Am I allowed to ask if a desktop can run a game in this thread? I checked out the "Can My Desktop Run it?" but not that much people answers it.

CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40Ghz, 3MB, 1066MHz)
OS: Vista SP1, would upgrade to 7 ASAP.
LCD: 15.6in at 1366x768
RAM: 4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
Video: 512MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4570
CoD: WaW, CoD4, MW2 when it comes out. There are no youtube videos of CoD.
Thanks again. If this can't run them, then I'll have to sacrifice the battery life and weight for the SXPS. -

@kimkellykari
It will run Oblivion at high settings with little to no problems -
These are the set-ups i'm looking at in laptops, which would be best to play Crysis on?
1) Memory: 4GB RAM DDR2, expandable to 8GB, 667MHz (PC2-5300)
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53Ghz
Video: NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600m GT 512 MB video card
Hard Drive: 500GB 5400rpm
2) Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 (2.4GHz/3MB L2 Cache)
4GB DDR2 SDRAM
500GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
ATI Radeon HD 512B 4530
3) AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core 2.10GHz RM-72
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics RS780
4GB DDR2 SDRAM 500GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
4) 4GB RAM DDR2, expandable to 8GB, 667MHz (PC2-5300)
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53Ghz
NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600m GT 512 MB video card
Hard Drive: 500GB 5400rpm sata hard drive
5) Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad Processor Q9000 (2.00Ghz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) - For 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 130M
640GB 7200RPM SATA Dual Hard Drive (320GB x 2)
Of course I'd pick #5 but its a little pricey! Sooo pick the best from 1-4 please : ). Thank you very much for your time! P.S. I'm new at this so if I've made a mistake/replying in the wrong way please forgive me : ) -
your best option would be number one or four
5 is obv the best options and it will run easily hands down.
i think that the 9600 will outperform the ati card -
Note that you should only expect medium settings on Crysis since the 9600M GT and the 130M are both midrange card.
If you get the 9600M GT, be sure to get GDDR3 since it offers alot better performance than the GDDR2 version of the card. -

Can I run, Fallout 3, Oblivion, COD4 with this notebook?

Radeon HD4670, although being middle range graphic card, when having GDDR3 memory becomes pretty powerful gaming choice. -

Very questionable I know, but can it play Empire Total War?
How about older games like Rome Total War or Command and Conquer Generals, Battlefield 2? -

Darth Bane Dark Lord of the Sith

But as Darth Bane said, if the 130m is using ddr3 get that one. It will give you better performance. -
@Darth bane: I believe that system 1 is DDR3 i count find it on the site. It was only under the RAM.
thank you guys. I found system 1 and after reading many reviews on it wanted to get it hands down, but the site is sold out till the 17thand I am kind of impatient lol so I went looking and found system 2, and wanted to get some expert opinions.

sry to tell you but I think Sims 3 would be unplayable because of your cpu and your ram. AOE 3 should be playable on medium, if not some things down to low. You should also lower your res. -
It won't even be able to play The Sims 3?!?! What if I upgrade to 2 GB of RAM?
Anyone else have any input on this? -
Although newer games can be scaled down to an extent, running something smoothly, especially with so much going on in the processes (your cpu will be your bottleneck in s3), is asking a lot of it. You will definitely need 2GB before the game will even start to any playable level (with your processor bottlenecking the processes, they will start to stack up).
Minimum system requirements for XP state a required 2.0GHz rated processor. If you overclock to 1.4-1.5GHz and add a gig of RAM, you may see a playable level of Sims 3 on the lowest settings possible. I, personally, consider playable >15fps in a game like this, as you do not need the 30+fps you do in a lot of games to maintain your level of play. -

I figure while I'm waiting on mine I may as well see if anybody has any idears on a 9400M (integrated). T9550, 5GB DDR3, Vista->W7x64, 1600x900.
I can't realistically think of anything I will play often except for CS:S and TF2. I look forward to giving a few things a whirl that I missed out on during my lapse without a PC... maybe Fallout 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, FEAR(1&2, haven't played either). I'm not going to hold my breath on Crysis, although that is an experience I have yet to play through.
I'm curious if you guys think I will be able to game the games I play more often (CS:S/TF2) at native res, and if I will be able to play the remainder of the games in the list at all? Lowered res does not bother me, nor does lacking aa/af. -
I was running CSS with a 7000m on medium specs and it ran smooth (I believe it was in the 60fps range). I think a 9400m should be good enough to run it at native res and decent specs.
Might be able to play the others on lowish settings.
