I need to buy a laptop to run WoW for when I am on the road. I raid a lot but I do not really care if I am running the settings on high for the laptop, I use my PC at home for that. All that being said will the following laptop handle WoW.
Compaq - Presario Laptop with AMD Athlon X2 QL-62 Dual-Core Processor 2.0GHz
2GB DDR2 memory
NVIDIA GeForce 8200M graphics
I think the 8200M is actually integrated. Would I need 3GB ram or is the 2GB enough? And really, can the 8200M handle WoW? I don't need the bells and whistles... -
Aww somebody answer mine as well!

Hi, I'll be getting a MacBook soon.
The 2.0GHz Unibody, with 4GB DDR3 RAM and that nVIDIA 9400M chip.
I just want to know if these two games can run, if not, then I wouldn't bother buying Windows XP
Sins of a Solar Empire
Empire Total War
Thanks very much! -
Even a 2.0 Ghz Quad core like the Q9000 will most likely run it better. GTA IV is an extremely CPU intensive game ported from consoles that have a minimum of 3 Cores (Xbox 360) to a maximum of 8 Cores (PS3). A dual core will never be able to run GTA IV very well because it will be left with 1-2% free CPU time if you are lucky.
When there are lots of action and different calculations on screen two CPU's will not have any free CPU time so you will experience more slow downs than you would have if you had a lower clocked Quad.
In all of the laptops you mentioned, the CPU is a bottleneck in that game. You could get 30+ fps with patches and tweaks perhaps. -

This is in relation to upgrading a T6400 p7350 Penryne socket P (478). Whats the max upgrade it will take. -
yo..me and my friend here are thinkin of gettin some nice laptops for gaming..and we sorta narrowed it to two options
Dell Studio XPS 16
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 3MB Cache)
4GB (2 X 2GB) Dual Channel 1067MHz DDR3 SDRAM
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670
16" 720p WXGA (1366x768) WLED HD Display
Dell Studio 15 Laptop
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 3MB Cache)
4GB (2X2GB) DDR2 SDRAM Memory
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
15.6” 720p WLED (1366x768) Display with TrueLife™ and Built-in 2.0MP Web Cam
now is the hd 4570 that different from hd 3670?and does ddr2 ram vs ddr3 ram matter?.can someone juz tell me how will crysis warhead perform on these two laptops? -
Crysis will prob. run medium on the 3670 and medium to low on the 4570. -
oh and one more thing..hw is the 512 mb ATI radeon hd 3670 or 4570 compared to the nvidia geforce 7300 gt(for the desktop)?juz wanna knw lol
-
Didn't see for the desktop. it might get an extra 10-20% on the mobile gpu at a guess. But yea those two will S--t on the 7300 -
lol k cause my pc has 1 gb ram and 7300 card and is able to run warhead at medium..so these shud be better huh.thnx for info mate..(oh btw u mean the ati radeon mobility cards i mentioned works better than desktop nvidia 7300gt card?

Hey guys,
Can an ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4330 run Dawn of War II?
My other specs are top notch, but SysReq doesn't have this game for me to test against it and I don't know how else to find out. -
I am getting a Gateway P-6860 FX.
Specs:
T5550 1.83GHz CPU
4GB of RAM
GeForce 8800M GTS 512MB GDDR3
17" 1440x900 LCD
320GB 5400RPM HD
Removing vista and doing a fresh install of xp pro.
How well can I play Crysis Warhead?
Note: my old laptop with a 8600M GT 256MB GDDR3 could handle it at medium settings. With the GPU overclocked from 475/900/702 to 500/1000/702. -
well i KNOW i can play Fallout3, and Halo 2 Vista, because i do all the time and they run at high to medium settings and i thought they had demanding requirments, but what about Gears Of War Vista (PC), or WarHammer 40,000 Dawn Of War 2
CPU: 1.90 GHz AMD Athlon X2 QL-60 Dual-Core Processor (1 MB L2 Cache)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8200M
RAM:3GB
Display:15.4" Diagonal WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen (1280 x 800 = normal resolution) -
crysis is pretty demanding game as far as i know. This site will give some idea of how your card should perform.

Well you said your next laptop. Or do you have it already?
-

The specs are in the link below. Only difference is that the laptop im planning on buying has a 320GB HDD 5400RPM.
http://vaio.sony.co.uk/view/ShowPro..._cons&pageType=Overview&category=VN+FW+Series -
At 1920x1080 it won't be playable at all. On something like 1368x768 (or whatever it is), it will play okay with medium settings.
Future inquiries should be made here. -
Let's just say not so good!
-
Go to the site Can You Run It? (TM) just search it.
-
You'll have to get opinions from people who run the game with an AMD MR HD3650. I'd say medium settings, 1280x800 if you want it to be playable, but I've never used the card before so I don't know for sure. -
ATI3650. Not really a gaming GPU. You could probably pull off a Medium GFX setting in Crysis with a reasonable resolution 1280x800 (to be playable).
I remember on my 8600M GT, all medium at 1280x800 was what ran good.
That Vaio has a pretty nice CPU, but sadly, a mediocre GPU. Vaios aren't gaming pc's. -
Let's just say this: Crysis is a too demanding game- simple as that. It will not run smoothly on maximum settings on a Q6600 @ 3.80GHz, 4GHz DDR2@over 1GHz and an overclocked 4870 X2. This just is not a title meant to be played on laptop computers - and let's be honest - besides it's graphic engine, it is not that good really. I would rather concentrate on other games when buying a new laptop
Even if you buy the most powerful laptop there is, you will still be disappointed over it's performance in Crysis... -
It gives you an idea where your card should be placed when compared with others. Have in mind that under same card will be ie. a card with ddr2 and ddr3.
And no you won't see anything related to games, but the benchmarks are "closely" related to games. -
-
well how well would crysis play on this laptop, much better or only a slight difference?

4500MHD performance on DMC3?
-
I don't think the 4500 can run DMC3. The minimum requirements list a 128MB video card.
-
Alrighty... this is kind of a backwards format for this question, but hopefully ya guys will let it slide.
I pulled the trigger and am picking up an older Thinkpad T41. 1.8Ghz P M Dothan, 100GB 7200RPM HDD, 1.5GB RAM, XP Pro, and with an integrated 32MB Radeon X9000 GPU. I don't really plan on doing much if any gaming on it(I've got the beast in my sig for those duties). Chalk it up to curiosity, but I'm wondering what older games just might stand to be playable on it. I'm sure it'll run the original Half-Life just fine, UT1, The Sims(1), possibly Morrowind... but does anyone have any suggestions for some 'oldies but goodies' for this one? -
Got to say med-high. Maybe a little lower. Just install ccc mod lvl 2 or 3.
