Hello, I have set my sights on this laptop :

    Model: MSI CR600-001US
    CPU: 2.0GHz Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4200
    GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8200M
    RAM: 3GB Dual Channel DDR2
    Display: 16.0 inch 1366 x 768

I would like to know if it could play these following games on a 1024 x 768 resolution (medium settings) :

    Age of Empires 3
    Civilization 4
    Sins of a Solar Empire
    Oblivion

    Thanks !

i hate to crush your hopes after that one guy said you will be able to run it but diablo 3 nearly no chance of running. while blizzard does make games that tend to run well on anything, diablo 3 wont be out till probably late 2010. the gma 4500 wont run it at all.

as for diablo 2, that will run well.

you cant upgrade graphics, but you can buy a vidock, but they are much more than 60 bucks.

hello, i posted a few days ago, asking about a prospective notebook buy and its chances of playing the sims 3. thanks Harleyquin07 for the reply! Now though, i made the choice of buying this laptop with the following specs:

    Model: Asus K40IJ
    Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 (2.1 GHz)
    2.0 GB RAM
    Windows Vista Business
    Intel GMA 4500

Game: Sims 3 even in low settings

I took a test online and it said that I passed all requirements except for the cpu speed. Those running vista needs 2.4 GHz CPU speed and i only have 2.1 GHz. So it seems like I can't run it...

However, I found a similar poster in the sims 3 official forum with the same situation. he/she also failed the cpu speed requirement yet she was able to play the game. she has 1.66 GHz. I have 2.1. So is there hope for my notebook to run the game? even in low settings?

Do you guys think Diablo 3 will run (once it comes out in 2010) on a:

    MSI GX623 with 4gb ram, Core 2 Duo P7350 and ATI 4670 512mb DDR3?

Let's say medium settings or so?

The 4330 is not a good videocard to say the least......

Don't run games at an aspect ratio different from your laptop's native one. It will make everything look distorted and quite horrible.

At best, you can chug along in Diablo 3 with low settings and low resolutions.

The others, its probably runable (more so for the older games) but don't expect anything fantastic

Can i run super smash bros brawl at around 30fps (someone said 45 was pushing it) on my laptop (sig)?
Also, if its running laggy, will lowering the resolution help or will it stay the same, cuz in melee at 800x600 and 1024x768 the fps stayed the same, the lag was the same amount....

I think the problem would be the emulator not your system(can dolphin run it at 30 fps now?), and putting the reso at native does help fps, or it did with melee for me anyways but only if your gpu is having trouble if its the emulator it wont do a thing

You can probaly handle around middle settings(you should hit 50-80 fps on bare min, so just up some settings but not to much),and future games you might be able to play just on bare min kinda settings

Alrighty then, I wasn't purchasing this as a hardcore gaming laptop! I was purchasing it to do some light gaming, i was just asking about Left 4 Dead and GTA 4 because I was curious....

"(grbac) @DS1395 - Don't even think of buying it unless it's for a case of beer."

^ that makes absolutely NO sense, you should think about what you're saying before you say it

Look, my point is, I was thinking about picking one of these up for about $250-275 as an alternative to a $400 crappy netbook with Atom and GMA 950 (that wouldn't even be able to play ANY games, and would be WAY slower than this) So I'm pretty sure that this is a really good buy for me....

DS, for $250 that is a good deal, and I would probably buy one if I needed a notebook for web browsing and such. What they were saying is that it's definitely not going to handle any modern games.

No problem. If it's in good condition, $250 seems fair. Should work fine for everyday use, along with light gaming. (Though all the uber-freaks will bash their banter because it doesn't have a GX260M)

The notebook is good for webbrowsing and older games but not for modern games like L4D and GTAIV because they will kill that card is what im saying since they are pretty demanding games and the card is old and have old technologies that i doubt it can play HD videos on Youtube.
