Well, the rendering is done by the CPU so thats work able, but it's view point performance will be rather poor. -

How well can a 9400m on unibody macbook work on hawx?
what about the new dv3t? -
Integrated chipset running two fairly oldish games which likely enforce a dedicated GPU system requirement.
I assume the .iso files were burned as a copy from your DVDs otherwise you're not getting any more help from the forum. More replies implying a spoiled child won't help either. The only way to get the hitman and Need for Speed games to run would be to get a new system, since you didnt' bother reading the sticky regarding the non-upgradeable nature of almost every laptop for video cards. -
this blows. then what CAN i play with this laptop? i mean im not an avid gamer by all means...but i grew with the macs in school....and games back then were similiar to atari...so ANY laptop right now is like "WHOA!" to me...so what games can i play on here?
i like games like resident evil adn that devil may cry and doom3 but not as scary...what games like that can i play?
do i need to over clock my lapt top? im lookin into that...1.5 is kinda low...i might have alot of "head room" if done properly, rite? -
well, i did some reading adn being that i have a duo core TWO i find it somewhat ridiculous that its running at FULL capacity at a measly 1.5(1.433333blah blah) duo core two's are have been in teh market only a couple years and prior to this laptop i was a duo core1 with a 1.73...so this just doesnt make rite with me, 1.5 cannot possibly be full capacity, there HAS to be way more to play with in there...if i can get it up to 1.7 ill be happy with at least that. and whatever happens with my gaming, ill take it up then.
-
With your current system, any games dated around 2004-2005 is playable, the only recently released game I can think of which should run acceptably is the HL2 orange box.
The forums have plenty of read-it-yourself stickies regarding video cards and CPUs. Use the search function to find out more. -
Your computer lacks in many areas, mainly CPU and GPU, most of the games you mentioned require as a must a dedicated card, and some muscle in the cpu department. You are not going to get any benefit of overclocking at all and finally, If you want to try some gaming, follow Harley's advise. I had a similar laptop as yours and all I could do was some Luxor, Wolfenstein (think this is going way back).
-
i know enough to get my BY, I.E, i know i wasnt going to play NEW games. and like i said, i grew up with atari and nintendo, so these laptop now days is crazy to me, any game after the age of doom3 is good for me, i just dont know what games to get, i dont know any names. where can i put a time frame and pull up games in that time frame?
and rjbg84
ive done enough reading to rebuttal that statement....in overclocking my cpu...
companies like intel push out different cpu's every so many months because its teh same one at different clocks.
if my cpu fam.is related to one that has higher clocks-- then i can easily overclock it at leas by 15% and hopefully not start to get heated.
my reasoning in overclocking is like i said...
DUO CORE TWO is fairly new, hence i would THINK that 1.5 processor is NOT at its max...it just doesn't make sense...so clocking it to a 1.7 or 8 seems feasible, and i should get better game play with that. even with older games. -

Stay on-topic and non-argumentative in this thread. I had to delete several posts. Thank you.

@Jahizen: You most likely can overclock your CPU to 1.7 or 1.8; however, just be sure to test for stability so you don't fry your chip that's all.
Core 2 Duo is new, but the distinction they make between models and families is the quality of the materials(silicon and such) used in each processor core so that it can withstand a certain level of stress. Lower quality materials are used for lower quality CPUs. Therefore, you can't overclock your CPU to extreme levels either because the material won't be able to handle it past a certain point, but something like 1.5 to 1.7 should be feasible without issue. I've done 2.7 to 3.1 without much issue on an AMD desktop CPU and it worked fine.
Mind you, this will only improve performance for games which were already CPU bound by your machine. If your machine lacks graphics as well, nothing more to do about it.

To put this back on topic, how would a low end GPU like the HD4570 fare against these games? Similarly, how would an HD3670 fare on the same list?
- DMC4
- Spore
- The Last Remnant
- Rise of the Argonauts
- Guild Wars

I want to know if i could play left 4 dead at the best settings.
Im only goin to play First person Shooters, and so i want them to run at maximum performance.
Is what i have ok for the best performance?
if not, what would i need to upgrade on? -
I play L4D with 30-150 fps. (most of the time around 100) You might want a little faster CPU for the hoards. -
-
Crysis is a FPS and the laptop you have chosen will not max that game the other games will how ever.
-
if i get a better processor, then would it be maxed out?

What games would i not be able to play on this computer? Like what games would not smoothly run on this laptop? I want to buy it and i just want to make sure i dont regret it. -
You most certainly CAN play Crysis, you just can't max everything out at the highest resolution that's all.
The HD3470 should be able to handle anything 3+ years old pretty much maxed without problems. The newer power hungry monsters will run with difficulty however. -
but i just discovered MAX PAYNE TWO...SWEEET....can i get more suggestions like THAT? but my HITMAN contracts wont play, i dont know if its teh GAMES requirements or my download...i DONT know, but i DO know nobody will speak on that and i understand why, its taboo for computer ppl on their web boards...yadda yadda.. -

omg, im running FEAR!!!! n e other suggestions? similar to FEAR and max payne 2?
fear is sooo freaking AWESOME!! -

what other games can my notebook run.
i see suggestions all over this thread...or am i reading the wrong thread?
*reads back a few pages*
no, its this thread..
i get it, u busting my chops..ok, whatever, i got a message from a mod busting my chops too...wow...forget it pple. i ll just leave this site to your click of massive brainage and just go somewhere else where im not "hassling" pple. thanx. -
Now you're asking for games to play similar to FEAR. That's not a "Can I run this" question. If you used the search or just looked at a few pages in the Gaming Forum, you'd realize that people make threads asking for game suggestions all the time.
You may want to check out The Orange Box. It comes with 5 games, all of which are great and should run on your laptop decently. -
I ordered a new Dell with intel x4500MHD yesterday. I plan to play Guild Wars with it.. I just wondering, does anyone able to played this game with this IGP? and if yes what is the min and max FPS? Min FPS bother me alot, i have a friend with nvdia 8200m, got about 60FPS but sometimes drop to 25FPS in certain places..
-
Even on my desktop it was like this... (8600GT XXX). But the game will be playable, don't fear. It's an old game on an old engine, there shouldn't be any problems.
-
The Guild Wars engine is surprisingly efficient. It can run on lesser machines and can look pretty good on good machines. It's quite a nice compromise >.>
Anyways yeah it'll run for sure. GW can run at lowest on a GMA945 so yeah, it can run on ANYTHING lolAnd don't worry about 25FPS, that's still enough to play GW. I mean, I once monked a mission with 6FPS at certain places O_O(and only had 3 deaths in that mission)
-
-
-
At certain places it almost was lol
More like a jerky video, but the point is that I've never really seen much use in numbers. Perhaps having the lowest of the low I've learned to content myself with that and anything above is good to me
Idk, I think 25FPS sounds good enough. "Low" for me is to the point it gets jerky which 25 wouldn't be form my past experience. I could max everything on GW with a desktop 9600GT at 1600*1200 and got smooth gameplay. -
With my 7000m gpu I monked for some high rated heroes ascent teams, which requires splint second accuracy, I'm sure if my gpu could handle it yours can.
-
I consider everything from 15fps and up - playable. I guess when you don't have more, you satisfy yourself with less.
-
Hi! I m new here. I was wondering at what settings I would be able to play "Age of Conan"... Thanks in advance!
