Absolutely. Using Origin is actually the only way of activating the game.

i pre ordered last year as ive always liked the crysis games from the beginning and i think im going to like this one also.
i just couldnt get into the hunter bow so will be sticking to my fave crash site.

Oh my good those videos look awesome. especially the last one. I'm really happy I pre-ordered the game. hunter mode is going to be great fun, too bad I suck with the bow.

I hope they introduce 3 really good perks so that those who choose the noobish auto-armour can only choose 2 of them and are at a disadvantage.

dont worry, im crap at the bow as well
hunter mode is a bit strange as i tried all varients. run and hunt with the cell pack or just hide. and i scored more points just hiding from the hunter.


im seriously thinking of setting up a 16 player server. any idea of the rules about using the tag NBR

 

yeah hiding seems to work better for me too.

A NBR server would be awesome. As for rules about the tag, ask the battlefield guys, I think hockeymass set up the server or was involved with it. not sure though

 

super stoked about this game. judging by the tech vids the beta was really just beta as far as graphics go...I personally think this game will look even better and run better as well as having much much higher LOD

anyone with single 680m gpu, what is the average fps you are getting on crysis 3 beta?

 

think i was getting between 40-60 but i dont really monitor them.
as long as i can play the game witout any lag im happy.

 

Initials NBR aren't copyright, and you can call it whatever you want, just use like "unofficial NBR server" or whatever.

For those who have 7970m crossfire, what's your average fps on max settings for Crysis 3?

is it me or crysis 3 just killed my computer? omg it is soooooo much more better than crysis 2! the rain in the first mission is absolutely nuts, i am getting about 20 fps not even close to max (and gpu usage is about 90 percent) anyone getting similar stuff? game looks GOOD!

 

i havnt got the time to change vpn to get early access like so many people are doing.

note to EA/Crytek please do a general worldwide unlock next time as its a pain in the a$$ having to wait while so many other of our countrymen are cheating and unlocking with a japanese vpn

omg the game looks even better than those seven wonders of crysis videos... the vegetation is NUTS! (btw I saw some beta videos, I can swear the actual game looks a ton better)

 

I think I'm gonna snag this after work today. Should be a worthy test for my new desktop rig.

Does EA ban you from Origin if you use VPN to unlock for those who don't live in yankland? I know Steam does for some unlucky people so I'm cautious. May just be wiser to wait 'till Friday...

thats why im waiting i did look at a few bits of software to change ip address through hidden tunnel but then thought its not worth the risk.
it pisses me off seeing people bragging openly on the crytek forum about doing it and saying how wonderful the game is.
oh well, only 2 days to go and then we have all weekend to test it out.

I want to walk through that lushous virtual grass they showed on the trailers sooo much - and be in awe. Even though I won't be able to play it at max, I have the feeling I'll still be impressed by the looks

 

japanese were the first to get it 2-3 days ago. the release dates were all messed up on origin.

me will decide tonight if i can be bothered to set up a dedi server. might just cal it mrdj's as naming it with nbr in the title might be pointless as worldwide pings will be high.

 

Aside from some goofy quirks (I ran into a bug where the fog above a pool of water flickered when viewed from a certain angle), this game looks brilliant. My desktop easily handles everything on High and I have comfortable framerates with most settings on Very High. The detail, down to little markings on the weapons and the blades of grass in the wind, is beautiful. And the bow is just good old fashioned fun. I'm normally not a fan of bows/crossbows in modern/futuristic shooters, but this one works.

 

Just for kicks, anyone play it on a GTX 670m yet? Wondering how depressed I am gonna be.

at least i wont have to go through what i did with crysis 2 on release day.

after loading my dedi server and being in game setup for about 20 minutes my 9800GT died. was replaced same day under warranty to a 260gtx but im taking no chances this time 680gtx ready to be pusshed to its max and an inch of its life.

 

can you really max it with 680m?? (curious)

I am playing it with high settings (not very high) and still I get between 20-30fps with open environments (game looks gorgeous though)

 

ive heard high is the highest it will go and theres no ultra this time.
will be interesting to see what i can get out of it. i dont OC so wont be able to get the cards full potential

 

I would say no, because my desktop 670 OC struggles with everything maxed and AA on.

 

yea that's what I thought, 7970m is also struggling at high (there is very high in the game settings), but high is good enough, medium post processing, 8xAnisotropic and 2xFXAA, the game looks gorgeous, absolutely beautiful

 

What about benchmarks, guys? Interesting, how it runs on very high settings with all maxed out and the highest anisotropic and antialiasing. Also interesting to see how stock and overclocked gtx 680m put on knees this game (or not) and sli, crossfire benchmarks. Thanks!

 

Well this is annoying. I've been waiting for my copy of Crysis 3 to show up (I ordered it from Amazon on Feb 4th to take advantage of a $20 rebate) and it still hasn't gotten here, so I went online to check my orders and it's not there. I checked my bank account for charges and I hadn't been charged either, so I guess there was a problem when I tried to make the order that prevented it from going through. Now I can't get the $20 rebate for preordering it.

 

You're not missing out on much. It has a 5 hour campaign. I bet EA put the presure on again and the game got rushed just like ME3. I'm not even gonna waste money on it.

 

I was disappointed to hear about the length, butI'm just enough of a graphics to enjoy it regardless lol

 

anyone want to test this piece of crap below out for me as i cant until friday.

I bought it because A) I loved Crysis 2 and B) I wanted to see what my desktop was capable of.

control panel is real pants and theres no way to rotate game type so when im at work whatever i set it to it stays. crashsite at moment.

I loved Crysis 2 as well. I wish Crysis 3 was the same length though.

 

So is this game the new king of graphics?

how does it compare to crysis warhead or crysis with mods? or even crysis 2 with mods? pictures would be nice
