You didn't mention what game you would like to play. any way your card is not the best but it's not the worst, lets say it's in the middle, mainstream. Your problem is resolution, it's way too much for that card so my advice is to lower resolution and you'll be fine on usually medium settings.

On low settings, that card is weak.

You have the small model of the 9300m GS (only 256mb ram.), but yes - I would say It could run Diablo 3 with no problems, but you have to play on low graphics - same goes to Guild Wars. ;)

Btw. Are you swedish or something :p? "Inkludert i prisen" sounds familiar to me since I live in Denmark xD

I just bought an acer aspire 8930g with specs:

    # Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 / 2.26 GHz ( Dual-Core )
    # RAM - 4 GB - DDR2 SDRAM ( 2 x 2 GB )
    # Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT - 512 MB
    # Screen - 18.4' TFT 1920 x 1080 ( WUXGA ) - 24-bit (16.7 million colours) - CineCrystal

Does anybody know how well i can play crysis, cod wow, and left 4 dead?

I have asked some people before but had mixed replies, i am wondering if anybody is quite certain.

It can run Crysis, CoD, WoW, Left 4 Dead easy, but...

I have bad experiences with the 8930g. It overheats easily, and when it does, it begins to lag like hell! I don't hope that you have the same problem, because I swapped it to a new computer, and got the rest of the money back (Thank god for that!)

But all you can do is to test it :)

    Kind Regards Peter

I'm about to order a Lenovo T500 (P9500 / 2 GB RAM) model with 3650 GDDR3. Would like to know how would it handle the following:
    * Gothic 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Fallout 3, Far Cry 2 and probably Diablo 3 when it comes out. And if possible - GTA 4 just to play it over.
In-game res 1280x800 with med/high lvl of details in Dx9 environment

GTA IV would probably have to be on low. Diablo 3 shouldn't be a problem knowing Blizzard. Bioshock should be fine. I'll let others handle the rest.

Thanks for your answer. I'm in Norge at the moment but on my way to the Middle East soon, and then to Danmark :D And afterwards somewhere else probably. I just read that a release info for GW2 won't be made before late 2010, maybe even 2011. Then I might be somewhere more permanently again and can have a desktop. That's why I ordered the small and portable 2530p now. At least it will run my old games perfectly well and as I don't care much about latest 3D effects I'll be happy with it. :D

Hey people, Okay here's the thing.
    Im getting a new laptop and im looking for a decent allrounder- mostly on the gaming aspects as to date. I've found the Acer Aspire 6930G and the spec's are as followed;

    Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 / 2 GHz ( Dual-Core )
    RAM - 3 GB (installed) / 4 GB (max) - DDR3 SDRAM ( 1 x 1 GB + 1 x 2 GB )
    Hard Drive - 250 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm
Operating System - Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
    Screen - 16' TFT 1366 x 768 ( WXGA ) - 24-bit (16.7 million colours) - CineCrystal
    Optical Drive - DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM - integrated
Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS

Im just wondering with these spec's if i could run:
    Left4dead, C&C:Red Alert 3, Supreme Commander, Age Of Empire:III.
---All smoothly at a Med/High setting.

    Thanks for your help :)

The ATI Radeon 3200 is one of the most powerful integrated graphics chipsets out there, but it's still integrated. You won't be playing CoD 3, 4 or 5 on high settings. Should be able to run them on low settings though.

I'm trying to play Grand Theft Auto IV but regardless of settings, I can't see far enough ahead in the game to get anywhere.

Sager NP5760, Vista Ultimate 64-bit, T7400 (2.16GHz), nVidia Go 7950GTX, 2GB RAM. Also, my graphics driver is nVidia version 7.15.11.7948 (179.48_notebook_winvista_64bit_beta).

Should my laptop be able to handle this game?

    Thanks!

Depends on what settings you are looking for... I would say COD4 and Oblivion yes you could run at high smoothly, In GTA4 and Crysis you would probably have to lower you settings to medium-medium high to get playable "smooth" frame rate

    crysis, aim for med-high native.
gta 4, med settings, because crappy console port needs quad cores to run smooth.

How does dell studio xps 13 run TF2, with m9500?

What setting are you using and what FPS do you get? ^^
Do you beleive that its possible to run on an external monitor with 1600x1200?

I dont want any estimations please, then I might get disapointed if i order it

I keep looking for "gaming" laptops that are in the $800-1100 range which are not flamboyantly flashy...

The g50vt-x5 is way too flashy..

I found a MSI GT627 which is really nice, not flashy at all. I could definitely see myself taking it to class and the such.

    WHAAAAAAAT? Diablo 3? :D :D :p :p

I guess that with a 9300GS you will be ablre to run it at medium at your native res.

Do some research the engine of Diablo 3 will be really dynamic, there are news and leaks that claim that a pc with even an ATI 9700 and a 2.0 Ghz Pentium 4, 1gb of ram will be able to run it, because those are the minium requirements.

Yeah I guess you are right, I might kidnap a blizzard dev, but ahhhhg I have to travel there first... :(

But to be honest I think that a 9300GS is a good card for minor gaming, its able to run the latest games in lower res. Also Diablo 3 (cant wait, Im a Diablo FAN!) doesnt seem to be a really demanding game.

Yeah, I have the 9300m GS (512 mb NOT the 256mb model), and its just fine. It can run CoD4 in 1280 X 768 resuloution with no problems.

Conclusion: It can handle basic gaming :)

It should be able to handle any of those games without any problem, but it depends on how much if at all the notebook manufacturer has crippled it to reduce heat.

The Asus N81vp with that card handles Crysis all medium quite great and Fear 2 all high I think.

The 4650 in the HP Pavilion dv7 has 1 GB GDDR3 and performs great, I don't know if there are DDR2 versions, but beware because performance would be much lower.

Hi I have a question regarding the mobility hd 4670. Will this card with 512mb of gddr3 run the following games on decent settings and good fps?
    Cod4
    Cod5
    Crysis warhead
    Farcry 2

And is this card better then a 9600m GS with 1GB ddr2?

It'll run all those games and yes, it's significantly better than the 9600M GS. The GDDR3 HD4670 even bests a 9600M GT GDDR3 soooo
