If it were HD 5650 vs 335m then there would be no difference except the Dx11 but in this case yeah the hd5650 is better.

I'd get the lenovo especially if ur going to play games.. the GPU is non upgradeable but u can easily upgrade the CPU later... i made the mistake and i'm really regret it.

there is a lenovo with i5-430m , and ATI 5650 which should play games very well..

it will be allright and should play at 1366X768...u can get better if u tell me ur budget...

    yes they should..

they are about the same but in gaming performance, the hd 5650 is a little bit better. Aion and TF2 should run fine maxed settings. Wow lots of people have been getting the HP Envy 14 lately.

Hi. I want to buy a gaming laptop,

    Sony E Series
    CPU: Intel Core i5 520M(2.4GHz)
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
    RAM: 4 GB DDR3
    HD: 500GB 5400 rpm
    Display: 1366x768 14" LED

    Alienware M11x
    CPU: Intel SU7300 (1,3GHz)
    GPU: Nvidia GT335M
    RAM: 4GB DDR3
    HD: 500GB 7200 rpm
    Display: 1366x768 11.6" LCD

I know Sony's CPU is better. But Alienware is designed as a gaming laptop with faster harddisk speed and less weight (but more expensive). I want to know about their performance.
Which one is better for playing game Assasin's Creed, CoD MF 2, and NFS Shift?

    Thanks :)

The Sony will perform better out of those two. It will play the games that you listed on maxed settings. If not high-max settings.

Yes, I tried using 1280x800 resolution, minimum settings, and I used Game Booster to stop services and kill many processes. It didn't make a noticeable difference.

In your BC2 game settings where it says overall quality select advanced settings so you can turn off settings like AA and other stuff

Also this link should help you out

FragWorld.Org - Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PC Tweak Guide

Also you can set it to DX9 for very noticeable perfromance boost

    works for me :D

the CPU in the m11x is quite crap to be frank and has problems playing some games.. although the GT335m is better than 5650 , i would choose the e series due to better CPU and overall performance.. as long as ur going to play on the 1366X768 screen , both will play games on high to max settings..

it cn play CS and orange box.. maybe BF2... don't know but CPU is a little weak for games.

If compatibility mode doesn't work, one of the Virtual Machine emulators should be viable. The only thing I know of which 64-bit systems can't handle are 16-bit applications.

Just bought ASUS K70IO-TY002V with the following specs:

    # Screen size - 17.3 in - 1600 x 900
    # Processor - Intel Pentium T4200 - 2 GHz
    # RAM - 4 GB
    # Hard Drive - 250 GB
    # Operating System - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition
    # Optical Drive - DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM
    # Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GT 120M

Would it be able to run: Oblivion, FEAR, Bioshock, HL2 and STALKER on high settings (no AA/AF)?

    Thanks

    Hey guys!

I've got an xps m1530 with these specs
    Core 2 Duo 2.2GHZ
    Geforce M 8600GT
    3GB ram
    7200RPM HD

Can I run Dragon Age without lagging too much?
The internal display is 1650x1050 but I usually have the laptop connected to a 24" running at 1920x1200.

I don't expect to be able to run it as this resolution, however I would be OK with running the game at 1280x720 and having the screen stretch the image.

    Thanks in advance!

HL2 should work but seriously if u want high settings , max res is 1366X768.. CPU is also quite crap.. i would return this and get something else if u can.
    it should work at 1280X720

You will probably be able to run Oblivion, Bioshock and HL2 on high setings.
But STALKER and FEAR probably on low-med settings.
You will be able to run it on high settings but you might have to lower the res.

So I'm debating whether to pull the trigger on this laptop-

    Dell Studio XPS 16
    Screen size: 16" 1920x1080
    CPU: Core i7 720QM (1.6GHz)
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5730 1GB
    RAM: 6GB RAM
    HDD: 500 GB 7200 RPM
    OS: Win7 Home Premium

At what settings will this be able to handle games like starcraft 2 or battlefield bad company 2? Would it be worth cranking the display down to 1600x900?

    Cheers!
    JD

Starcraft 2 should run fine on Ultra settings and BFBC2 on high settings and bringing down the resolution depends on you. If you like lower res with higher settings then you should go with that but I prefer to keep the native res when playing games even when it means cranking down the settings a little bit.

So I'm debating between two MSI laptops to buy. I am an avid gamer and I already have a gaming PC. I'd like to be able to play some games on my laptop when I'm bored but if I can't run very many of today's games at least at medium then I'll just go for a really fast CPU and memory.

There is this laptop Newegg.com - MSI CR620-033US NoteBook Intel Core i3 330M(2.13GHz) 15.6" Wide XGA 4GB Memory 320GB HDD BD Combo Intel HD which has a core i3 in it, which I believe is better than the other one and it's got ddr3 memory compared to ddr2. However, it has intel integrated graphics.

The other laptop I'm interested in is Newegg.com - MSI M6275-419US NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo P7350(2.00GHz) 16" Wide XGA 4GB Memory 320GB HDD DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570. Can this laptop run games well with its dedicated mobile radeon 4570? If not, then I'll just go with the first one for the added goodies. Both laptops are the same price.

    Thanks

Radeon HD4570 is way better than any integrated GPU on the market. However, it's still unable to run any more demanding game with normal framerate. It it low-end dedicated graphic chip and you'll have to adjust your gaming habits to it's capabilities. It is still better solution for casual and time-to-time gaming compared to integrated one in the other laptop, but nothing to be very excited of.

what's the price for it because u can find better for this same price like MSI GX640 or Asus G73.. GX640 can easily handle these games on high and even on full hd if u have an external screen as internal one is 1680X1050.. G73 should have no problems playing this on high on full HD res... as for xps , it should play on 1600X900.. maybe on full HD but it will be only with med.. i would ask u to consider the 2 options i gave u.. there are a few more if u need them.

So how would, say, crysis run on the 4570? You think it could run with stable frames on medium detail (with some low detail settings in there too)? Or how about half life 2 deathmatch/orange box?

I'm thinking of going with the cr620 though since it would make it so much easier to watch movies at my house, but I'll do more research on laptops to see if I can get both.

EDIT: Actually I didn't see that the m6275 has an HDMI port on it as well so I bet I'm gonna go with that.

Recently ordered this Sony Vaio E series laptop for £799:

    Intel Core i5-520m @2.4GHz
    4GB DDR3 RAM
    Ati Mobility Radeon 5650
    500GB 5400rpm hard disk
    1080p screen

So when it arrives which kind of games could I play on at least medium settings? Also what could I play at the native resolution? And lastly how would it fare with upcoming PC games?

That laptop is pretty decent for gaming. It should handle most games out right now on high settings. Games like Modern Warfare 2 should run fine on max settings and BFBC2 on med-high settings. (All native res) Upcoming games should run fine at least on medium settings. Upcoming RTS like SC2 will run fine on high-ultra settings.

My cousin wants to play League of Legends.

His specs are similar to mine, but he has a P8400 instead of my P8600, but it's still the GMA4500HD. I read on a forum that you can play it at medium settings but I just want to confirm before I tell him something and turn out to be wrong lol :p

He should be able to run it not sure what settings though. And its free so he's not really losing anything if he can't play it. But he should run it fine at least on low settings.

Oh it's free? Well darnit then it won't matter much other than his download limit getting a hit lol :p

I wasn't sure that's why I asked. Judging from screencaps it doesn't look that graphically demanding a game(looks like a prettier WC3 DotA from which it's based)

    Thanks! ^^
