Will I be able to play Warcraft 3 DOTA in medium settings FLAWLESSLY?
(FPS never dropping below ~25 even in team clashes) -

Btw at aznprime817 idk about medium settings but I had a comp worse than yours (128 mb of ram 2.4 ghz celrion processer, integrated 32 mb graphics card) and it ran dota on the lowest settings with a little lag, but yours is alot better -
CoD4 and 5, then maybe CoD6:MW2.
Asus G51VX-RX05 from BB
Intel® Core2 Duo Mobile 2.0ghz
4GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M 1GB DDR3 -

I haven't seen specs yet either. I was just worried about the 2.0 processor, but with the overclocking ability and the upgradability, it will be fine.
-
-
The 260M is more powerful than the 4650.
-
To Eumenes:
The Dell Studio 1555 HD4570 are GDDR3 memory -
Just go to System Requirement Labs and check to see if you could run a specific gaame.

My new laptop (arrives saturday or monday)
Nvidia GTX 260m
4GB DDR2 800mhz
Intel C2D P8700 (2.53Ghz)
(Asus G51VX-X1A)
and I've also purchased the following games, to arrive in about the same time frame, am wondering what I can expect for play settings:
Crysis
Crysis: Warhead
Bioshock
Fallout 3
Left 4 Dead
Prototype
Mass Effect
Wolfenstein
ty. oh and I might do a bit of OCing on the 260m, and definitely the CPU, all depending on what my temps look like when I get it.
-
bioshock - max
fallout 3 - max
left 4 dead - max
prototype - high
mass effect - max
wolfenstien - max -
awesome
that works for me. got a STEAL on this laptop, 800$, was only used for a week by the original owner.
-
-
Wow! Did you find that on ebay or something?
-
You can also max out prototype. It runs 30fps and up on my g71gx at the highest settings.
-
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo P8800 (2.66GHz, 3MB of L2 cache, 1066MHz FSB)
GPU: 1024MB (DDR3) ATI Radeon Mobility HD 4650
RAM: 4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x2048MB)
Display: WUXGA (1920x1080)
I'm mainly wanting to play Civilization IV, Spore, and The Sims 3 on this laptop. I know it will run these games, but the question I have is: will it max out the settings (AA and AF at max, if possible) at this laptop's native resolution, 1920x1080? And additionally with good fps (30+)? Any help is appreciated! -
@okadam111 nope, actually a member of these forums
@zrehmz ty for the info! -

The Specs to my laptop are in my sig. I just installed Star Wars KOTOR II and I keep getting this message.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Has Stopped working. Aproblem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Any idea what is wrong and how I can fix it.
Another not is I added the game icon to my dell dock under my games section and then deleted my desk top icon. Could that cause the problem. It hasn't caused me any trouble before even with the Sims 2 -

On my home PC although I could not play the game (I got like 1 fps) I could run the game so I think what I am going to do is try it in XP compatability mode....how do I get to compatability mode on vista
-
-
HollywoodLights Notebook Consultant
Nothing. I I ran it in compatability modes for both XP and 2000 and I got nothing. Gonna try uninstalling and reinstalling it

Cored 2 Duo T6600
4096 MB, DDR2 PC2-6400
9600M GT (512 MB, GDDR2)
Oblivion (I can run it, but Oblivion says my system should only run it at 640x480) -
You should be able to run it very well on whatever native resolution you have. -
-
BTW for those that doubt the SXPS16 I can run Crysis Warhead all on gamer (minus motion blur) at 720p with 2xAA and it actually stayed between 20 and 25 FPS. It was not very stable but it was the just barely acceptable. I found no AA and one or two things set to enthusiast kept the FPS between 27 and 35. Hell for a 6lbs laptop with a GPU that is not specifically designed for gaming I would say that is pretty damn good. I can also run GRiD and DiRT at the highest settings with between 2-4xAA at around 60FPS.
-
"Video Settings have been set to low Quality" I'll probably just tweak around and see what it should be able to run at. -
Which of these laptops will run the following games the best? Age of Empires 2, Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft,
Laptops...
Toshiba:
AMD Athlon X2 QL-65
3GB of RAM
250GB HDD
ATI Radeon 3100.
Asus:
Intel Pentium Mobile Processor T4200
3GB of RAM
320GB HDD
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500
Gateway:
AMD Athlon X2 QL-64
4GB of RAM
320GB HDD
ATI Radeon HD 3200
Dell:
Intel Core2 Duo processor T6500
4GB of RAM
320GB HDD
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
I know none of these are graphical power houses but they are mainly for college with some light gaming on the side. -

Hello, I have recently bought a toshiba laptop and i will be using it for school, and diablo 2, 3. I will probably uninstall diablo 2 once i get 3 just so the computer runs smoother, but i dont know yet.
anyways heres the website for my laptop. it has all the specs in detail
http://laptops.toshiba.com/laptops/satellite/L500/L505-S6946
I will also sum it up for you if you don't feel like going to the website.
Intel core duo processor
3gb sdram
320gb HDD
16" widescreen display
Intel GMA 4500MHD
i have been doing some research and i'v seen that the graphics card i have isn't great (intel gma 4500 mhd) so i was wondering whats a great graphics card i could upgrade to for 60 dollars or less . thank you very much for reading this and your time. greatly appreciated -
Diablo 2 should run fine but Im not sure about Diablo 3... -
... But Diablo III is a tricky one. Intel GMA 4500HD is a weak card and it's intergrated. But Blizzard is known for making non-gpu-demanding-games. Can you tell me the processor? It could help
Edit: It's a T6400 I see. It's actually a pretty decent processor. Diablo III will in my eyes run OK in lowest/med-settings, but I'm not sure. If the computer gets hot and laggy, you can't play, but if it stays chill and cool: - You have a chance! -
I'm looking at 15-16" multimedia notebooks in the $1300-$1500 range. The HP HDX 16t and the Dell Studio XPS are on the list (see specs below). I'm leaning towards the HP mostly because of the Dell's heat issues and lack of NumPad.
I'd like to be able to play Aion and Final Fantasy XIV (target release date mid-2010, exact sys reqs unreleased) on high settings. Would either of these systems be able to do that?
How do these two systems compare? Are there other similar mainstream laptops that I should be considering?
Dell Studio XPS 16
CPU: Intel® Core 2 Duo P8700 (3MB cache/2.53GHz/1066Mhz FSB)
GPU: ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4670 1GB
RAM: 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1067MHz (2 Dimms)
Display: 16.0 inch RGBLED LCD (1920x1080)
HP HDX 16t
CPU: Intel® Core 2 Duo P8700 (3MB cache/2.53GHz/1066Mhz FSB)
GPU: 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 130M
RAM: 4GB DDR2 (2 Dimm)
Display: 16.0" High Definition Ultra BrightView Infinity Display (1920x1080p)
Thanks! -
I would say the Studio XPS16. The card is better on Notebookcheck plus I'm pretty sure the HDX16t uses DDR2 on their video cards, not the GDDR3 like Dell.
The XPS16 display is superior to the HDX16. Plus the RAM with the Studio XPS makes better use with the P8700.
