and objects closer so they dont pop up so soon..the engine will not render polygons behind objects..so no perfeormance hit..and take down the vegitation draw distance(major performance hit)..having extra trees in the far backgraound seems pretty dumb when rocks are poping up 5 feet ahead of you

    Ryane, I have a question:

    all your configs seems to have created for DX9. I play with Crysis on Vista.
    Can I use them for DX10 settings as well? Or I have to have special cfg for vista?

    OK. So the options in your cfgs can be used to run Crysis on vista with DX10. The only diff. is the perf. - id i understood you correctly.

    Just 1 question. If you have vista, why do you play with DX9 settings? DX10 wouldnt be better?

    Neither is "better", DX10 is just harder on cards, and with the HD2600/8600M GT being "Mid-range" cards, DX10 is a little tough on them. To play Crysis in DX9, you simply right click the icon, and choose "Play in DX9".

    By request, could you make one for all high, with some of your shadow editing? I need one for my 8800M. Do your magic, just don't keep the "pop-up" thing... I find it annoying.

    Thanks in advance!

    lol yea i could make a special edition for the 8800m..lol funyn **** testing it at 10fps

    all i need to know is what framerates you get all high at 1440x900..
    and the popup stuff is easy to fix..

    thing is shader on mine are max minus motionblur...not sure why it doesnt hit my card hard

    im just not sure why u would need a config cuz motionblur depth of feild and drawdistance are the only things that hit mid range cards..with yours i could prob bump up things ...but if u want more fps some things will have to go..

    ill change draw distance
    shadows
    and what else u want?

    actually tell me more about your hardware just be honest cuz it will affect the config i make..tell me if turning shadows high drops performance alot..or if shaders simply going to very high kills performance

    i knew exactly what was taking fps away before i made the config...with yours id start with only two tweaks...shadows and shaders...but then again cant u just set shaders veryhigh and shadows to medium..what fps do u get

    cuz myself i get about 10 fps all very high

    Thanks for all your help, bud!

    Yeah, when cranking shadows down to low, (from high), it usually gains me a good 15FPS. I usually run in DX10 with everything on high aside from shadows on low, and lighting on medium, textures on Very High. I get around 30FPS, but I am looking for a way to keep it looking that good, in DX9 if needed, but get around 40FPS, by tweaking shadows and such.

    Hope this is possible...

    Ej ryane0840, are you play Crysis Warhead? I'm disappointed by the performance - it's still unplayable when turning the shaders to high (gamer).

    Are you planning to tweak this game as well? Would be great :)

    What's the best config here?

    I want to try it but I don't know if the most recent config is on a random page in this thread or posted in the original post

    I have an HD3650
