what about HD 3650
-
-
Much, much better card. it will be able to run GRID at 1280 by 800 and at medium-high settings.
-
9500m 256 mb and 9400m.
How would that do? -
are they better than the hd 3650
-
No. The 9500M is slightly worse than the 3650 and the 9400M is only slightly better than the 9200M..
And ATI cards tend to be cooler. -
any 15 laptops that have hd 3650?
is the sony fw almost the same size as a 15.4 inch notebook. -
A tiny bit larger. You should aim for a 9600M, which is better than a 3650.
http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np2096-custom-laptop-built-compal-jhl90-p-2409.html
or the 9650 which is better than the 9600.

Warcraft III, Counterstrike, Starcraft II, WOW, Need for Speed ON 8400M GS?
-
Hello again. Thanks for the response. I have i question yesterday i downloaded gpu-z to see the details of my gpu and it showed that it memory type is ddr2.
But my laptop documentation and the place i bought the pc say its GDDR3. So is gpu-z wrong or the documentation and shop wrong?
This is my laptop:
Acer Aspire 8920G-6A3G25BN - Core 2 Duo T5750 2 GHz - 18.4" TFT
Processor Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 / 2 GHz ( Dual-Core )
Memory caché 2 MB - L2
Memory RAM 3 GB - DDR2 SDRAM
HDD 250 GB - Serial ATA-150
GPU ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 GDDR3 SDRAM- 512 MB
It runs Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium and it has hypermemory of 1230. -
CS:S: High
Starcraft II: Depends on the processor but probably low
WOW: Low - Medium
NFS: Low - Medium
Where did it say it had GDDR3?
Double check with ATI tools or rivatuner. -
Game: Company of Heroes, Bioshock, Crysis, Fear 2: Project Origin
Specs: 2.2ghz dual core, 2 gb ram, 9600GT
Question: At what settings? (detail plz) -
@BoomFist, Well, I would trust GPU-z over people trying to sell you their product...
-
Bioshock: High DX10 1280 x 800
Crysis: Medium 1280 x 800 -
-= Intel® Core 2 Duo P8400 (2.20GHz/1066Mhz FSB/3MB cache
-= 4GB3 Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 800MHz
-= 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450
-= Vista Home SP1
Could this handle Guitar Hero 3?
Aspyr's website doesn't list compatibility for any mobile ATI chipset:
SUPPORTED MOBILE CHIPSETS:
NVIDIA GEFORCE GO 7600 (XP Only)
NVIDIA GEFORCE GO 7800
NVIDIA GEFORCE GO 7900
NVIDIA GEFORCE GO 8400
NVIDIA GEFORCE GO 8700
Intel GMA X3100, 4500MHD, 4700MHD

As much as a PC fanboy I am I find myself trying to convince a practically non-gamer college student to get a cheaper laptop for $700 instead of this system for $1,000 and use the saved money to buy an Xbox 360 and the 360 version of GH3 to avoid compatibility issues. -
thanks alot.

How well would this manage on current games? I'd don't expect much performance but I can still hope =)
ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 Graphics with up to 2048 MB of HyperMemory™ (256 MB of dedicated system memory, up to 1792 MB of shared system memory)
AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core 2Ghz with 1MB L2 Cache
4GB RAM DDR2
320GB 5400rpm HDD
Vista Home Premium -
Any games in particular you want to play? -
The games that I have at the minute aren't very demanding at all, and I'd expect them to work on GPUs as weak as a Intel 3100.
The games that I would be interested in getting depend on how good you think this GPU would play them. I'd be interested in Call of Duty 4 (at lowest settings in necessary) and Dawn of War II, which comes out in mid-February.
And by "It will run most current games, but with the newer ones everything will be down at low for the most part." Do you mean it could play the very latest things on minimum settings, like Crysis and FEAR 2?? -
Well most doesn't include power hungry type games usually. Crysis, GTA IV and the like won't run properly on the HD3200. Crysis Warhead on the other hand is said to run at 800*600 and lowest settings.
And CoD4 should run without many issues last I checked. -
Hey guys, I'm new here, I've bought a Dell Vostro 1510 with these specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo T5670 (1.8GHz, 2M L2 Cache, 800MHz)
3GB RAM,DDR2,667MHZ,2 DIMM
256MB NVIDIA GEFORCE 8400M GS
...and I would want to know if I can run these games at 800x600 resolution without filters like AA, AF, Vsync and etc...(maybe with high settings):
Race Driver GRID, COD4, Medal of Honor Airborne, Test Drive Unlimited, GTR2, BIA Hell's Highway, and why not, Mirror's Edge.
and, which is the best driver for this video card?
Tx a lot and, by the way, excellent forum! -
Thanks for that Melody, and out of interest, where do you get you GPU information from? It seems very good!
-
Nvidia's official drivers are good from what i hear, just try the latest one. -
and thanks for the driver tip!!!I will try the latest driver, when my notebook arrive, I'm relaxed now knowing these games will run without big problems.
I'd like to buy a notebook with a 8600M GT, my friend has one and he can play even GTA 4 with good graphics without problems, but, notebooks with this video card is very expensive here in Brazil. -
Info can be found around here. many users have posted their results about some GPUs and other information can be found on sites and extrapolation on how other GPUs perform. We have quite a few charts here concerning GPUs so you can always consult them as well -
-
thanks again for this tip....I will search good prices of notebooks with these video boards...but....unfortunately I already bought this Vostro 1510, I will have to get good times with a 8400M GS. But it's good to me, it will be my first notebook, I hope can to play sometimes without problems.
regards man! -
Hey guys, just wanted to see if my SXPS 16 could run CoD4, possibly Civ 4 and COD: WaW and what their potential max settings would be.
Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 (2.26GHz/1066Mhz FSB/3M L2 Cache)
4GB, DDR3, 1067 MHz 2 Dimm forXPS 1640
ATI Mobility RADEON M86XT (3670/3650) - 512MB -
1) Dead Space
2) Crysis
3) COD 4
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P9600 (2.66GHz)
3GB DDR3 RAM
320GB 7200RPM
Nvidia Geforce 9300M GS -
@runee,
Crysis will struggle., you're looking at low settings and a low resolution. COD4 will be fine at 1280 by 800 and medium-high settings. Dead Space I have no idea about. -
Low - medium @ 1024 x 768 is the tried and trusted setting for cards around the 9300m performance mark with COD4, Dead Space will be similar.
Does COD4 & 5 really max out @ WXGA+ on a 3650? I wouldn't have thought so unless you turn the dynamic lighting/shadows down a whole lot -
Thanks again Melody =)

Hey guys, I have new Toshiba A300 laptop with x3100 C2D T5550 and 2Gb of ram. I've tried to run DeusEx on it, as i love old games, and this is one of my favourites. And it runs really poor, lags everywhere. Am I doing something wrong or this video card is so bad that even worse than my brother's ATI onboard with 16mb? I'm really confused :?
-
-
Yes, I have Vista Home premium with SP1, my brother has Windows XP and as i see it runs game much better that my super hi-end laptop : /
-
Deus ex 2 doesn't run so well on vista so i'd guess the original would be even worse. Try searching using google to see if there's any fixes.

I have a Dell XPS m1530. 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo, 3gb Ram, 8600GT 256mb graphics card, 250gb 5400 rpm drive, and Vista Ultimate. I was wondering how my rig will handle....
1) Fallout 3
2) FEAR 2
3) DIRT
4) Sims 3
5) World of Warcraft
I am sure it will be fine on Warcraft, and pretty sure about Sims 3, but was wondering what kind of FPS I can expect from the other 3. If I turn some settings down can I expect at least 30 FPS on the first 3? -
I was trying whole day, i found nothing : / . Tried running on single core, bit better but still very laggy. Any other ideas?
-
Now I am new here and this may be off the wall. I can't remember fully how I did it, but in college I loved the game NOX. I still have a copy of it and last year got an itch to play so I put it in my new Vista machine. It didn't run, froze, ect. ect. ect. Well, obviously the game is almost 10 years old so it wasn't designed for Vista. Some how there was a setting I changed to make the game run in Vista but it was simulating Windows ME. I don't remember how or what I did, but I remember it gave me the option to run the game under a different operating system and gave me a bunch of choices. Sorry I can't be more of a help, and I may be totally off base, but am just letting you know.......
-
Thanks for the help plasma.
-
Right click the shortcut for the game, select properties, open the compatibility tab, check "run this program in compatibility mode for", and try windows 98/me.
If the game doesn't run at all it probably won't help much though. -
Light Blue Marker Notebook Enthusiast
Hi,
I haven't really bought this laptop yet but I was wondering if this Dell Studio XPS 13 can play the following games in the following settings
Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4GHz
4GB DDR3
320GB 7200RPM
NVIDIA GeForce 9500M - 256MB
1. World of Warcraft
2. Left 4 Dead
3. Steam games (ie. CS, DoD, TF2, Portals)
Low-Medium Settings, 1024x768, hopefully 50-60FPS.
Thank you for your time. -
T9400, Intel X4500, 4GB RAM on a WXGA+ display (would settle for running at lower res if necessary):
Fallout 3
Sins of a Solar Empire
Diablo II
WoW
Lord of the Rings Online -
This isn't a questions about a specific netbook, as much as it's a question about them in general.
If I upgraded the ram, to 2gb say, would I be able to run WC3, or Diablo 2 at low/medium settings? I know nothing about netbooks, so I apologize if this is a stupid questions which will be answered with "No way, everything will chug like hell".
I'm probably going to get a cheaper desktop and was just hoping I could play Dota on the go sometimes! I'm sure there are other college students who need to pickup a cheap-as-possible laptop, but still want their games (albeit one which is years old) -
vinceboiii Animals are friends, not food.
i'd say look for something that offers you the INTEL 4500MHD
-
-
vinceboiii Animals are friends, not food.
oh thats for you, theres really no netbooks out there with a dedicated gfx card, there is one 10" laptop that has a dedicated gfx card that allows you to play games, the Asus N10, other than that the other netbooks come with the intel GMA950
-
What settings will my Studio 15 with a T5750 processor and the ATI 3450 GPU be able to run Warhammer DOWII?
-
i might be getting F3 today. i need recommendation on setting to get great performance.
-
