I've been using a silenced sniper rifle and pistol to shoot cameras that cant be bypassed with stealth. No question there is another play through where I'm going to go into intelligence and work the hack angle. Going back to this play through I'm going to start digging into crafting now that I've got a feel for the game play and see what that's all about.
This game is actually better than I expected. I was thinking Witcher in the Cyberpunk universe; what could go wrong? Pretty much digging it all except the bugs and driving the cars. I hate driving cars in video games and you can't get around it in this one because there is no fast travel. I'd like them to put in a function that lets you fast travel your car as in shift+F will put you through the animation of getting in the car, you see a little warp speed, and then you get out. Travel done and thank you for not making me suffer through ten minutes of that god awful driving every time I want to go somewhere.
-
I like driving. Game seems very fun so far! -
There are fast travel stations, it's the stations with the purple icons. You can find one right outside Afterlife. I have not used one yet but I found one and it offered for me to fast travel but I exited.krabman likes this.

Same! It’s 3AM now where I live now, time for bed. I’ve gotta stop playing I’m hooked, I made a lot of progress today! They did a phenomenal job with visuals and physics. I love the Ultra RT preset. I’m
Happy with the game. $60 bucks well spent. I have never purchased a game from GOG.com before. They said 100% of funds go to developer which is pretty cool I think. And Steam is kinda sluggish in its own weird ways anyways even running on super computers lol, I was worried about not buying the game on steam. glad I didn’t buy it on steam now though. I like the Galaxy GOG app Better.
Solid game! -

I'm really glad my P775TM with 8700K and gtx 1080 can pull the game nicely. I'm running Ultra settings on 1080p (obvs without RT and DLSS) and I'm getting an average of 45fps, never dipping below 30fps, which is alright for this type of game. Temps are around 80°C for the CPU, 77°C for the GPU.
Played for 3 hours straight, didn't really encounter bugs up until now. Really immersive game. -

The city design is great it's made me just want to explore on foot as there is so many paths and things to see.

And for some reason they didn't include walk function. But there's apparently a mod for it already - https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/37?tab=description
Hopefully they will patch it this feature... -

Photo mode is great too. The game really does look incredible.
-
I got up from my chair 3 times this morning because I thought I heard my GF get home, but I figured out it's just some random background noise in this game. Even the sounds are amazing and really pull you in to make you feel like you're there.
-
LOL.. me too! HRTF works really well in this game as every once in a while I was hearing sounds that actually sounded like they were outside or in the other room and I had to stop and listen for as sec.
-
That happen to me too guys. I heard a stomping noise. And it sounded like my kids walking through the house. I too took my headphones off, and turned around to look. Like wtf?
-
Audio is a mixed feeling for me.
One of the first missions, when you enter the apartment where you get the girl in the bathtub, the techno music blaring sounded awesome! Complete with speaker distortion and things rattling about.
However, during conversations, specially in closed environments, like an elevator, the echo effect is unrealistic and distracting. I wish we had more audio settings.
I wish we had more settings overall. I feel the game is missing a lot of performance settings with TAA enabled by default. Control settings because the mouse has weird acceleration built in. Sound settings for the issue described and Key Binding settings because keyboard support is really no better than a straight console port. I freakin' hate the 'double-tap WASD' do dodge. Already threw myself of some buildings just by doing dodges by mistake...
The police is worse than in GTA3. They don't drive cars, they don't chase you. An elite medical team takes 3mins to arrive somewhere but these cops just spawn right next to you when you're not looking. Keep killing them, they keep spawning. Very basic way to go about this.
Overall the game shows promise but is massivley unpolished. Needs a fair bit of attention still. I think I'm gonna pick it up again next February or March for a full experience. -
Same here. I feel that on a regular monitor the default 80 degree fov is too small. I've set mine to 85, maybe could do even a bit more.
Yep, I like what they did with the audio. Did exactly the same a few times, took off my headphones to listen to some weird noise which surely came from real life... nope
Just finished the prologue last night... man what a roller coaster.
Right after the prologue:
man I was mad... I was really getting to like Jackie. I was sure he'd be my buddy throughout the game. -
Ah, you mean those almost purplish icons? I've been meaning to stop and check one of those out and see what it was but I've been too busy with all the stuff you can do. Thank you! As I said previously I watched a tuber I regularly watch who was saying his belief was that there where many videos up wherein in his opinion the person posting that video had not played the game. He wasn't specific about which outlets. In any event I'm thinking now in hindsight any video where someone says there was not much to do and I saw a few of those. Not much to do? Seriously? I'm 10 hours in and haven't even crafted my first item yet. I've barely started working my way out in the perk tree. The story is just got into the meat of the arc. There is so much map to explore it's crazy. Yeah, I call BS on any outlet that made that claim.
In other tidbits regarding the game I had meant to mention that helping out the locals getting robbed and so on can be lucrative. I had been busy just trying to pick off the side quests I received during the tutorial (and the side quests I picked up while doing the side quests I picked up in the tutorial) and had been driving right by that kind of thing but as I started to get things figured out I began to pick off some of the ambient stuff just going on around me. Turns out you get a nice little shot of experience and a reward if the PD asked for assistance. There is also a chance you'll put down a higher tier baddy that may give up better than usual loot, an epic for example. Folks that have been skipping that stuff may want to consider trying it out if they're of a mind. -
I wish there were less graphic settings, I don't want to aimlessly tweak them and the couple I have played with are clear at the bottom so I have to scroll though a bunch of settings I will never change.

One thing I haven't quite figured out yet is that you seem to be able to just incapacitate people without killing them. I'm wondering if there isn't some part of the game that's influenced if you end up killing people or not. There was one "boss" type enemy that this seemed to happen to, after I thought I won the fight I was looting and noticed there was still movement. Carved out half of his head with my pistol and a bunch of street cred etc notifications were triggered. I dunno if it was just delayed conicidence. The description of some of the weapons specifically says incapacitates doesn't kill. Wonder if it comes up in certain situations or if it's a playstyle of killing or not that actually ends up having some effect on things. I haven't seen anything in the game actually tell me.
Like if I finish off gang members that harass and attack me on the street does that mean anything? -
The presets are very nice and well optimized. It defaulted my system to UltraRT at 1440P it runs great. I messed around with Ultra RT off and DLSS off too. But Ultra RT seems to be the best option for me.
-
Yeah that's the conclusion I came to too. I didn't gain enough FPS with RT off and DLSS on high perf to make it worthwhile so I ended up with ultra RT 1440p, but manually set DLSS to quality.
While the few bugs I've seen haven't bothered me yet the crashing which comes and goes is. Tried everything I could find online and nothing seems to help. About once an hr it will crash at random times, but usually right at a custscene or dialog option. Doesn't do it while I'm just walking around playing. If it keeps up I will switch to my laptop and see if it continues there.
At 10 hrs in I've already got more value than many triple A games I've played! -
Yep, setting DLSS to quality is nice, it improves image quality a little. Mostly noticeable on a vehicles paint. You see the metallic sparkles in the paint much easier and clearer when DLSS manually set to “Quality” VS. just “Default Auto”. I sometimes go back and forward from running Ultra RT Auto DLSS to Ultra RT Quality DLSS.
Also I put the global illumination on Psycho. It doesn’t impact performance at all?
The DLSS works incredible though! And the ray tracing on top of the games already stellar lighting is beautiful. I can’t wait to play more.
There are minor bugs I look past. But performance is always perfect! I’m surprised I can stay 65FPS all the time on Ultra RT “Auto DLSS. So they certainly did a great job.
Cyberpunk 2077 also leverages all (36) of my 7980XE’s threads during gameplay. So GPU usage is always 99% and very consistent all the time. It never drops. And no skips or pops when zooming across the map very quickly either.
I can see weaker CPU’s maybe causing trouble. Especially at lower resolutions.Last edited: Dec 11, 2020 -
One place where it does matter is on quests where your requested to keep the body count down or zero. I always quick save before encounters and have tried non-lethal vs guns blazing on the same fight with random city thugs and didn't see any discernable difference. Not saying there isn't one but I haven't seen it. With quests on the other hand I was the recipient of considerable scorn and condemnation from a fixer for the bloodbath I accidently precipitated after guns were drawn when I was made. No offer of work has been made from that fixer since, not sure if that's coincidence or by design. There is a lot to take in with this game.
-
If someone is still alive on the ground after you’ve incapacitated them, a shot to the head kills them for sure, and they stop moving.
-
Yeah, I was just wondering if there was a generally a passive gameplay change for doing it or not, or if it only applied to certain situations.
-
I just exited the game after playing for about 15-20 minutes and Galaxy is downloading a 585MB update, so the patching is coming in fast and furious.

Thanks, I exited the game just to grab this. Ironically my underpowered 9750h + GTX1650 has not crashed once in my longest play session yet. Only problem is it's all low 720p, big change from how I was playing.
So the laptop found the 585MB patch, but on my desktop it would not, so I did another repair/verify (which I've done literally a dozen times after crashes already) and it is downloading a 58GB update, very odd.Last edited: Dec 11, 2020 -
I am not sure I agree with these sentiments.

The game is very in-depth. I started enjoying it more, after I played it more. 2 hours is still very very early on though.
The game looks stunning, and runs stunning!
Honestly I am considering starting a new game. Because I learned about the inventory system like 6 hours in to playing lol. And I am about 10 hours in so far. I really want to just start over. -
However the offline installer download is 104GB, now I find THAT strange too. What is in the extra 46GB? If I continue to have probs after the patch I will try the offline installer.

The physics of shooting doesn't appeal to me.
Furthermore, the car physics sux big time.
There seems to be a storyline somewhere in this monstrosity but am having the trees/bush randomly appearing in the horizon (updated to latest drivers)
Will play another hour or so uninstall it and get the refund.
Seems like it was rushed out before Xmas to get the $$.

I honestly don't think it's the game in these cases. I generally like shooters and gun play here feels fine. The gun models are cool and shooting is satisfying. Same with driving, to be honest I find myself more fascinated by the scenery and car interiors while driving around, so the physics don't bother me.
I haven't seen almost any of the graphic glitches/bugs that some are mentioning. It's possible because I've updated all my drivers recently... not sure on this one. Maybe upcoming patches will fix these. -
The only thing I see often are where you walk through someone, this usually occurs when I'm running rapidly in a crowd. While drivers can have their issues and cause in game anomalies I also have the latest drivers, I'd guess the majority of those here do as well but bugs have been widely called out right here on this thread. I think it's possible you don't notice many of the glitches, some people are simply not very sensitive to them. I'm among them BTW, while people have called out wide spread issues I just plain don't see many and I suspect that's more to do with me than the game. It is possible of course you've got the goldilocks hardware combo and settings to make it all work.
-
V’s shadow has no head lol. You can walkthrough Jackie inside of Elevators. If you go in reverse then forward rapidly in the car while driving with 3rd person camera V appears on the roof as an animation. while crouching with the C button you will stand up randomly and get spotted.
I have ignored all of these lol. And simply don’t really care that much. I love the game either way.
The developer was getting death threats from what I know, and they had to release it this time as promised. A major patch is already in place to fix all of these. But, they had to get the game out either way.. A lot of people paid early, and were so upset. I was patient my self. And I am just glad it’s finally here!krabman likes this. -

You have to get a ways in before the story really starts fleshing itself out. I'm totally digging it now that I've gotten a few "main" missions under my belt. A decent portion of the beginning of the game is just set up, the REAL Cyberpunk doesn't really start until after the "heist". Even the title placard comes in after that mission I think kind of letting you know the "prologue" is over.joluke likes this.

I think money was as much a factor as anything else in terms of it's release. Not beating them up for it, to be honest I like money too and I have a feeling if I was in charge and my pay involved I put the game out there in it's current state as I find it good enough to get the ball rolling. As to your specific gripes I don't know that I've even noticed V has a shadow much less that the shadow has a head. I do everything I can to stay out of cars and never drive in third person. I've yet to have an uncommanded standup from crouch while in stealth and I'm playing a stealth build. See where I'm going here? In one case I didn't notice, another I simply don't play the game in a way that puts me in that situation, and the last hasn't happened to me yet. Not everyone experiences every bug and for a lot of reasons.
To the thread in general... I'm 20 hours in now; been hitting it hard. A lot of the side quests have some meat to them, others are standard gopher stuff. Still by meat I don't only mean that there is some gameplay in them, they also serve to flesh out the story on various tangents. The depth and layers here are substantial; without precedent in my own experience. I can't say this game is the be all end all but it does raise the bar in some respects despite the bugs. I'm enjoying the crap out of it and already formulating what I'll do in my next play through. Anyhow gonna go watch a show with Mrs Krab, she has been most patient and it's time to put down my smart assault rifle and give her some attention. Maybe if I put a little wine in her while were watching the show, give her a proper, ahem, bed time story, I can sneak out later after she goes to sleep and do a few more quests... Bwa ha ha hahfm likes this. -
I’m with you man. I don’t care about these minor bugs. I’m gonna try the side quest as they sound pretty good now. I’ve been playing the main story too much. I’m really just glad the game is out.
They are probably gonna make a killing on this game lol. I know it’s been highly anticipated. In all honesty I was flat broke on the day of launch, and I scrounged up the $60 to go ahead and buy it out of pure necessity! So I can only imagine all the other people in the world who also bought it on launch day.
Luckily for video games there’s no stock supply to worry about like all these new video cards that have come out. -
