3Gb is more than enough. Neither of those games are RAM intensive so as long as you don't run say 2 of them at the same time, you'll be fine >.>

Ok thank you!

Hey I want to get a new laptop but I don't want to spend too much. I'm really just a casual gamer and I don't mind low quality as long as it's not buggy. I really love Fallout 3 and I was wondering if this laptop could run it : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...51&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3925181
2.10 GHz AMD Athlon X2 QL-64 Dual-Core Processor
4gb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8200M with up to 1919MB of memory
I know the 8200m is not a great video card, but I've looked on the net and I've seen as much people say it can run fallout 3 as people saying it can't.
My laptop currently has a 6150go and I can still play games from The Orange Box and stuff like that so I think a 8200m could play more recent games on lowish-medium settings.
Thanks! -
Officialy Bethesda states 8400m as minimum, but I think it will run Fallout 3, besides dual core CPU and lot of RAM in that laptop will help, also Fallout 3 is very moddable thanks to .cfg files just like in TES IV : Oblivion
-
I have 2 Notebooks and i would like to know which one is better and can play games such as Crysis, Warhammer, Sims3, COD5, Fallout 3. ETC
Intel® T9550 45nm "Montevina" Core2 Duo 2.66GHz w/6MB L2 On-die cache - 1066MHz FSB 35 watt - ASUS Default Processor
- nVidia GeForce GT 130M 1,024MB PCI-Express DDR2 DX10
- ~ 4,096MB DDR2 800 (2 SODIMMS) Dual Channel Memory -
- - 500GB 5400RPM 8MB Cache Buffer (Serial-ATA II 3GB/s)
OR
- -Intel® P8600 45nm "Montevina" Core2 Duo 2.40GHz w/3MB L2 On-die cache - 1066MHz FSB 25 watt - ENS
- nVidia GeForce 9800M GS 1024MB PCI-Express DDR3 DX10
- ~ 4,096MB DDR2 800 (2 SODIMMS) Dual Channel Memory
- 320GB 7200RPM Seagate -
I would defeantly choose the second one because the GPU has DDR3 memory and its much better than DDR2.
The second one will have no problems to run Crysis, Sims 3 and CoD 5 etc. -

Hi guys,
Wanted to know if this setup will play 'new' games like farcry 2 and crysis and Age of Conan on highest settings.
intel Core 2 Extreme 2.53 GHz quad core, GeForce Go GTX 260M 1G DDR3, 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM, 15.4" WUXGA+ (1920x1200)
thanks! -
those are extremely old and will run WoW but you will lagg in intensive places and Lich king will make you lag even more because the graphics were turned up for that expansion(only in northrend)
but if its what you really want the third is the best -
For three times as much? No way. They're all very outdated and if you want to play wow, you'll want a core duo. But if I had to choose, I'd buy the first for $225...
-
Hey guys, thinking about buying this notebook, wanted to know how well it would run WoW and Bioshock, thanks
2.13 GHz Core 2 Duo
4GB DDR2 667 RAM - Mushkin
Western Digital Scorpio Black 320GB 7200 RPM HD
Nvidia 9400M Card -
hmm ok well i did find a couple more laptops, one is a dell and other is alienware (alienware has low RAM but its fixable)
Dell
PROCESSOR: 2.13GHz Pentium Mobile
RAM: 2G
Graphics Card: 256MB nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra
Hard Drive: 80GB
Alienware
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 HT
RAM:1000 MB
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 9600 pro Graphics card
Hard Drive: 60 GB -
That AW is easily 6 years old lol
The Dell is serviceable, but how much? $250 is alright.
And in case you didn't know, Pentium M blows P4 out of the water. P4 is terrible... -
Purple please for the love of god save your money.
couple hundred more you can get a high end system not low low end -
Hiya, thinking of a new laptop, and I can get this one on a pretty good offer:
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/no/n...54-3837241-3896703.html?jumpid=reg_R1002_NONO
Yes, it's in Norwegian, so the core stats are:
CPU: Intel® Pentium® T4200 prosessor 2 GHz, level 2-cache 1 MB
RAM: 3072 MB DDR2
Screen: 15.6" 1366 x 768 resolution
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS 512MB
Main question: can it run WoW easily with the native resolution? It won't be used to do heavy fps, but I would like it to run some games decently for a while. In this price range I know I have to compromise of course, since it will primarily be used for studies. -
-
if you find a 9600m gt it will stomp that
-
Hi, first apologies if i have posted in the wrong forum.
Just bought a mint condition..
Samsung Q45 12.1-inch Laptop: Intel® Centrino® Processor T5550 1.83GHz, 3GB RAM, 320GB HDD with Itel GMA X3100 graphics (1280x800) Vista 32 bit Premium and i have was hoping to run a few games, even at low res.
I have loaded BF2 and the load screen just flashes briefly black and then back to the desktop. I have tried changing a few compatability settings but no luck yet... any advice appreciated.. thank you in advance... Sychnant -
Hi sychnant and welcome to NBR
best thing to do is look HERE and also run this Can i Run It
your above spec is better than my stanby laptop and i can run a lot of games on it so you shouldnt have many problems.
not sure what BF2 is doing but hopefully someone else will be able to help you with that. -
Yes you should use Can you run it http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
-
Thanks for the replies.. I appreciate your quick help.. Good Karma to you
)
-
ugh, i hate to say these specs
but is there anything this can run that is relatively modern?
or any good games from a few years ago. i prefer RPGs if it is possible
Genuine Inter(R) CPU T2050 @ 1.60Ghz 798Mhz
0.99Gb RAM
Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family
1280 x 800
Anything that you think, i do like most game categories -
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
Are you sure that BF2 can run on an X3100? I don't think BF2 works very well at all with Intel's IGP's.
-
It would problaly could run The Sims 3
-
-
i've got audiosurf and world of goo
fantasy wars looks worse than other RTS games i can play eg dawn of war 1
i have run quite alot on this overall,
any other suggestions, preferably games with a good single player?
graphics aren't really something i can ask for
beggers can't be choosers -
Fantasy wars should be a TBS last I remembered, however since you've basically contradicted yourself on your graphics expectations it's going to be quite hard to suggest something that's recent, looks good and will run on your system. As a rule any game released around the same time as Command and Conquers Generals will run alright on your system.
-
i said "graphics i can't ask for"... indicating i didn't want grapihcs
also i said "good games from a few years ago"
i'm not sure what you mean.. i looked at videos on youtube and it looked like a stratagy game.. i could be wrong -
I'm looking to play games like oblivion, cod4, starcraft 2, fallout 3, and modern warfare 2. Will this system be able to handle these, at any setting?
HDX16
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53GHz)
4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 130M
*two more things*
-does the video card use ddr2 or ddr3 memory?
-for how many years in the future will this rig be able to play games, at any setting? -
TBS stands for Turn- Based Strategy, which is a concept that might be difficult to understand if you're basing your judgement on grainy Youtube videos. Since you clearly like RTS games you could try games like Ground Control 2, Perimeter or Sacrifice which are similar and quite old so your limited configuration should have no problems playing the games. -
There are cards with ddr2 and ddr3 but from my quick research for your model I think it's ddr2, unfortunately.
You'll be able to play for some time but you will have to be loewring your settings more and more. -
Hey there - how do you think Crysis will run on my lappy (specs in sig) with newest patch 1.21 ? (I heard it improves fps and optimalization a lot compared to that of vanilla 1.0 version of the game)
I would like to play in native resolution - 1280x800, any possibility I could turn shaders on high at the expense of other details? -
Thanks.
Sorry about that. It's 1920x1080p -
Would Sims 3 run with everything low smoothly on my laptop?
Intel Pentium dual core T4200
3GB DDR2 RAM
Intel GMA 4500MHD up to 732mb -
Yup. It would work like a charm
-
Thanks
Edit : I had a blue screen of death after installing a few things.. I did a system restore to before I installed the most recent nvidia drivers so even if I know the most recent driver would increase performance, I don't want to have to do another system restore if it was really what caused the BSOD.. -
So can anyone tell me if I would be able to run WoW: WotLK with these specs:
Compaq Presario V6000
Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
AMD Turion 64 2.00 GHz MK-36
1 gig DDR2 667 RAM
The video card is an integrated piece, an NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150
I'll be upgrading the RAM to 4gb before I consider playing the game since Vista is a RAM .
Thanks in advance! -
Wow, GeForce Go 6100! A very old card, and its not very powerful (Scores 186-200 in 3Dmark06)
But yes, since WoW doesen't require the white out of the eyes, I would say it can run in really low settings (lowest res. lowest graphics etc.) with a low framerate (If you are lucky 30 fps) . But when you are in big areas - you are dead. -
here's a complete guide for it :
http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_1.html -
Woah great link! I disabled a couple of things and put a few modes on performance instead of quality and the difference is HUGE! I towns and where the was a lot of people it was slugging but now it's really smooth. I don't regret buying that laptop at all and it's because of you!
Added to your rep. Thanks man
-
Hey guys I'm new to the site so I apologize for my "noobness"
I was wondering if World of Warcraft can run with these specs in high resolution.
CPU - P7350(2.00GHz)
Mem - 4GB DDR2 800
GPU - Mobile HD 4670 512MB @ 1366x768
HDD - 320GB 5400RPM
Thanks in advance. -
-
-
I have 2 GB ram and I run CoD4 smoothly with high res. Ram do not do a big deal (But I recommend you atlest put 2 GB extra in you laptop). I'm sorry to say this, but your GPU is really weak (Same goes to the processor). But try, and come back with your results
My friend has a computer that has almost the same specs as yours and he plays with a low framerame, but he got used to it. He runs on XP. Please stick to XP. Upgrading to Vista require more of your computer, and most gamers choose XP instead of Vista. -
Thanks, I'm just hoping I can run it at about 1280X1040 res with low particle settings, no shadows, none of the lame frilly crap like the specular lighting or full screen glow effect... I played it on a piece of s#it desktop and it ran on those settings I just mentioned at around 15 fps, so I'm used to terrible quality... just hoping that the extra ram can at least put me around 30... We'll see
-
NP
I have just edited my earlier answer. Don't install Vista! XP is better in many ways and WoW will problaly run better on it.
EDIT: 1 more thing, I hope your lappy has a good cooling system because most laptops downclocks itself when it gets to hot. A bad deskop computer does not get warm, because much free air inside -
Just like mine 9650m GT 1 GB ok cool - nice card and WOW look on that dedicated memory....this card should own desktop 295 GTX ... but no - it's the horsepower that is more important than card memory -
^
2 GB extra would do his computer much faster. Maybe it would not improve his FPS, but it will increase the speed (E.g. when he has a lot of programs open.) -
