I am dying seeing this. I thought I was the only person who felt this way.

Well I figured out my crashes, all due to a silly small ram overclock(3200 to 3466), been playing all day back at stock XMP profile 3200 and not one crash. All crashes has been to desktop, except the last one was a BSOD so I decided to try something different.
Anyone else ever ride a motorcycle and hit a guard rail at speed in game? Hilarious and scary at the same time.Last edited: Dec 12, 2020 -

Not sure what toaster oven made that 2nd pic but on my machine, that scene, she looked exactly like the first one.hfm likes this. -

Previous gen console?
So did you figure out where to see your eddie count?
It's in the top right corner of game menu (the one which lets you select character/inventory/etc.)
So upgraded my cyberdeck (actually I upgraded a lot of my character's cyberware
). Yup, it's so much better now. Quickhacking is fun. I really like to mix and match gameplay styles. Sometimes I like stealthy approach. And sometimes I combine run and gun with quickhacks - running and gunning plus some overheat thrown in in-between. And then there are times when I choose stealthy approach.
This game is good. It's really good. I feel it. -
Yeah ram timmings and frequency are sensitive.
Usually a quick close to the desktop, with or without error is DDR4 related. -
I usually stealth my way along until I get caught then I switch to guns blazing. If they'd have just minded their own business they'd still be alive, but NO! Speaking of Judy I believe I may have kindled a romance with her, still too early to tell.
-
Hands off! I saw her first
))
-
Me too! I have done two of them so far, they are good. The first one I happened upon it was hilarious.
+1. I complained about it for the first two hours, but since then I've just been playing it and it's been a blast. There's only so much you can expect. What they've built is pretty amazing. It could be better.. but that's always true.
lol.. yeah... even my meager rig looks just like the first one. I feel bad for anyone that bought it on those first gen consoles, but I also don't really care.
I'm actually glad the driving is super forgiving, it would be a total pain in the ass if every slip up caused major issues. Half the time I just walk anyway to check out things.
One hilarious time I just climbed up on top of a few things and there was a gang member up there with a skull denoting probably punching above my weight. I popped him in the head anyway, that didn't go well. I tried to jump off to get away and they killed me in mid air.. was hilarious.cucubits likes this. -
Still not sure if I'm on the right path for romance but I'm starting to think I have Judy hooked. Sorta like the Big Bang theory, I'm wearing her down with my attentiveness.

Yes I’m doing side missions now. Still learning the game. I have about 22,000 eddies. I tried some missions and I was killed over and over. I have my game difficulty on hard. Then I moved on to the delamaine missions. Gonna try upgrading myself, or possibly weapons soon. -
Completed main storyline, and all I can say is wow! A game hasn't left me feeling this way in a long, long time. I feel like I just participated in a huge action movie trilogy or something. Maybe a mixture of The Matrix and Blade Runner.
By the end of my 26 hrs I did see quite a few bugs but none that hindered my enjoyment of the game. Now as I told my GF, the "real" game begins when I can enjoy the side stories and just lose myself in the game world. -
Yeah 26 hours isn’t much to explore a game like this.
I am gonna say about 100-120 hours -
Agreed, at least that many, can't wait to see what the game turns into now.
Open world games like Skyrim and FO4 you can even spend thousands of hours. I know there will be some said they played those 100 hrs and did every quest in game, but I only did a very small fraction of things to do in game and spend 1k hrs between those two. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
I switched on hard myself. Was playing on normal before, but since upgrading my Int skill and cyberdeck, I can one hit kill most of the enemies. It kinda feels good to be OP, and I don't need to use guns anymore, but I need a bit of a challenge. Will see how it goes.
I'm 28h in and I still in Act II, don't really do much main story as I'm one of those players who likes to go through side stuff first and upgrade his character. -
So I tried messing with some graphics settings a little. I turned my preset to "Ultra" and DLSS on "Auto" "Ray Tracing OFF"
I get 115-145FPS lol!!! This is literally hammering my 7980XE like never before. So, your mileage my vary! All 36 threads are pushed very hard, and GPU usage actually drops down to the low 90%'s at times.
Very smooth, and the graphics looks great. Its still on ultra, just no RT is on. -
I can hardly kill anyone. I usually get killed in 1 shot a lot of the times. my health is 165. I am a level 10. And I feel like I really suck. What should I do? I usually use cars to kill people because its the only way. I just blast them with like all the bullets in the world, and their health just barely drops, and I usually die due to a single gun shot. -
I've put points in sneaking perks and crit chance. I like using pistols and I like headshots.hfm likes this.

Like most of these games you want to have a build concept and work towards it.I'm handguns and stealth too, you can really deliver a wallop if you pick up a silencer that does double or even more damage from stealth but you lose a percentage when out of stealth. Add in the crit perks in reflexs and some of the other pistol damage stuff along with a few in stealth and you'll become a killing machine. You can perk similar concepts for melee, assault rifles, hacks etc. You'll also want your weaponry to support the thrust of your build and you need to use it because the skills themselves level up with use. Mount the best armor you find as you go along. Your chrome should work with both the weapons and the perks. Those are extremely expensive so don't nickle and dime yourself, wait till you've got enough ching to pick up an epic or legendary when your upgrading and only pick up the cheap must have stuff otherwise; an example would be the one that allows you to use smart weapons. The dirt cheap one that looks like a tat works until you save up enough money to get the good stuff. I'd also highly recommend the crime in progress mini-missions to get eddies and loot. Hover over any that are close and hit the ones that are moderate or high danger at most until you get more buff. Quick save right before you approach the fight so you can quickly reset if you blow it. These are fast and can quickly help you build up your resources.

Why not lower difficulty settings if you are having such a hard time killing enemy?
And if you like run and gun drop in some perk points into reflexes and body and suitable skills.
Get some cyberware for health and such as well, to suit your gameplay style. 22k is a good sum to start upgrading your char.
Now I'm leaning towards a netrunning assassin. I got this dope sniper rifle, basically AWP, i.e. when clearing gang activity I just climb up somewhere high (thanks double jump cyberware!), spread some overheat/contagion around enemy, and if there is still someone standing afterwards, well, say hell to my little friend!
Man, I'm having such a blast playing this game, despite a huge amount of glitches. -
I've pretty much ruined the potential of this character sorting out how stuff works and trying various things. Still it works just fine anyways and I'm on hard; I had been normal but I'd got to where I kill everyone in pretty much one headshot even when they're aware, not just in stealth. Agree on the blast thing, there are all kinds of ways to go about your business and I'm actually trying to sort out which kind of fun I want to partake in as I go along. Digging it.
-
The game is going a little better. It was just nearly impossible to kill anyone in side missions that were labeled as “Hard”
So I used cars to run them over lol.
I have a suppressed pistol with reflex sight. It is really cool!! I’m starting to learn the mechanics a little more, and the inventory, and what not. I upgraded to use smart weapons. Pretty cool so far. -
I'm doing the exact same thing. It's just hard to get any traction in the kabuki matches when you've been largely ignoring body.

I heard there is not respec option for attribute points at all? (only perks?) I didn't even use any until after level 10, I guess I can just do that to max level if they don't allow a full respec to try out things. I dont mind a huge penalty to respec, like you have to re-earn them or something, I just hate starting over to fiddle with them until I am happy with a build.
I haven't been having too much of a problem on normal with my play style. I can get 1 hit kills with headshots with mu sniper, but everything else takes time to knock them down. It's fun and makes me think about how I table a situation. I'm good with the difficulty, I hate it where I have to reload 10 times to get past a part and replay the same thing over and over.
Man every time I take a small break for an hour or so I end up wanting to get back into Night City. If they capture this feeling with the multiplayer game coming out later, I just may bite and try it out, -
Chose Corpo background.
Can't get anywhere because the game crashes at the exact same spot, as soon as I leave the bathroom and get within a foot of the elevator.

Can anyone here help me work out if I'm CPU bound here when playing the game? System is an RTX 2080, Ryzen 2700x and 16GB RAM. Trying to play at 1440p with the Digital Foundry optimised Ray Tracing settings. The image below is my readout for CPU/GPU usage although two of the numbers are wrong and showing the menu FPS instead - actual FPS was 40 and GPU utilization was 70%.
Trying to work out if having 70% utilization across all CPU cores and my GPU at a max 40FPS points to a bottleneck. Any ideas? Running a mild OC on the GPU also (+140, +600) which seems stable. Slightly concerned as I even tried turning all settings to "Low" in this exact sequence and saw no real FPS increase which points to something being wrong.

Found an elevator which goes to a roof section of the Afterlife. Anyone know if there is a reason for this? Is there anything hidden up there? Can another area be reached from there?

A lot of people have been complaining about low GPU usage, probably not much you can do.
-
I ran into something which is killing the crap outta me. Might have to go back down to normal... On the positive side I'm now certain that I'm on the romance track with Judy. It's been developing very slowly; maybe because I haven't went far enough down the main quest line?

It’s because your running DLSS is on performance or high performance.
I see your FPS at 68 in the photo. Increase the graphical demand. This will lower cpu usage, and increase GPU usage.
I’d certainly reinstall Windows if it’s clogged and old. I run a Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC for maximum performance.
Overclock your CPU to death “If possible”. You need some good DDR4 optimization. Ideally good Samsung Bdie. DDR4 3400-3600 CL14 For a 2700X.
At this point a GPU overclock isn’t helping you at all, due to your GPU not pushing 97-99% constantly. So your just heating it up and wasting power for no reason.
I have a 7980XE all (18) cores at 4.8Ghz and I run Samsung Bdie at 4000Mhz at only CL15-15-15-1T timings. And this game pushes my CPU like no other.
Fortunately I always maintain 99% GPU usage. With my 2.130Ghz 2080Ti
Really fast tight timing DDR4 helps cpu bottleneck substantially! Once you start going over about 70% cpu usage per thread/core you will see GPU usage start to fall.
Plain and simple you need more cpu man. My cpu and platform are over 3 years old. But the amount of threads and high frequency with fast low latency memory are all what allow it to cope with the game.Last edited: Dec 14, 2020 -
If it's unreasonably hard, there must be a gimmick. I'm playing on hard too and if it's what I think it is, you can do it
-
I’ve finally gotten better with guns and pistols. The game Is fun!! I love the combat. Headshots are exciting.I finished the Delamaine missions, and a couple others.

Looks like you can hex edit a patch in for better performance on lower core count Ryzen CPUs.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Me too. Even though I usually don't start spending points until I'm a few levels in, I've already spent points everywhere. Although maybe that's good, you can have a sort of universal soldier and be good not only as a stealthy netrunner, but also a assault wielding bad ass for the times when crap really hits the fan.
Now I'm tempted to spend some points into handguns, seeing how a lot of you seem to enjoy it.
I mainly go assault rifle/shotgun/sniper rifle, but this is more for a more aggressive approach, and often to to swap weapons. And now I kinda with there was a possibility to swap between weapon loadouts, as 3 slots are not enough.
Would be cool to have a separate load outs for guns blazin' scenario with assault rifle/shotgun/sniper rifle and stealthy approach with handgun/sniper rifle/knife.
Speaking of QoL things, do any of you often miss turn while driving fast? I wish minimap had a better scale, as I often miss turns because I had like 0,001 sec. to react once I saw I had to make a left turn on GPS while driving at 120 mph (I suppose it's mph and not glorious kmh)...
Nope. Maybe it will come into play later as part of the main story?
Stout is so much easier

That's horrible. What's wrong with people?
If you are disappointment by how the game came out and don't like it, you can always get a refund. Like with NMS.
No need to go insane over a game and be a horrible person.
So might as well delayed until February.
Don't get me wrong, I'm having a blast with this game, but I can't deny various glitches and problems with NPC. And I'm pretty lucky as I don't have any other problems with this game. Others - not so lucky.
Really hopefully CDPR addresses the issues and patches the game. As a fan of DE: HR and DE: MD, and Blade Runner, I really like this game and want it to good.hfm likes this. -
This is my 2080Ti overclocked running Cyberpunk on Ultra at 2560X1440P.
The card is pulling 500 watts on this XOC Bios at 1.125V.
Anyways, I just wanted people to have an idea what performance is like at Ultra with DLSS off, and RT off.
CPU is 4.8Ghz all (36) threads, even though MSI AB only shows (32) threads.

Same here. I'm having a lot of fun. Deus Ex vibes are strong and that's awesome, especially considering we won't see another of those games anytime soon. After hearing how short the main story is, I slowed down a bit and switched to side quests. So far it's going well, there is a lot of variety. I don't even mind the driving part, but I do wish we could zoom out the minimap. I miss turns every time. Or put better brakes on cars
I did run into a rather hilarious bug. There's a mission where you are directed to jump in a small room through a window. After breaking it, I didn't realize you can just press space + w and vault in, I was trying to crouch jump sort of. The game did not like that, as soon as I would hit crouch while jumping and pressing forward, It would "swoop" my character 200m backwards. Not teleport, more like very fast movement. Had to run up, do it again, swoop back, lol. Just pressing space to vault in, worked fine. -

I found a box on the map which if i try and climb on top of it everytime it will shoot me back 300m across the river. I'll see if i can grab a clip. -
I'm not even slightly worried: This games failure or success will determine CDPRs prospects for the foreseeable future They're going to be all in on making it right; no question.

It's a long slog to get to pay dirt, still not there myself; I haven't looked at any spoilers yet so I'm not sure if I'm gonna make it or not. I like to do the first play-through without reading any guides. I'm getting messages from her now, the chatty "hey I'm interested" kind so I'm pretty sure, just cant go 100% on it. For certain at least if you do it the way I did there are long periods between her hitting you up for personal quests.

Yup, exactly like the one I found in the desert... most likely there are more.

Huh, guess they stop doing refunds. Last time I hear they were still doing it...
Wonder how are things on PC and XBox from, are people available to get refunds.
Well someone has his priorities set in this game
