The GT130m is just slightly faster than a 9600m GT (assuming they have the same memory type) so performance will be almost the same. Crysis will play fine on medium @ 1280x800, CoD4/5 will play at medium-high at the same resolution.

Sims 3 requirements says that 1.8 Ghz Core 2 duo is needed...but my processor has only 1.4Ghz. Is this still okay, or is it a 'can't install the game at all' problem?

Side note: Why does everyone want to play Crysis? :S

i will be purchasing a laptop some time soon, ive got my eyes on a ASUS with specs of:

    - centrino 2 inside (core 2 duo 2.4ghz)
    - 4 gig ram
    - ATI HD 3470 (dedicated) 256mb

im just wondering if anyone would know if the ATI 3470 could handle crysis on medium settings for "ok" graphics, or may be possibly even higher? really wanting answers from people from personal experience with ATI 3470 and playing crysis, but if anyone has any great info that will be great

I think you could run it since you have a little bit faster igp.
And for everyone wanting to play Crysis, Imo it's a fun game. Warhead even more so, but most want it to say their computer can play it and bench their computer with it.

notebooknoob, your laptop will handle those games very well, the games you listed most prob can handle those games on all high settings, your laptop can also run high end graphic games such as F.E.A.R, COD, and crysis.

Hey guys, I've been looking around for a laptop with a decent graphics card(preferebely nVidia GeForce) and within $500, that would be great. that will run the games GunZ: The Duel, Cross Fire, and Trackmania Nations Forever. None of these games are really graphic intense maybe besides Crossfire. Here are the recommended system requirements for each game.

ijji Gunz: Pentium III 800 MHz RAM: 512 MB or above Graphics Card: GeForce 4MX or higher OS: XP

Trackmania Nations Forever(Free): Pentium IV 1.6GHz/AthlonXP 1600+ Graphics: 3D accelerator 16 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c or better and a memory of 512MB with Vista.

    CrossFire: CPU-Pentium 4 - 2G.0GHz Memory:1 GB Video card: GeForce 660 or better and Hard Disk: 1.2GB

Here are the specs for the laptop i want which is HP.
    Memory Size:3GB
Hard drive: 160GB and the speed is 5400 RPM
    Processor Brand: AMD
    Processor Class: Sempron
    Processor Type: Single-Core
    Processor Speed: 2.0GHz
    Processor Number: SI-40
    Processor Cache: 512KB
    Graphics Description: Dedicated Graphics
    GPU/VPU: nVidia GeForce 8200M
Video Memory: Up to 1470 MB

The PC name is HP G60-121WM Refurbished Laptop Computer

    Thanks for the help guys!!

The laptop you listed is actually intergrated graphics and not a dedicated Video card. Also the Nvidia 8000 series (if you go non intergrated) Has been proven to have serious issues with malfunctioning and overheating. Your best best is go to the "What notebook should i buy" Forum and fillout the FAQ.

P.S Short awsner the Laptop you listed is VERY out of date and would be almost useless for any gaming at all.

Exactly the same specs as mine, except you have 1gb more ram, + more HD.

    From experience:

Unreal Tournament 3, all high, native res. Performance for me was very good.
Gears Of War, all high (DX9 or DX10, though with the latter it's pointless unless you want AA) Native Res

Farcry 2 should run at high. High for some reason does not look much different then very or even ultra for that matter.

Far Cry 2 will run maxed out on both machines. Hell I even ran it on high settings on my 2nd laptop with a Geforce 9500M GS. Anyhow I'm guessing you're looking to replace your current Gateway P-7808u with the MSI GT725? If so then it isn't much of an upgrade. The HD 4850 is pretty much between the Geforce 9800M GTS and 9800M GTX so you'd be looking at max 15-20% faster GPU along with acceptance of ATi's aweful drivers.

PS. The Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 in your Gateway is actually based on the P8600 in the MSI and other than the slightly higher core clock speed (2.26Ghz vs 2.4Ghz) it has basically the same specifications.

Um, the 4850 is at least equal to the 9800M GTX, sometimes beating it.

You'll do fine on native res. and medium settings, maybe some high but don't go to far with shadows, they are the biggest performance taker. If you need some more power you can always OC, just be careful.

I have an Acer Aspire 5920G (1 year old) and I would like to know if I can play Mirror's Edge.

    Specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T5550
    RAM: 3GB DDR2
GPU: nVidia GeForce 8600M GS 256MB DDR2 (Up to 1024MB TurboCache)
    Display: 15.4” Widescreen Display (1280x800)

I would like to play Mirror's Edge mixing Medium and High settings at 1280x800. The GPU clocks are underclocked, and instead of that, Acer offers TurboCache memory. I think that makes the GPU underpowered?

Has anyone played Left4Dead on a laptop with a ATI 3200? I was thinking of getting the HP tx2500 cuz tablets are awesome, but I want to be able to occasionally play L4D (even if its on minimum settings). Everything about that laptop is perfect except for the mobility 3200 graphics.

Hi, I am wondering how Far Cry 2 will run on the following...

    T8300 (2.4GHz)
    3GB ram
    W7(or XP)
    HD2600 GDDR3 (OC'd to 600/700 from 500/600)

Hoping to run it at WUXGA (hopeful I know) or as high resolution as possible, all mid settings no AA/AF will be good enough for me. :)

    CPU:Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 / 2 GHz ( dual core )
    GPU:NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT - 512 MB
    RAM: DDR2 SDRAM ( 2 x 2 GB ) tot: 4 GB
    Display:WXGA native

OS: will most likely be Windows vista

another one im looking at is the same specs but the GPU is an ATi radeon 3650 512 mb

    Hi.

Can i play Dead Space on

    -Intel Core 2 Duo 2.10Ghz
    -3Gb RAM
    -ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 128mb
    -Windows Vista Home Premium

I have seen the cd cover and it said on the video card that it requires 64mb. But as i tested it on systemrequirementslab it said it failed and not passing the minimum requirements.

    Please i need answers ASAP.

    Thanks!

Hey I am getting a new laptop and i am really liking the Asus G50Vt-X5 for world of warcraft play
    (specs)
    Intel® Core™2 Duo Mobile
    2.13GHz
    4GB
    NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS
How we looking at settings med-high or can i go super high?

I am torn though between that one and another Asus
Which has the same processor and speed but has 4GB(up to 8) and a NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS graphics card with 1GB Video Memory where as the above laptop has 512 DDR3. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot or not done correctly I am a new guy.
Any help would be great thanks! Also open to suggestions of other laptops, that can handle med-high(preferred more of a higher setting) Thanks!!
