If the people here say you can run it on high setting then you can run it on high settings. Everyone here knows what they're talking about since this site is all about notebooks, some people at gamestop might know but you should come here first if you have a question about notebooks. And the 4650 is a high-end graphics card so there is no doubt that that card can handle those games. And just in case you want to see where your card stands with the rest of the graphics cards click the link

It's not that I don't believe people here. Just wanted to be sure. I'm also new to this forums so sorry if I offend you guys a little bit. I also asked this questions on GameSpot but most of them says that ATI Mobility 4650 can't handle games like Arma II, F.E.A.R. 2, and Mass Effect 2. So I'm also a little confused. Anyway I feel very happy about everyone's comment on ATI Mobility 4650. And thanks for the link !! Also I have another question, how well can I run these games with that Laptop ?

    • Arma II
    • Operation Flashpoint - Dragon Rising
    • Gears of War
    • The Last Remnant

Sorry again if I offended you guys ! :)

Yes, I know that you are using a laptop :D
Arma II - it should run fine around med settings but telling you right now that Arma II is very poorly optimized game
Operation Flashpoint DR- high settings no AA
GoW- high settings with some on very high settings
The Last Remnant- high~maxed out settings

    Hi,
I've started to play Crysis warhead on my XPS 1530(8600 GT 256MB) and the CPU temps are always at 61C. I have the Dell BIOS A09 and Forceware drivers 175.97. Is there anyway to reduce those temperatures by a couple of degrees and any suggestions on the on the best drivers to use for games would be really helpful.

    Thanks..

61 degrees is not so dangerous. If it passes the 70C mark then you should slowly start worrying. I have 65-70C temp when gaming

Oh it will run on minimum settings and no AA, and would still look like a powerpoint presentation.(or so i've heard) the call of duty series will run maxed out including a few samples of AA and native res. RE5 will also run fine on high settings(dx10) if u agree to give up antialias. No big difference with the AA switched off, I can confirm that as I own the game and have played it with the settings mentioned earlier.

SCII will be handled as i've read it will be optimized to run pretty great on medium end machines. Blizzard's interested in selling the game to a wide range of players, including those that played the first version of the game on an ancient piece of hardware and are not keen on upgrading their rigs. Bad Company II on the other hand will be pretty and will require slightly more power. Even so i'm sure ur notebook will be capable of making it playable at decent settings. For more info check canyourunit because the requirements for BC2 have already been released.

So GLAD to hear that my Laptop had a chance to handle StarCraft II. Anyway it's ok if I can't play BFBC 2. I still have a lot of games to play like RE 5, Dragon Age, or Prototype. TO BE HONEST, I haven't played any released PC Games from the year 2004 an so on. I own a low-end PC that has an Intel 82945G Express Chipset without any video card so I can't play any modern games at all. I only play games like BF 2 or COD 4 on a cafe. So I still have a LOT to catch up and LOTS of games to buy and play. And I'm EXCITED ! Soon I will be receiving my Laptop (on my sig). Bless PC GAMING !

I hope you enjoy your new laptop! I wish that i was like you when i bought my laptop.. i knew nothing back then so i got one with an intel x3100. :(
Even though i replaced it with hd 3450 by doing an entire mobo replacement. hd 3450 isn't for gaming too though :(

I'm getting a notebook to play aion with. Originally i was gonna get:

    TOSHIBA Satellite A505-S6985
    Intel Core 2 Duo T6600(2.20GHz)
    4GB Memory DDR3
    250GB HDD 5400rpm
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M

Then i found an acer for cheaper. A lot of the reviews saying that instead of a geforce gt130m they got a gt240m. If i get the acer and i dont get lucky with the 240m will i be able to run aion smoothly with the 130m? Or should i just stick with the toshiba for $150 more?

    Acer Aspire AS5739G-6959
    Intel Core 2 Duo T6600(2.20GHz)
    4GB Memory DDR3
    320GB HDD 5400rpm
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M

You will run it fine on gt 130m. at least on medium settings. Im guessing med-high though. the gt 230m is only slightly better so i don't think its worth the extra 150$. Someone correct me if im wrong please

Why use integrated when you have Hybrid SLI? Or is this another machine?

    Anyway, Crysis on Low at 800 x 600, maybe 1024 x 768. 'Nuff said.

Oh. But it's good to see that you have a good Desktop. :) Desktops are more powerful than Laptops. Anyway can you tell me some few modern games that I could max out with that Laptop ? Thanks.

EDIT : Nevermind my previous question. I have another one. How well can I run these games on that Laptop ?

    - F.E.A.R. - According to Notebookcheck.net, I can only play it on low. :(
    - Call of Juarez - According to NBC, I can't play it.
    - Call of Juarez : Bound In Blood
    - World In Conflict
    - World Of Warcraft
    - Sacred 2 : Fallen Angel
    - Bionic Commando
    - Sins of a Solar Empire
    - Jade Empire

    Thanks. :)

F.E.A.R- 1st one you should be able to run maxed out and the 2nd one on high~max settings. Don't worry. Notebookcheck must have made some mistake there.
Call of Juarez and Call of Juarez: Bound in blood - max settings or high~max. Another mistake for NBC
    World in Conflict- high settings
WOW- maxed out or high settings with many people on screen at once
Sacred 2 Fallen Angel- maxed out
    Bionic Commando- high settings
Sins of a solar empire- maxed out
    Jade Empire- maxed out settings
    :D hope this helps

    High settings flawlessly.

You can easily max out everything in the first place and then low down some of the setting in case lagging occur.
