Depends on the game , I think you should be able to play the latest on mixed med & high
-
-
WoW will run high on that card. just to give you an idea, the GT 330M will run Crysis nicely, mostly mid settings.
-
High settings is a maybe for me but I'm just not that good anymore at spotting detail, so I'll mix and adjust as required. -
-
In that case, 1 last thing, someone on amazon/gamefaqs said it's a bit more realistic, to quote:
-
The "FBI/SWAT" or whatever they're called in the game will be after you , no army ..
It's the realistic feel that makes it nice , he died on 3 star
For that price you can't go wrong but at the end of the day , it's down to personal choice. No offence but that guy doesn't seems to be good at gaming
And most people on Amazon are plain moaners , if you based your decision on Amazon reviews to get a game , you will buy one as they all seems to be bad -
GTA IV is definitely worth buying, in my opinion it is an essential purchase. Performance depends on your native resolution a little but I used to run it at 1680 X 1050, all high, shadows set to 1 and sliders set to 28 at about 25-30 fps, occasionally 39-40 fps on a Q9000 paired with a GTX260M. Patched to the latest 1.0.04 will give the best performance. Check my sig and you can see the in game benchmarks and settings as well as some great mods. Note that the in game benchmark is usually up to 10 fps lower when in actual game play though but it gives you a good idea. -
Thanks guys, I've made my purchase, looking forward to it actually.
My native res is 1920x1200 but I'll probably play it at a lot lower than that. As said, I'm not one to push everything to max to make everything look good, I'm content with being on average, since I'm a bit transparent to changes in terms of graphics. Personal preference, that's all. -
Hi, i'm wondering how my laptop will run Dragon Age: Origins. Thanks!

I want to know how well my system can run Star Trek Online.
Asus N81VP-D2
Core 2 Duo T9600 2.8ghz
4GB DDR2 800
320GB 7200RPM
1GB ATI HD 4650 GDDR3
14" HD LED display -
What's the best cpu or graphic card I can get to play bad company 2 on high smoothly?
-
well, you can't really get a better GPU, but CPU wise, I'd recommend the T9900 or T9600.... that will be a good upgrade, and work with your machine. Quads are not supported in your machine.
BC2 Beta on mine with a T9300 overclocked to 2.9ghz runs just fine. -

A store near me is having a huge sale on the Medevial II and empire total war today (in honor of the impending release of Neploeon total war) and I wanted to ask here because I've heard empire is a VERY taxing GPU game because of the massive battles.
What settings would I be looking at for all three games on a 17" monitor under a 1600 X 900 or 1366 X 768 res?
Here are my specs:
HP pavillion notebook
Intel I7 QM-720
6 GB DDR3 RAM
500 GB HDD
Nvidia Geforce GT 230M
Hoping a get a decent verdict!
Thanks Guys! -
-
Empire - high settings -
best CPU is T9900 but for price per performance , get a T9600 and overclock it... Its allright if u can't play the BETA since it is badly optimised but the real game will be allright...
-
Wow, that's great news! I was expecting medium. Do you think I could run something like Dragon Age on Medium on that res then?
-
o and for the total wars, i forgot to mention, you MIGHT have to lower the res a little bit.
-
Hey guys,
I'm just wondering, will this computer be able to run games like COD6, COD4, and Bioshock with maxed out graphics? How will it do with a game like Crysis?

And what would run better, this laptop or the Qosmio Q870 (same specs except; 720p screen res, 4gb of ram, 360m nVidia graphics card). This is in terms of gaming of course, I realize both these laptops will run school work and all that flawlessy.
If it isn't too much trouble I'd appreciate a PM for a response, I doubt I will be able to find the answer otherwise.
Thanks in advance!!!

Both laptops run GDDR5, so should I go with the Q870? Better graphics card but less ram and smaller resolution.
Thanks for your help -
But on the other hand, the higher resolution screen will also be slightly more taxing on the GPU, meaning you will have to lower settings if you want to play at native resolution. -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
running games at 1080p at max settings is a stretch for that laptop, to answer your cross post.
you can run games at max settings at lower res (720p) or lower the details and run them in 1080p. -
18.4" needs FHD, IMO. Too bad you can't have both, FHD and stronger GPU.
-
can my T5800 2GHz, GMA 4500MHD lappy run Dragon Age Origins? since the minimum requirements is a 6800GT, and every game that has a minimum of 6800GT means the 4500MHD can also run it, from what me and my friend have tested (lol?)

oops dp my bad

Check this...

ah thats fine, as long as fps stays at 25+. can tolerate 640x480 with no problem
thanks much Kevin_Jack and grbac for your replies

How well do you recon Bioshock2 will run on mine (16:9 display not interested in native resolution)

I think you can play SIMS 3 better than low because I have a x3100 and it could play it on low with 800 x 600 res. x3100 is a lot crappier than a Radeon 4200 lol.
If you want to, you can try asking whether your laptop can support a DIY ViDock.. There's a thread around in this forum that tells you how to make one. It's an external GPU. You would need to use an external monitor though. All the pros and cons for it are listed in that thread too. -
Hello everyone.
Just wanted to know if my T7450 [email protected] can play Bad Company 2 properly. I will be running it on my G50Vt so the 9800mGS should do fine for the graphics but im a little bit worried about my CPU's capabilities because i hear that the game is GPU intensive.
Thanks. -
The CPU is fine for playing Bad Company on medium to high graphics. I think your GPU will be able to handle it too but it's just a guess. See if you can still get in on the beta and if not they may release a demo shortly before/after the game's release.
-
Yeah i just played the beta a bit and it seems that on high settings with the CPU OC its just playable but if you take it down to medium at native res everything still looks good and runs much smoother. But its just a beta so im sure they will do more optimizing and it will run better when the full game is out.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare
Modern Warfare 2
The Sims 3
Prototype
Batman Arkham Asylum
Dragon Age Origins
Risen
The Witcher
Can I play those games at a decent frame rates on low or med settings ? Please answer each game.
I have Dell Inspiron 15 with an Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2.20 ghz, 4 GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 512 MB DDR2, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.
So far these are the games I can play on my Laptop.
Bioshock - Med Settings at 1024x760 = Fully Playable
Resident Evil 5 - Med Settings at 800x600 = Fully Playable
Devil May Cry 4 - Low Settings and High Shadows at 800x600 = Fully Playable
Mass Effect - Med Settings w/ Dynamic Shadows at 800x600 = Fully Playable
The Last Remnant - Low Settings at 800x600 = Fully Playable but gets a LITTLE lag when in town. But no big deal.
Thanks. -
I was wondering how long my P7915u would last playing very high/high's for ?
Gtx 260m And P8700 at 2.53 Ghz 4GB of ram and windows 7 home premium 64bit -
Sims 3- med settings you might have to lower the res though.
Prototype- low settings with low res
Batman Arkham Asylum- low~medium settings
DA:O- medium settings
Risen- med settings with lowered res
The Witcher- medium settings with lowered res.
hope this helps!
