I want to play Guild Wars (Guild Wars II when it comes out) and World of Warcraft. Will it play them and last a while? -
Ofcourse, those game arnt demanding at allll..
you will be able play them as long as you youre a teenager.
Nice system btw, how much did you pay for it? -
As configured the system is $1512 USD and I can only wish I were still a teenager. Thank you for the reply.

Ramzii, I see that you have an HP dv6. How well does that run games? Are the specs comparable to this?
HP dv7t
i7-720QM 1.6
17.3 1600x900
4GB DDR3 RAM
320GB 7200 HD
1GB GT 230M
I considered this as the price was pretty good but had reservations about the ability of the graphics card. -
Ouch, my bad anyways yes, exactly the same specs, youve got the bigger screen/resolution. Which I love but for practical reasons couldnt buy.
As far as gaming goes it can handle Modern Warfare 2 at max, really happy about that. So I think it can handle just about every game atm.
At these 2 models youre looking at I wouldnt look at performance (its everything you need and more) I would look at usability.
The Full HD resolution allows much more oversight than the 1600x900 reso of the HP.
Here you can compare GPU's.. the 230M is good for it. -
GTA4: Medium to High settings (Because of the quad cord processor)
Batman Arkham Asylum: High settings
Crysis: Medium settings
Bioshock: High to maxed Settings
Assasins Creed 1+2: I think near High settings im not too sure
The Lord of the Rings Online: Maxed settings
Aion: Medium settings -
Anyone know about Left 4 Dead? -

On the other hand CO2 will run splendidly on your machine at max.. damn I miss that game. You can handle COD4 nicely aswell btw, -

Games like civ4, railroads, Hearts of Iron 3... can I get by with a 4500MHD at low settings- or do I need a low/mid range graphics card? Would a 9300 GS suffice?
-

Anyone give me any insight how well I'll be able to play Crysis on my laptop.
CPU: Intel Core i7 720QM
GPU: 1GB Nvidia GT 230M DDR3
RAM: 8GB @1333mhz
Display: native 1920x1080
Will I be able to play it on high? Any ideas? Appreciate any advice. -

Debating on saving $200 now and just spending approximately that much later down the road by getting a 240m instead of 260m on Alienware M15x.
CPU: i7 720 1.6Ghz I think
GPU 240m vs 260m
Ram: 3GB DDR3
Display: 1600x900
Dragon Age Origins & Modern Warfare 2 are my most current games I will be playing and slightly curious about Crysis/Warhead. I know I can run it, but how well? How long before upgrading to a 260m will be necessary to play latest FPS games such as Bad Company 2 or playing Starcraft 2? I will prob upgrade to 4GB ram in nearer future. Opinions on both cards please! thanks -
You can try some of the custom configs for Crysis just google it -
