Will the uprade to 4gb ram and 800mhz help at all??? Or not worth it?
-
I was wondering whats an optimum Macbook Pro setup for World of Warcraft and what would that run me
-
Nope, it won't help.
You are limited with processor and GPU power, there is no problem with RAM memory.
You can upgrade RAM though if you need to (read: using laptop for Photoshop and demanding video/photo editing), but I suppose there will be no noticeable speed boost given your usage. -
How would my friend do running Bioshock with an Intel gma4500 hd and t6600, 4gbs RAM?
-
Best Foot Forward Notebook Evangelist
I'm going to go out on a whim and say that you'd a need at least dedicated GPU to run Bioshock at a playable rate. Please correct if I'm wrong but I think the Intel GMA4500 just won't cut it at all -
it should run on low settings. Maybe with some settings on medium and with low resolution.
check this out
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MD8k52RcW0A
and your spec is better than his.
And notice that the video is recorded with fraps which drops the fps. -
hmm well i tried it on med, native res, and didnt get that great of a performance so i turned setting down to low and i still only get about 20 fps. is this normal? should i not run it at native res?? i want at least 30 fps
-
I'm not a big PC gamer, and my laptop is far from a gaming powerhouse, but I'd like to know how playable Dragon Age: Origins would be.
AMD Athlon X2 ql-64 @2.10 ghz
4GB RAM
Raden HD3200 -
I have a Lenovo y550 with the following specs and I was wondering if I could run Assassin's Creed 2, The Saboteur or Batman's Arkham Asylum....
I know the CPU is weak, but yeah, what do you think?
# Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 2.13GHz Processor
# 3MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB Speed
# 4GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM
# NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M GDDR3 1GB -
Unfortunately, nothing over low settings (sometimes the lowest ones). You are limited with your GPU.
However, with some big compromises regarding settings and (probably) resolution, it should be playable. -
Yeah, you're right. I'm going to get it (hopefully) soon. Maybe late January. Maybe early February. It looks promising.
-
Well I have the 240M and Batman AA runs maxed out, yours should perform just as well regardless of your CPU because Batman uses the Unreal Engine which is amazingly optimized for almost the entire range of hardware devices. AC2 will be slightly more demanding than it's predecessor which means u will have to lower down a few details and The Saboteur is still a mystery for I have not tried it yet. Anyways the GPU is pretty good and u'll be able to enjoy many of the new games at decent framerates and solid details. -
Tinderbox (UK) BAKED BEAN KING
"can you run it" website says crisis will not run on my notebook it says my i7 is not powerful enough.
Anybody know if this is true.
Thanks. -
lol not true. should run fine on medium.
-
Now I have two laptops...lol sooooo
Games: Dragon Age: Origins, CoD: Modern Warfare 2
Notebook #1: ASUS F8Va
CPU: 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo P8400
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
RAM: 4GB, but running 32bit Vista
Display: 1440 X 900 (16:10)
Notebook 2: ASUS N81Vp-D2
CPU: 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo T9600
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 (but the sticker says 4670 lol so i guess underclocked 4670 matched to 4650? i unno)
RAM: 4GB, 64bit 7 Home Premium
Display: 1366 x 768 (16:9)
Now, at what settings can it handle without like too much stress to the system? like can it run it in its native resolution? and like high or medium effects (shadow effects, texture etc etc)
I've run them in Can you run it thinger and both passes the minimum but not the recommended cuz its recommended requirements are quad cores, insufficient ram (for the F8Va one, since running 32bit system), and/or GPU sucks lol.
Thank you for ur time =D -
ERMMM sorry add another game too....BoarderLands
Sorry ^_^;;;;;
-
Don't worry. Just in future, use the Edit function.
I can only help you with one game - Modern Warfare 2.
I'm running that at maximum quality, everything set to the max, but without AA, at a resolution of 1280 x 800. If you want to turn up the resolution, you will need to take down the settings, to get a playable framerate. And even though I'm playing max, you might find the framerate a little low for your eyes. I find it fine personally.
EDIT: I see you are running it at 1440 x 900. You might get away with max settings at that resolution, but if the framerate isn't satisfactory, then I'd take off Specular Map. That tends to take a fair chunk of the speed away for some reason. -
Borderlands is the least demanding so you're going to run it perfectly. If I'm not mistaking it doesen't even have an antialiasing option
-
Your second laptop should be able to run MW2 and DA:O on high at native res. Your first I would say maybe med at native res on both games. Oh and Borderlands will be the same I think on settings as I've played all on my previous Dell which was 2.4Ghz ATI3670 @1080P

3 GB of ram
Vista home premium
GeForce 8400M GT 1GB
system requirements lab says i can run it at full speed...i dunno about that. This thing is pretty old. -
Well I know my system can run MW2, but what settings should I run it at? It seems to run at full settings in SP, but in MP, I get what looks like lag (skipping forward a tad every few seconds), but I'm not sure if it is lag (had some troubles at my friend's house too)...
Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4GHz
4GB DDR2-800 RAM (dual channel)
Quadro FX3700M 1GB
Win7 Ultimate RC
Screen Res: 1920x1200
Thanks! If not at full settings, what's the weakest link (I'm guessing my proc?) -
You'll be able to play most of them on high-max settings if not med- high
-
it should run around medium settings. sometimes system requirements lab makes mistakes
-
Your cpu is fine and you 'll be able to run it on max settings
might have to lower the res a little bit though
ughh and sry for not using the multi quote thing i keep forgetting! -
intel c2d 7450 2.16 ghz
4gb ddr3

how well can it run trine and serious sam hd? -
trine- no problem
SS hd- med settings maybe with some settings on high
low med but you might have to lower the res -
Win XP Pro SP3
2.0ghz Core 2 Duo T7250
2gb DDR2 Ram 667mhz (think thats right)
Nvidia 8600m GT Sli, Stock Clocks
1440x900 Display
I thought about getting GTA4 and San Andreas a while back (already have Vice City on my ps2
)
i KNOW it will play S.A. fine but GTA4 concerns me. I know a lot of guys
who have struggles with that one.
And would I have to turn on Sli? -
Well, with that resolution you may get fine results with Sli turned on,
but I dont think you will be able to max it out with those cards/cpu power. -
for trine do u have any advice to get it to run smoothly while still looking nice?
atm i think its at default medium settings at full 1680x1050 and it runs fine but im curious to see if it'l look/run better at high but a lower res -
With an integrated chip, chances are you will have to do low, but at 1280 x 800. And probably about 30FPS.
You could take a look at this. It provides better aesthetics, with a framerate boost too. I think you will have to se the lowest level config, but that will certainly look better than Low. -
Thank you chlwotjd678 and CZX58 Shadow! (+rep), I got a mail ad about Crysis Warhead and saw its minimum required specs which got me interested and I might be able to push the capabilities of my tablet for gaming.
-
Will my laptop be able to run MASS EFFECT 2? If so, on what settings?

Display: 16" HD LCD 1366 x 178 -
Its up to you try playing with the settings until you find what's best for you
-
Should run fine on med settings. Im guessing med-high though
-
Nice, that'll do me nicely. Thanks

Can my laptop play Dragon age: Origins, Borderlands, and Crysis? And at what settings?
Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 @ 2.53Ghz
nVidia GTX 260M 1GB
17.3” Widescreen LCD 1600x900
6GB DDR2 RAM -
I can only vouch for Crysis, but I'd say High settings, at native resolution, no AA. You should be getting 30FPS+ at high.
Something you may want to look into is Eazy_E's Crysis Config. You can pretty much achieve higher settings with a higher FPS. With that my 3650 is pretty much playing Crysis on high, when vanilla Crysis only allows medium with a good FPS. -
Medium to high settings. Somewhere you will be able to put a slider to the highest settings, depending on average FPS.
Generally, that machine will eat everything you want. It's limits can be only reached by putting all maxed out and then adjusting settings where they need to. -

Thanks ! But I have a question. How can you be sure that I can run these games on high settings ? I mean where do you get your answers ? Because I've also asked this questions on GameSpot. But they really don't have the same answers as yours. Some say I can't run Resident Evil 5, some say I can only play Crysis Warhead on low settings. Now I'm a little confused.
-
simple, youtube
i watch people playing the same game with similar hardware as yours. Some i played so i know
-
Nice ! But how do you search them ? I mean what do you type to search that videos on YouTube ? Please I need to know ! Thanks !
