Spammer? Because that system will most certainly not blow all games.

I think you are a spammer. Your signature certainly says so.

    i7 1.6Ghz, 2.8Ghz with turboboost
    6GB RAM
Geforce 330M GT with 1GB VRAM

Will I be able to play Assassin's Creed 2 and King's Bounty? If so on what setting?

Will I be able to play Diablo 3 when it comes out as well?

and What's the average lifespan of a gaming laptop?

    Thank you

    Assasins creed Medium
Diablo 3 for sure just look at the specs for starcraft 2 blizzard caters to everyone
Average lifetime of a highend gaming laptop is 1 year at max settings after that its time to upgrade the card

    Thanks for replying.

Just want to make sure, you are saying that I can run Assasin's creed II (2) on medium setting, not the original Assasin's creed I right?

Also, when we talk about the lifetime of a gaming laptop, will the laptop / hardware start malfunctioning after a year with max settings? And..I thought that I can't really "upgrade" the hardware in laptops unlike the desktops

Im going to assume your talking about Empire total war like your other thread. I play Empire at 1280 x 720 at all medium shadows low, and water ultra and i get a smooth 25 - 40 fps. It will slow down insanely when there are alot of units on screen due to my cpu but you should be fine

my guess is around medium/low. I have a 9800GS which is probably 1/3 better and I can play Empire on high. However, napoleon has upgraded graphics with a lot more smoke, explosions, etc. These added elements will be very taxing on your GPU so overclock but medium at best. Should've bought a gaming laptop if you're going to play napoleon.

I don't think Napoleon: Total War has their requirements changed at all that drastically. It still had DirectX 9.0b options available and it is still on the same game engine. I think if you can run Empire: Total War on high, then Napoleon you still can easily (albeit you might want to just lower the explosion effect, that's all). The HD 4650 is not a slouch of a card at all and pretty much if Empire can run, Napoleon can too in the same level.

PS: However, I do agree that playing Empire on 1080p resolution might be too much for the 4650. For a card like that and playing Empire, I suggest gaming on 720p if you want all the bells and whistles turned on.

I played HoN on a 15.6" notebook with the Go7700 with a mix of high and medium settings @ 1680 1050. You should be ok, that game was made to be played by anyone who wants to play.

Personally think more games should be made with this concept.

My friend said that it is way more optimized then ETW. I ran ETW on my machine at 1280 x 720 all medium, shadows low, Water Ultra and got 40 fps and it occasionally dipped to 20 or so when alot was going on. Im going to pick it up soon and will post back when i do. Your machine should run it on a mix of medium/high and water maxed.

Anyone crazy enough to try Mass Effect 2 on a 5700MHD?

The first game was barely playable on the 9400m. ME2 runs great and seems to be much better coded.

I am only interested in people who have tried it. All the rest is just BS.

Please PM me if you have tried.

    [update]

    on a 9400m 8*6 lowest settings:
    2010-02-27 13:36:13 - MassEffect2
    Frames: 5911 - Time: 194363ms - Avg: 30.412 - Min: 18 - Max: 47

Hi, I was wondering if my laptop could run Crysis at max, perhaps 1200x800

    Dell M1330
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 @ 2.00Ghz
GPU: ATI Radeon 5850 HD, running 20% slower
    RAM: 4GB
    Display: 1200x800
    OS: Windows XP

Or will the CPU "bottleneck" the GPU?

I don't know what you are thinking, but, 1. The GPU in the M1330 is NOT a 5850, and, 2. It is not upgradeable.

You have an 8400M GS at the moment right? In that case, Low settings.

EDIT: My mistake, I didn't realise you were going to use a DIY ViDock. Sorry. In that case, you should be okay for High - Very High, and if that's okay, maybe a little bit of AA. It's really hard to judge how the 5850 is going to perform with the x1 bus link.

You will want to play all those games on second laptop, Sony CW, as it's much powerfull. You can expect at least medium to high settings in most of the games of older date. Some newer like Batman, something lower...

One thing though, you cannot play Harry Potter, it's to demanding, your NB will burn. :D

Don't be too optimistic, that's not really a gaming graphic card... MW2 at low, maybe some medium. AvP on low definitely.

I would say that as well... You're a bit above minimum so low and maybe some medium settings would make you play it. It's hard to say yet though.

    Hello,

My old Compal JFT00 has just died, so I´m looking for a new notebook.
Do you guys think these machines can handle with fullhd movies and YouTube fullhd videos?

    * Rebranded MSI X340
    Intel Pentium SU4100 1.3Ghz (dual core + 2Mb L2 cache)
    Intel GS45 chipset (don´t know if it´s Intel 4500M or Intel 4500MHD)
    2Gb DDR2-800

Or this one will be better?

    * HP DV2
AMD Atlhon Neo MV40 1.6ghz (single core)
    ATI Radeon X1250
    2Gb DDR2-533

Neither of them will play HD well, but you could probably get by. The Pentium SU4100 will be better.
