Civ 4 and expansions should be fine, lower AA a bit if the map is huge for Civ 4 and you won't be waiting minutes for one turn to end. EU3 is more demanding so medium settings should be a good benchmark. Gal Civ2 and expansions should run maxed out. SINS on medium-low settings depending on map settings. No clue on the MMORPG so you'll need help from someone else.

Yes but Empire may require you to drop a resolution or 2 to keep the settings maxed.

    ASUS m50VC
    Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 ~2.3Ghz
    320 gig 5400rpm HD
    4 gig DDR2 800 MHz SDRAM
    Nvidia 9300M GS 512MB
    Windows Vista 32bit
    1280x800 natural

Recently purchased this laptop. Was wondering if it will run games such as starcraft 2 (similar graphic requirements to red alert 3?) or diablo 3 and at what kind of resolution/graphics.

    Thanks, much appreciated.

Ordered an HP HDX X16 1155CA

    Specs are Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 2.13 GHz, 4 GB DDR2, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512MB.

Now I wanna know if that will be able to run World of Warcraft CoD 4/5, Sims 2/3, Spore, Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead with decent FPS. Along with some of the higher up games such as Crysis and Bioshock.

    Thanks

Spore and Sims you should have no problems with. COD4 is definitely playable with high details.
COD5 should be playable. Crysis will be playable on low settings. And those other games I got no clue.

Welcome to the forums, however since neither Starcraft 2 nor Diablo 3 have released any official announcements regarding system requirements it is impossible to give you an accurate estimate.

Blizzard however build their games with the casual gamer in mind and it is likely a modern integrated chipset like the 9300m will feature on their test beds so the games will play. The only question for you is how much detail and resolution you have to sacrifice to get the games to run acceptably.

Hi I am looking to buy my first laptop and wanted to know whether the machine below could adequately handle Battlefield 2 (and Project Realism) at "native" resolution and high detail settings (I know I'll have to manually adjust BF2 to run in widescreen):

    – Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (32-bit)
    – Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor T6400 (2.0GHz)
    – FREE Upgrade to 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    – FREE Upgrade to 250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
    – 512MB NVIDIA GeForce G 105M
    – 14.1" diagonal WXGA High-Definition HP LED BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)

Also, would an upgrade to 3 gb ram for $50 be worth it?

Alternatively, I have also considered the HP HDX 16 with either the 9600 GT or the new GT 130 (at 1330 res).

Honestly, I won't be playing anything other than BF2 and only that on occasion (maybe DOD: Source, too).

    Thanks for anyone's feedback.

Also, is it possible to tell me what model nVidia/ATI my graphics card is equivalent to?

Thanks, probably should have went with the HP dv5 for an extra $200. Meh, i suppose its more of an incentive to do uni work instead of playing games now lol.
I'll probably will just want to run the games on lowest settings, hopefully with natural res 1280x800 tho. Would red alert 3 run well enough on my machine with the lowest graphics but natural res? I guess i'll save the eye candy graphics for the desktop.

Don't bother, if the game even runs at all you're looking at maximum single-digit FPS no matter what resolution and settings you select.

    Hi all,
I am wondering how well the ATI 3650 will run BF2 (and Project Realism). There is a great deal on the Toshiba Satellite right now:
Operating System Windows Vista Home Premium
CPU Type AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-82 2.2G
    Screen 15.4" WXGA
    Memory Size 3GB DDR2
    Hard Disk 320GB
    Optical Drive DVD Super Multi
Graphics Card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
    Video Memory 512MB
    ($649)

and I am trying to decide between that and either an HP dv4t (with gt 105m) or an HP dv6t with an ATI 4650. I really will only be playing BF2 and only on occasion (though I'd like to run it at medium/high detail settings). Which of the three video cards would you recommend (would the gt 105m handle BF2?). I won't be playing anything newer than BF2 on the laptop, so my needs in gaming regards are limited.
    Thanks for you input.

If you can run the NWN2 demo then you'll have a better idea of whether my recommendation is accurate or inaccurate. Bear in mind the first Dawn of War is far less demanding than NWN2.

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 Mobile Processor ( 1.70 GHz, 1.70GHz)
GPU: 64MB ATI Mobility RADEON 9000
    RAM: 768MB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [512 & 256]
    Display: WSXGA+ native (1024x768)?

I was wondering if I can play MLB 2k9 on this. I could play Madden NFL 08 without any problems and I was hoping for the same with the 2k9.

Hey can I run the following games:

    1. Rome: Total War
Can I max this one out at native res and ~25FPS even during big real time battle scenes ?

    2. Mediavel II: Total War
Native res, med-high settings and smooth framerates all through the game, even intense battles ?

    3. Empire: Total War
Can i get this one to run at decent combination of graphical prettiness and smooth gameplay at all ?

I'm thinking of buying the MSI GT725 and the specs are:

    CPU: Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P9500 (2.53GHz, 6MB L2 cache, 1,066MHz FSB, dual-core)
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4850 512MB
    RAM: 4 GB
    DISPLAY: 17in WSXGA+ (1,680x1,050)

I want to play supreme commander; would I be able to play the game on high settings, on the largest maps with the maximum limit of units? The game requires a fast CPU, would the CPU mentioned above be fast enough?

I think your video card isn't good enough. Intel chipsets are not meant for gaming. I once had the same graphic card as yours but I changed it by upgrading the motherboard. If you want to, check this thread.

This thread is also for those people who says that it's impossible.

Can someone also please answer this?
Will my computer run spore and Empires:Total War? If so, will spore be maxed out? and Empires at what settings?

    Specs: Dell Studio 1535
    Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 @2.10GHz
    4GB DDR2 Ram
    Ati Mobility Radeon HD 3450(256MB)
    1280x800

Also how is hd 3450 compared to hd 4530?

    1. Yes, Rome is fairly old so even the mid-range 8600m GT DDR2 version should max it.

    2. Stay on medium if you're going for protracted sieges.

    3. It'll run but the extra graphical options will likely need to be reduced for performance.
