    Hi there!

Could someone tell me whether Assassin's Creed would run on my Notebook? Systemrequirementslab tells me my processor is too lame and Futuremark says the processor is okay but the GPU is too lame, but then there are videos on youtube of people playing it on 8400M GS.
Anyone has experience with this game in combination with my GPU?

    Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 2,0 GHz
    3GB DDR2 RAM
    Geforce 9300M GS 512MB RAM
    320GB HDD

At what resolution and with how many frames per second are you running it?

My 9300M GS already struggles with the swamp area in The Witcher. :(

Turn grass off and lighting to low when in the swamp. It'll help a lot.

Yeap, it could run L4D and CSS with all on high. I have almost the same setup and the most demanding game I've thrown at it so far is Wanted: Weapons of Fate (Low, but really good looking already) and Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box (at medium settings) so, yeah. :D

Yeah I'm not going to be doing some major gaming, just need it to be able to run L4D / CSS at medium settings at above 40FPS for about 2 hours at a time, so i can play on the weekends (if theres nothing else to do).

    Its a college laptop basically.

The other one i was looking at was the Asus G50vt-x5 which is the same price but offers a way better gaming performance. This one is just a lot smaller, hence its categorization as a thin and light notebook, versus the Asus's as a gaming desktop replacement notebook.

can the p8600 and mobility 3470 run gtr2 at 1280x800 with nearly maxed out graphics? I prefer someone with first-hand experience at gtr2, not a theoretical answer

Doesn't help much. For some reason the only thing that helps is reducing the distance view to it's lowest.

Some other opinions on Assassin's Creed with a GeForce 9300M GS?

I'm not so good with all these specs and stuff, but I'd say it will be able to run it fine, at least on medium settings. When you say run, I presume you mean play without hiccups and not match a desktop.

It runs smoothly on low with no AA on my MacBook(2ghz, 4gb ddr3 ram, 9400m integrated), and ok on medium with no AA just a tad choppy in big siege battles.

Hey, I was wondering if this machine will be powerful enough to play World of Warcraft (25 man raids) at 1900x1200? Or would I need a better GPU and/or CPU?

Can my machine run Grand theft auto 4?

From Rockstar's web-site, the system requirements are:

    Minimum:

    *
    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz
    *
    Memory: 1.5GB
    *
    Free Hard Drive Space: 16GB
    *
    Video Card: 256MB NVidia 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900
    *
DirectX 9 compatible Stereo Sound Card

    Recommended:

    *
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz
    *
Memory: 2GB (Windows XP) 2.5GB (Windows Vista)
    *
    Free Hard Drive Space: 18GB
    *
    Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870
    *
DirectX 9 compatible Surround Sound Card

    My laptop:

    HP DV6T
    OS: Vista 64 bit
    Proc: Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.13Ghz
    Ram: 4GB
Video Card: 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon 4650

It seems like I should be fine - but can anyone verify? I'm mainly worried about the processor. I KNEW I should have spent the extra 100 bucks and gotten the P8600 2.4Ghz

What do you guys think? What kind of settings should I be able to use?

At the settings you desire your system configuration is going to struggle especially if you have the latest expansion pack. The game will run better if you lower the resolution and details, the CPU should be powerful enough.

    Thank you for your advice.
If I improved the CPU and GPU (see update below) would this machine will be powerful enough to play World of Warcraft (25 man raids) at 1900x1200?

Or would I need to replace the T8300 CPU with the T9300(with 6MB cache)?

    CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T8300 (2.4GHz/800Mhz FSB/3MB cache)
    GPU: NVIDIA® SLI™ Dual GeForce® 8800M GTX 1GB2 GDDR3

until recently i've been running mid level games like WoW, orange box and counterstrike on my laptop (2.2Ghz dual core, 2gb ram, nvidia 8600M GS 256mb graphics). it was alright but it has really struggled with WoW since WoTLK. that laptop is broken, so i'm looking at a new laptop. will this run WoW a bit smoother than my old one?

It's the GPU that limits you more than your CPU, the game isn't like GTAIV where a quad-core CPU is practically mandatory to get the game running acceptably. You will see barely noticeable improvement if you upgraded to the T9300.

Sorry I wasn't able to see your post, and thanks for the rep!

Anyway, if you don't mind the size i suggest you get the Asus--I got this laptop about two days BEFORE the G50vt ads came out, and what's worse they have the SAME PRICE! So, yeah, I got a little kick in the thing, since the G50vt I think has 9600M GT or GS? Well in any case it performs better than 9300M GS. So if you could, get it so you won't have any regrets. :D

I love the Sims. They're my escape from reality. :) I'm really hoping that my laptop can runs the Sims 3. I've looked at the Sims 3 specs, but I'm not sure if my ATI Radeon x1200 graphics are a video card or a "built-in graphics chipset". I've gone to "Can You Run It" ( www.systemrequirementslab.com) and it says that I can, but it also said that I could run Sims 2 on this machine and I have been unsuccessful with that.

So, this is what I got:

AMD Athlon Processor 2650e, 1.60 GHz (rated at 2.65 GHz per Can You Run It)
3.0 GB Ram (2.7 GB per Can You Run It)
Vista Home Basic, 32 Bit Edition
    ATI Radeon x1200 video card

I would love to just trust "Can You Run It", but as I said it said I could run Sims 2 (in fact it said my machine exceeded the requirements) and I have been unable to run it - the trees look like pieces of folded paper in the neighborhood view and it crashes when you attempt to load a family. (Any insight on those issues would be greatly appreciated as well!) So before I drop $50 on Sims 3, I would like to know for sure that I will be able to actually play it. ;)

Thank you in advance for any advice/insight/knowledge you can offer!!!

I am planning on buying the new GTX 280M Laptops from Clevo next month. Will it play Crysis fluently, on high settings? I know it won't on very high settings.

But high is good enough for me, but it must play fluently without any lag or overheating.

    Thanks

Yes on DirectX9 you will get ver very good results, I don't know about 10 but I would assume so as well... Look up benchmarks for the Np5797 with a 280m the gaming results should be similiar if not a lower

It's very playable on high @1680 x 1050. A mild overclock won't hurt either (600/1550/950?) DX9 is a bit faster, may as well use it instead of DX10. CCC level 4 also works very well, looks better than high but you lose dof/blur.

I suppose it wont run well even on low settings. I have tried TF2 with a 3470 and had dident get any good fps with 1280x800 and low settings.

How does TF2 run on dell xps 1340 with m9500?
What res/settings will it run smoothly with?

Will this setup be able to run games such as GTA IV, Cod4 and WaW? My main concern lies with its GPU..

That laptop is nowhere near capable of playing the game. Even the minimums you posted make that very clear.

First off, you should be able to play Sims 2 without a hitch, but I'm not sure why you're having troubles. You may just need to update your video drivers.

Sims 3 you're below the minimum requirements. It's asking for a Go 6200 or Radeon 9600, which are superior to your x1200.

    Hi All,

Thanks for this great service. My specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8300 (2.40 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 3 MB L2 Cache)
GPU: 64MB ATI Mobility RADEON x2300
    RAM: 2032mb DDR2 SDRAM
    Display: 1280x800

I already know that I can play Oblivion at low settings, and am fully prepared to play the games at low to v. low settings if necessary. 'Playable' is what I'm interested in.

Can I / How well can I play:
Mass Effect, Orange Box, Bioshock, GTA IV and San Andreas, Fallout 3, Crysis, Witcher, Left4Dead.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I know it's difficult to give advice on games not released yet, but anyway... I'm looking at the HP Elitebook 2530p, but if the Dell Vostro 1320 will be able to run Diablo3 and/or GuildWars2 I might change my mind.

    CPU: Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.4GHz, 1066MHz FSB,3MB L2 cache) [Inkludert i prisen]
    GPU: 256 MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 9300M GS Graphic Card
    RAM: 8192MB 800 MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x4GB)
    Display: 13.3

Btw, I'm not looking for perfect 3D graphics. I'm happy if those games will run fluently enough on lowest settings. I'm more interested in gameplay than looks anyway. I suppose there's no chance those games will run on the 2530p? Had to ask. GW1 at least runs well in highest settings on the 2510p, but considering it's an old games now...
