You will be able to max out pretty much all them except for the big taxers in Crysis and GTAIV which you'll be able to run on medium/high.

Hello all, can I run mass effect on my specs? I don't mind running everything on low at 1280X800, but I don't want it to be a slideshow either.

    Toshiba L305-S5915

    3gb ram
    Intel T3400 processor
    WD 320gb 7200rpm HDD
I think it has the generic intel 4500 integrated graphics.

I'm not looking to be able to run Crysis or Mirror's Edge on these specs, but I was wondering if I'd be able to play games like TF2, WoW, and Portal with decent settings on a rig like this:

    - Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core T3400 2.16GHz 1MB Cache (667MHz FSB)
    - Graphics: Intel GMA X4500
    - Memory: 2GB DDR2 RAM

WoW being the most important. I'd like to have a steady 25fps while raiding at least, instead of my sucky 2fps.

If you're playing the newest expansion then you probably won't get the FPS you like what with all the increased graphical features, the game will run but you must be willing to tolerate slowdowns in heavily populated areas. Main problem of the configuration is the weak integrated card and a low-end dual core CPU.

Thanks for the reply. :) I'm only looking to run WoW at around 20fps, if that. Any thing is better than raiding with 2fps and being mad at my situation because of it.

    Thanks again!

    RA3: Medium - High @ 1280 x 800
    Spore: High @ 1440 x 900
SC2: It'll run, hopefully around the medium mark if the games well optimised.

    FFXI: High
    WOW: High
    COD5: High
    CS: Maxed

    Low @ 1024 x 768.

High - V/high with medium shadows @ 1280 x 800. Terrain is a big performance hit for me so try turning that down first if you want more frames.
Physics, fire and real tree all to v/high(processor dependant)

No sorry, it barely runs on low @ 1024 x 640 on my overclocked 8400m GT.

Judging from the requirements you should be able to run the game on low at least(probably medium)

If you want a decent framerate you'll have to play TF2 and WOW on low, portal you can try on medium because there isn't a whole lot of action in the game, it's probably best to set the portal render depth to as low as it can go though.

my dv5t replacement is coming next week and to my surprise they upgraded me from a 4500mhd and a p8400 to a p8600 and a 9600M GT! apparently HP's 9600M GTs are DDR2 instead of GDDR3 but oh well.

I'm curious to wonder how these games will run. Not willing to go down to 1280x800 or 1024x768 or anything. My native res is 1680x1050 and I'd like to play at that.

    - Crysis at medium
    - UT3 at med-high
    - COD4 at med-high
    - Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl at high
    - TF2 at high
    - L4D at med-high
    - Fallout 3 at med-high
    - Oblivion at high
    - World in Conflict at medium

I have no experience with discrete laptop GPUs (I have an 8800GTX in my desktop and I assume the 9600M is about 60% as fast?) and my 4500MHD couldn't run sh*t (warcraft 3 @ 50fps lol) so I'll be happy for any input on the 9600M for any of these games. thanks!

9600m GT isn't as strong as the 8800m GTX, it's approximately 10-15% stronger than my card (8600m GT DDR2) in artificial benchmarks so you'll be seeing roughly those settings you estimated in the games you've listed.

    Crysis won't run at medium @ 1680 x 1050 though.

The 8800 GTX is about 3x - 4x as powerfull.

What he said, I didn't read the part about wanting to stay at native resolution which means the more demanding games like Crysis, COD4 and WiC will need to have graphical settings reduced quite considerably to be playable at 1680x1050.

    RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
CPU: Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 2.4GHz or faster required.
MEMORY: 512 MB RAM or higher required.
GRAPHICS CARD: 128 MB 3D graphics card with Vertex Shader and Pixel Shader (VS/PS) capability required

I would think so, the graphics are fairly basic for those games.

    Crysis: Medium
    COD: Med - High
    WiC: Med - High
    FO3: Med - High

They should all run pretty well on those settings at your native res.

Hello folks, new to the site here and new to gaming/computing. I just bought a HP PAVILION DV7-1270US-E NOTEBOOK PC and was wondering if this computer is good enough to run WoW WOTLK and CoD 4/5 on maximum settings. I understand this isent what you might classify as a "gaming" PC but will it get the job done? Considering I'm not an avid gamer I don't require the best of the best on the market. I just want something that will get the job done with out causing me headaches aka lagging and bad graphics. If anyone could provide your professional help, ideas, comments or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated by the "newbie". Thanks and take care all!

I doubt you'll be able to max those games out at 1440 x 900, maybe high settings at 1280 x 800.

    l4D: Medium @ 1280 x 800
    COD4: Low - Medium @ 1024 x 768
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=295866

    COD4: High @ 1280 x 800
    COD WaW: Similar to above^
    Crysis: Medium @ 1280 x 800
    Crysis Warhead: Med - High @ 1280 x 800
    Fallout 3: Med - High @ 1280 x 800

Or, we can re-organize the question as follows:

    T9400 / 9800 GS / 4GB DDR2 + GTA IV = ?

I am thinking about buying GTA IV and play it on my G50VTA1 (which is my main gaming system, as my desktop is an old AMD +4200 with an x1800xt).

Is it worth it? Will the game work on say medium with a decent frame rate around 25-30?

Does anyone it have running on a g50 and can upload a video or something to Youtube or give me sample images so I can see exactly how things are before I buy?

    Thanks a lot, :)

HP Pavilian with a 64 bit version of windows vista
AMD Turion(tm) X2 Dual- Core Mobile RM- 72 (2.1 GHZ)
    4 GB DDR2 Memory
    160 GB hard drive
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics card with 1918 MB HyperMemory

These are the specs of a new Laptop I just bought and I was curius if there would be any way I could play such games as Oblivion or Supreme Comander? I was also considering switching back to Windows XP if that might help my performance. Any help would be fantastic!

With the latest patch, you should be able to play it at 1280x800 and medium settings.

Both games will run but your settings and resolution will have to start low and work your way up slowly. The 3200 may be a powerful integrated card but it's equivalent in performance to roughly a 8400GS. XP might give you a small boost (max 5%) to performance but not worth switching to if you already have x64 Vista installed.

    My laptop specs are:

    Win 7 Beta (7000 build) 64-bit
HP Tx2500 tablet PC with ATi Radeon HD3200 IGP
    3 Gb RAM
    AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-core @ 2.4Ghz
    250 Gb HDD @ 5400 rpm

Can it run the following games?

    -Flight Simulator X

Thanks in advance for your responses... would save me a lot of trouble! :)

The 2nd should play, the 1st and 3rd may or may not run at all. If they do run be prepared to sacrifice settings and resolution for playable framerates.

You should be able to push some settings to medium with race driver grid if you use a low res like 800 x 600.
Flight sim x has very low system requirements but i have seen high end sli desktop setups straining to run it with 30 fps with high settings and res so use the lowest settings available to start and work your way up.
