u might want to return the latop and get the Asus G51VX , which has 15.4 inch screen and great gaming specs... P8700 , GTX260M... which should allow u to play most or not all games on high details...

Wondering how a Gtx260m And p8700 (2.53ghz) with 4GB of ram will be handling Bioshock 2? at 900p Btw :l

Bioshock 2? Mass Effect 2?
I have a lame lenovo T61 with 2.1 ghz dual core, 2.0 gb ram, vista 32-bit, quadro nvs 140M with 128 dedicated and 876 mb total (shared).
The rig might look weak, but it's churned out some games pretty decently. I believe I played Bioshock 1 on native res on high without problems, Mass Effect on medium-high, Witcher Enhanced on medium. Fallout 3 was a little clunky but playable on lower settings, and I ran Dragon Age @ 800x600 but medium settings and it was clunky sometimes. I don't need the game to look good on lowest resolution (honestly, splicers are pretty ugly), but I do need to be pushing 20, 25 fps ideally for a fps. Bioshock doesn't need the precision of MW2, so I don't need super high fps. Mass Effect doesn't need high fps either cause it's a 3rd person shooter.
Thanks
EDIT:
Forgot to mention that the "Can You Run It?" site does rate my rig @ passing the minimum. Not sure if it's 100% reliable though. -
You won't be able to play at high settings for graphic intense games such as Crysis and etc.
-
your card is considered a class 2 gpu and is therefore midrange.
since you have an hd screen you will probably be able to play most modern games in medium settings for a year or less. -
What resolution is that screen ? For laptops the quality of video isn't really good if not displayed at native resolution, at least that's my experience.
I think it'll run most games on medium settings fairly easy though.. -
I'm wondering how well/what settings will my G51vx-rx05 run Battlefield Bad Company 2?
4 GB RAM
260M
Dual Core 2.00 GHz CPU -
My Dell Inspiron 15 with an ATI Mobility 4330 can smoothly run the Demo of Drakensang at low details - high shadows - 4x AA at 40+ FPS. High details - high shadows - 4x AA at 30-35 FPS.
Does that mean I can run these games as well ?
COD 4 Modern Warfare / Modern Warfare 2
Dragon Age Origins
Resident Evil 5
Risen
The Witcher Enhanced Edition
Dead Space
Batman Arkham Asylum
Sacred 2 Fallen Angel
Prototype
Fallout 3
Dawn of War 2
Please answer each game. Thank you. -
-
CoD4 - download the demo
DA:O - no way
Re5 - download and run the benchmark
Risen - no, but the demo will confirm
The Witcher - maybe at minimum; there's a demo
Dead Space - I'd be surprised if not
Batman - yes
Sacred 2 - yes
Prototype - no
Fallout 3 - yes
Dow2 - absolutely not -

Hi,
Has anybody tried playing Star Trek Online on T61P? Mine is 14" with Core2Duo T9300, nVidia Quadro FX570M 128MB (64-bit bus :/) & Vista 64 bit, is there any chance I can get it running with decent quality? -
-
-
Native resolution is 1366 x 768. It's widescreen but I plan on playing on it. But 1024 x 768 is ok too.
-
Neverwinter Nights 2 - low, med without shadows
Company of Heroes - low, med w/o shadows
World In Conflict - low, med w/o shadows
You have another two threads open with same questions. -
-
Im currently running star trek online well at recomended settings on a bootcamped macbook air, late 2009 (2.13 C2D, NVIDIA 9400M)
Im looking at a new laptop would these specs show an improvement?
Processor: Intel Core i3 330M Processor 2.13GHz
Memory: 4GB
Graphic Card Name: NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M GPU
Video RAM memory (MB): GDDR3 512MB
Total Graphics Memory: Approx. 2263MB -
If I OC a 130m to meet or exceed a 240m , would it perform like a native 240m or would the physical differences prevent this?
-
-
The GT 240M will still have its 50% advantage in stream processors, so no, the GT 130M will not match it's performance.
-
Can my laptop run BFBC2 on at least low/medium settings?
CPU:Intel Core 2 Duo P7550 2.26GHz
GPU:Nvidia GeForce GT 130M
RAM:4 GB DDR2
Display:Generic PnP monitor 1366x768 -
Yes, low/medium should be fine, but you should drop the resolution to 1280x720.

** Thanks to LaptopNut directing me here, I forgot about it **
I'm looking to get GTA4 since it's dirt cheap now.
I've got a Q9000 (underclocked to 1.6ghz per power settings; does everything I need it to do, can push it to 2.0ghz) and GTX 260m (1gb)
Vista 64bit, 4gb RAM.
I don't care for eye candy settings, just average to be playable/enjoyable.
Verdict?
(i'm sorry i can't find an old topic with what i specified)
On second thoughts I might not buy it, Amazon reviews lists a ton of crap I must trawl through to be acually be able to play! But I would like to know anyway. -
You should be able to run it at high settings fluently.
Most CPU will underclock itself when not needed , it will achieve the 2ghz or even higher if IDA or DDA kicks in. -
I've been creeping the site for some time, and I love the courtesy with which people like me (read: unknowledgeable mouth-breathers) are treated.
Anyway:
CPU: Intel Core 5-430 Processor (2.26 ghz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M
RAM: 4GB DDR3
Native Resolution: 1600x900 (LED)
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I'm looking for some relatively light gaming. I'd like to play WoW on high (if not, perhaps, ultra).
Additionally, I might try my hand at some newer games (but not incredibly graphically demanding games like Crysis), so should this be able to handle, on modest settings, most newer games as well?
