Soz that this is a Can my desktop run it. But can my desktop
Intel Core I7 (2.93Ghz)
8GB DDR3 RAM
ATI Radeon(TM) HD 4850 XT 512MB
play Crysis Warhead
GTA 4

left 4 dead?
soz again that this was a question about my desktop.

A person who buys a desktop with those specifications very well knows how those games will run. A good attempt to display to everyone what you have, but none the less those games will run more than fine on high settings with hardware like that.

I have Acer Aspire 6930G
CPU: Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz
GPU: Nvndia Geforce 9600 GS
RAM: 4 GB
Display: 1388x768
OS: Windows Vista 64-bit
I thought www.systemrequirementslab.com was accurate, it told me that I passed both the Minimum and Recommended requirements by a good percentage for Far Cry 2. But when I got the game I can't run it at the highest resolution and settings. I have to lower the resolution to 960x600 and have the performance settings between medum and high. Thats not what I expected, and even at that the frame rate its sill a bit clunky in intense shoot outs.
When I set it to Optimal it puts alot of settings a Low. Is this what system requirements lab means by recommended?
Also how well will my system run Call of Duty Word at War? -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Lowering settings and resolution is pretty standard fair for mid-range cards. And Far Cry 2 is a pretty demanding game so what you are saying doesn't sound terribly odd to me. However sometimes the drivers you are using can make a decent difference. As well as what's running in the background while you are gaming.
Kill any A/V or other apps while gaming.
See the Vista tweaking section for some hints on optimizing, but don't go crazy with that stuff.
Completely uninstall your current drivers, and use driver cleaner pro or similar app.
Get the latest "best" driver from laptopvideo2go or nvidia. 186.03 says up to 14% increase in performance for FC2, YMMV.
In COD5 I would expect a little better performance than FC2.
Give all that a go and let us know. Hope it helps.
-
I'm downloading the new drivers now, but Nvidia is telling me that my notebook requires me to downnload the drivers from Acer, because my drivers may contain features specific to my notebook such as power management or lid closure feature etc.
Is this a strict rule?
EDIT: Ok upgraded the drivers andthe first thing I noticed is that my Vista Performance rating went down to 4.8 from 4.9. Its only a .1 difference so I guess it does'nt matter right? I've also lost the 960x600 resolution. 800x600 is the next closet.
Anyway the %14 performance boost in Far Cry 2 is noticable, It runs "O.K." in 1280x720 with all settings on High. Anti Aliasing at 2x. I probably should lower the resolution a bit, but I did'nt have too much trouble.
Thanks for the tip. -
Asus G50VT-X1 - C2D 2.26GHz, 9800M GS & 4GB RAM, 1366 x 768
Would like to know if this could handle ESIV: Oblivion with Qarl's high res texture pack? Just want to be sure before I dl the 2GB texture pack  -
I think I am going to buy an hp tx2z with these specs:
CPU:AMD Turion X2Processor 2.1GHz
GPU:ATI RADEON HD 3200
RAM:4GB DDR2
Display:WXGA HD LCD touch screen 1280 x 800
And I wanted to know what setting I could run civ4 and age of empires 3. Thank you. -
It would be fine.
Probably medium or so, not positive though. -
Thinking about buying a ;
AMD Athlon x2 Dual Core Processor QL62
3Gb Memory
Nvidia Geforce 8200 Graphics Card
Just wondering if it can play games such as WoW, L4D, CSS, TF2 i know it wont play at high settings but im looking at low settings with a low res of probably 800x600. Thanks -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Bah! I think this is a bug in the nvidia driver, basically it is missing that resolution in its inf file (stupid 16:9 screens!). There's a few things you can try. One of these should work *crosses fingers*.
- Set a custom resolution using nvidia control panel.
- Download Powerstrip and use it to set your resolution.
- Add the resolution yourself to the inf file. (see below)
-
I had a laptop with a 9200M GS and it could play L4D, CSS & TF2 at 1280x800 med/high. So yes, 800x600 low, just :s

1. Can my notebook run any of these games :
Lord of The Rings Online Shadows of Angmar
2.LORD OF THE RINGS: BATTLE FOR MIDDLE EARTH 2
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Ring
2. If possible, then at what settings can i play the playable games?

Hey I want to know how well a Dell Studio XPS 16 would run Age of Empires 3, Empire: Total War, Crysis and Crysis Warhead with these specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 (6MB Cache, 2.66GHZ, 1066MHZ FSB)
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4670 1GB
RAM: 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM @ 1067 MHZ
I'm assuming AOE3 @ Max or extremely close to, ETW @ Med-High and Crysis @ Medium but what do you guys think? -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Probably low settings at 1280x800. -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Low settings, low res, don't expect much, especially on the newer games. -
Yep for AOE3, maybe only at medium for ETW, but probably low-medium for Crysis. The 4670 is just not powerful enough to handle Crysis too well especially if you have a higher resolution screen.
-
My old Geforce 9500M GS could handle Crysis just fine at medium settings running at 1280 x 800. The HD 4670 is plenty powerful to run medium settings at a fair resolution; that is unless he’s planning on running at 1080p.

Looking at a Sony SR4
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53 GHz
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 with 512MB Dedicated Video Memory
RAM: 4GB Ram
Display: 13.3" WXGA (1280 x 800) XBRITE-ECO LED Backlighting Display
Can it run Team fortress 2? as well as company of heroes?
(obviously on med. - low. settings, wouldnt expect high settings.)
Thanks. -
I think ur lappy can even run at high setting don worry man.

I might want to buy a notebook with these specs
Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9900 / 6MB L2 Cache, 3.06GHz, 1066MHz FSB
Nvidia GeForce G 105M Graphics with 512MB DDR2 Video Memory
Genuine MS Windows® VISTA ULTIMATE 64-Bit Edition
6GB DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz - 1 X 4GB + 1 X 2GB
500GB 7200rpm SATA 300 Hard Drive
Intel 4GB TurboMemory Module
Will it be able to run
-Sims 2/3
-Cod 4/5
-Starcraft
-Warcraft
-BF2
Thanks -
The only bottleneck with that system is the GPU. The Geforce G 105M isn't very powerful and it's around the same in performance as the Geforce 9400M. At any rate you'll still be able to play those games fine depending on your settings:
-Sims 2/3 = High settings
-Cod 4/5 = Medium
-Starcraft = high
-Warcraft = high
-BF2 = should run ok on high as long as you aren't going to be playing Project Reality mod -
What DOES the intel turbo memory do and how does it work?
-
The harddrive is the slowest part of any computer so anything that you do is somewhat dependent upon its speeds. RAM uses flash memory which is significantly faster so the harddrive stores materials that may be needed on RAM so when it is actually needed, the CPU/GPU can access it quickly.
Turbomemory basically does exactly that so its not really necessary unless you're running low on RAM which you won't be. -
Thanks for the Answer
Glad to hear that
My processor C2D P7350... and 4Gb RAM
p.s Could i run perhaps Fuel? -
anyone else have an opinion on it this one?
-
since your GPU is the same as the one Im about to own... I gotta say you will be able to run TF2 with Med-High settings with decent Frame rates...
You can always go
HERE
good luck -
Hi Everyone ! Thank you so much for your help ! I am considering buying an HP DV3T laptop computer. The specs are as follows:

how good do these laptops run assassins creed?
gt627: core 2 duo 2.26Ghz, 4GB RAM, 1280x800 screen, geforce 9800gs
gt725: core 2 du0 2.53 Ghz, 4GB RAM, 1680x1050 screen, radeon 4850
p7811: core 2 duo 2.26 Ghz, 4GB RAM, 1920x1200 screen, geforce 9800gts
benchmarks would be helpful too.. -
Hello, I am also considering buying a gateway with these specs:
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core Mobile processor T4200
GPU: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M
RAM: 4GB DDR2 667MHz Memory
Display: 15.6" HD Ultrabright Widescreen (1366 x 768 resolution)
So, could this laptop play civ4 and age of empires 3? -
Yup, it would run those two games like a charm, but it is not a gamer-computer. It has a really bad GPU, and the processor could be better. Civ4 and AOE 3 are both old games, if you want to run CoD4 or something similiar, it will problaly lag really much, in other words, it will not be able to run it.
-
The GT725 is your best bet (and i'm not just saying that because i have one), the HD4850 slightly outperforms the 9800gts ( http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4850.13975.0.html ) and the added clock speed of the processor will help, plus the processor can be overclocked on the GT725 using the 'Turbo' button (to about 3ghz)
All of these laptops will run assassins creed, but you will likely see a performance boost with the GT725
Blazin -
Civ4 will run, but keep most of the settings low since the game is not going to be maxed out on an integrated GPU.
-
I forgot to say something. Can I also play Age of Empires 3 with those specs? THX
-
ARMA 2 runs great on my GT725 on high, everything is smooth..
-
What specs would you recommend for running Crysis in an Asus G51?
CPU: P7350 2.00
GPU: Nvidia GTX 260m -
might run a bit better on your M17x
-
At 1366x768 you should be able to hit either Very High w/ no or 2xAA or High with 4x AA
4850 gives similar performance to a GTX 260m, and I can do High and 2xAA at 1680x1050 -
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000 2.0GHz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M Graphics with 1GB DDR3 Video Memory
4GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MHz
Intel 4GB TurboMemory Module
Run
-Crysis Warhead
-Age of Empires 3
-Cod4/5
-Sims 2/3
-starcraft 1/2 (when 2 comes out)
-warcraft
-gears of war
-L4D
THX -
You should be able to run Age of Empires 3 on medium/high. Maybe even higher since Age of Empires 3 is more CPU intensive and you have a pretty good CPU.
-
CPU: T6500 2.10GHz (might change to P7350 if recommended)
GPU: 4650 w/ 1GB vram
RAM: 4GB DDR2-SDRAM (DDR2-800)
Display: 1600x900
I'm very interested in the Sony Vaio FW Series, but I'm not sure how the 4650 performs. Can it run COD4, COD5, Mass Effect, or Bioshock? (or their sequels when they come out) -
It can run them better than any other midrange card, but you would definitely have to turn some settings to medium at that Resolution.
A High-end card like a GTX 260, 9800m, or HD 4850 will run the games better, but the 4650 is not a bad choice if battery life/portability/sony style is an issue. -
Hello,
I'm new here and also new to PC gaming. I just purchased the below laptop and also picked up Crysis, Crysis WH. It's choppy and unplayable, do you think it should be able to play it and if so at what FPS and resolution? If not what suggestions might you have or what might I not be doing right? Thanks so much in advance.
Alienware M17x
Intel Core2 Duo T9600 2.8GHz (6MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz 2 x 2048MB
17.0in, WUXGA,LCD,ANW,M17X
1GB Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M - SLI Enabled
320GB 7,200RPM (6MB Cache)
Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit Edition) with Service Pack 1
Slot-Loading Dual Layer Blu-ray Combo -
Firstly, you should be able to play crysis on at least medium/high settings, even on native res, and still have playable fps.
Secondly, you say you have ddr3 ram running at 1333mhz.. yet your processor only has a FSB of 1066mhz. is this possible?
Blazin -
Honestly, I wouldn't be able to say whether it's possible or not. I ordered all the components through Alienware with a rep and they never mentioned any concern.
I've been looking around and reading that I may need to download a updated driver. Do you think that would help?
When I set up the game I turn off Anti-Aliasing and all backdrop programs and still with everything set at low it's very choppy.
Any suggestions would be great, thanks so much. -
yes, it would be best to update your drivers (not sure which ones are newest for nvidia as i dont have a card by them), and also regarding the ddr3 ram, i think 1333mhz is the maximum it can perform at, although it will only be able to work at 1066mhz with that processor.
But honestly, on a laptop with those specs, you should easily be able to run crysis well. Have you tried changing the resolution down? -
Pardon my ignorance here, I'm a noob with computers. Would I change the resolution down on the game or though my video card?
-
You can do both both its usually best to do it through the game video settings.
-
You guys have been super helpful! I'm gonna give your suggestions a try ASAP. Thanks so much.
-
I read somewhere about this going on with the M17x. is your Laptop plugged in? and if it is is the power settings on performance? your graphics card might not be on, it could be using the intergrated one instead.
