Can I run Microsoft's Flight Simulator (FSX) on my Precision M4400? (Specs: T9400, FX770m/9600gt ddr3) If this game is playable on my notebook, what settings will I be able to expect?
Best regards. -
I'd say medium-high at 1680x1050 for FSX on that machine.

On my Acer Aspire 5920G (specs in signature), FSX recommends Ultra High on 1280x800, and it runs pretty smoothly, with some lags that I don't care much. FSX mostly depends on the CPU, but I see you've got a fast one. FSX depends on VRAM and Core Clock on the GPU, 512MB is more than enough and 1GB is a wonder.
I would say that it should run on Ultra High too and better, and remember to install the patches, they improve the performance a lot more. -
Thanks Aznofazns and McMaster for your answers to my Microsoft FSX question. Much appreciated!

Riddick: Assault on dark athena. System specs in sig.
I know it's a long shot, but i don't mind playing at 848x480 with all low details. -
Not bought the laptop yet but thinking of a Sony VGN-FW31J since my current (admitedly rather cheap) laptop wont play many modern games (Fallout 3 was a failure).
Always been a console gamer till now but i have to travel a lot and need to evolve my gaming to suit, basically just wondering if the Sony will handle most modern games. Pretty clueless about gaming laptops.
The specs are as follows:
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6400
2GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 2MB
256mb Dedicated to graphics
4GB memory
400GB hard drive
Thanks for any help -
what is the graphics card that your getting in it?
-
Apologies, I thought I had left that in the post.
It's a ATi Radeon HD 3470 if that means anything to anybody
Cheers -
All maxed out.
That's not a good caard for gaming but if you lower resolution and settings you could play.
Well then go ahead and play at low res and settings. You might go a little bit higher with res. Maybe.
In gaming graphic cards means everything. Not a good card for gaming. You will have to play with lower resolution and setting and that will make it look not as good as it is suppose to be. -
Yep, that's what I had been led to believe. Unfortunately that's where my knowledge of grapics cards ends. I just want to upgrade my current general use laptop to some thing I can play games on (offline mostly) when I am away from home. I live in the uk and work in Africa but spend time in the states. I can handle a slight drop In resolution as long as it is capable of running games properly and therefore passing the boredom.

Hello i am new here. I am intrested in GRID play, i have it installed, game start ok and eaven got intro movie, but when it goes to screen menus screen is blank and sound is on.
My specs are provided here.
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU
T8300 @ 2.40GHz
2.39 GHz, 2.99 GB of RAM
Physicak Address Extension
Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family -
Can anyone tell me if Battlefield Heroes will run a netbook?
-
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
Depends on the specs, however, since most netbooks have crappy IGP's, probably not. -
if you have the gm965 chipset the game would not run, it requires a much more powerful graphics card.
-
No, my friend tried that on his Asus, it was too choppy. Not sure what FPS it was, but pretty low.
-
Tried it on my aspire one as well, it runs, but poorly at minimum settings. It's definitely not smooth enough to play since it's under 10fps avg.
-
i recently ordered a lenovo y450, here r the specs:
P7450 2.13 GHz
NVIDIA 105M 256MB
4GB RAM
can i run cod4? crysis? -
How will this run Crysis, FarCry2, and (hypothetically) Starcraft 2:
17" 1920X1200 screen res (will play games at 1440x900)
4GB DDR2 Ram
Dual SLI nVidia 9800GT w/ 1GB VRAM
Intell T8300 at 2.4ghz -
How much fps can I expect from FarCry2.
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz
4GB DDR2 Ram
ATI Radeon HD3650
1600x900 (native) -
Crysis You should be able to run on high. Its badly coded so the lowest is medium. Far cry 2 you should have no problems on high and starcraft 2 I would say high.
-
Like others have say your gpu is to weak. Sorry to say
-
Yes you can run both. CoD4 should run fine on medium settings while you can achieve playable FPS in Crysis at low-medium 800x600 resolution.
You should be able to handle FarCry 2 at high settings with 1366 x 768, but I'm not sure if the same would apply to 1600x900, but if anything it'll run fine at high-medium at that resolution. -
hey guys!
what do you think about these 2 configs?
the first is:
WXGA HD (1366 x 768)
2x2 gb ddr3 ram
Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 (2 GHz, 800 MHz, 2 MB)
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 1024 MB gddr3+ system memory
the second is:
WXGA HD (1366 x 768)
2x2 gb ddr2 ram
Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 (2 GHz, 800 MHz, 2 MB)
Ati Radeon HD 4650 1 gb ddr2 (i think its going to be ddr2 in my new laptop, but i dont know actually. is there a big difference between ddr2 and gdd3?)
first time i see these configs i said the first one with nvidia is way better, but ppl say radeon 4650 is stronger, and its like an nvidia 9700 - i realy dont know... would be happy if you can help
after analyzing this : http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4650.13883.0.html - i would say yeah, 4650 is better, but i ask for your advice
which should i buy for higher quality?
so the games what i want to play ( please if you can, tell how much fps can i get on XY graphics )
cod 4
cod 5
tomb raider underworld
crysis
maybe crysis warhead (?)
dead space
grid
gta 4
gears of war
what do you think? thank you
-
Hi guys, was wondering how well I'd be able to play Crysis (and other really recent games) on this:
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q9000 @ 2Ghz, 1066Mhz FSB, 6MB L2 cache
GPU: 1GB Mobility Radeon HD4650 (i think the bus is 128 mbits.. :/)
RAM: 4GB (2x 2Gb DDR3 PC3 8500)
Display: TFT Brightview LED, 1600x900
I'm thinking of buying this quad core notebook but I'm not too sure bout the graphics cards? :S -
The second one is better, ATi 4650 is better than NVidia 9600. You can play all those games. FPS is difficult to say as it depends on the settings. But you'll play fine.
You'll play OK, a bit better than the guy above you as you will have superior CPU. The card is new, it's not top but it's OK for playing new games. There are of course NBs with better cards. -
thank you for the answer
-
thanks man ^^

Hello, guys !
Lenovo thinkpad T500 equipped ATI HD3650, Can I play FSX (all Ultra-High setting) with it well?
Thank you ! -
Snowball's chance in hell, FSX rivals Crysis in its demands for system power. Even quad-core CPUs with the top-end GPUs struggle at rendering everything at the highest detail.
Start from medium settings and keep your traffic and other CPU-heavy settings low first and build from there. -

Looking for a new game for my Lenovo T400. Heard good things about Sins of a Solar Empire. Will it run (or run well) on my specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo processor T9400 (2.53GHz, 6MB L2, 1066MHz)
ATI Mobility Radeon 3470 with 256MB
4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 (2 DIMM)
160GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
Thanks for the help. -
It will probably run on medium with no problems. Some high settings might work, but zooming in onto big battles would probably give you quite a drop in FPS.

Hi everyone, I just bought a HP hdx 18t i love this thing so far, i topped everything out on her, shes got the quad core clocked at 2.5ghz, 8 gigs ram, and the nvidia 130 1gb graphics card, oki, i love everything about it exept the mid grade graphics card, i have the intel centrino 2 chipset, i wanted to get 2 of the gtx 280m's, it looks compatable, but i just really want to know if i can change them out, i heard on most laptops the vid card is usually welded in, but they ALSO say that the newer high end ones can be exchanged, well this thing is BRAN new, and if i can change them out where can i get the gtx 280m, i cant find them anywhere
