Judy and I have joined in a (possibly) monogamous relationship. Without giving away any spoilers I can only say the consummation of said relationship was well done; they managed to straddle that sexy yet tender line without crossing into creepiness. Were it a movie you watched with the significant other getting lucky would be in your near future. Whelp, need to get my street cred up, got 100k in eddies but cant buy a legendary piece of chrome that slows time until I hit 47. At some point I suppose I might have to pick up the main quest thread again, been busy... :D

Well I’m NOT asking for a refund! I LOVE Cyberpunk 2077!!

    I’d have paid double! Lol

I’m hooked! Doing side quest, I’m fighting for cash! I love the game! I finally understand it a little better now. I’ve upgraded my self some, bought a bunch of cool stuff!

This is the most beautiful game ever! It looks just stunning in Ultra RT with Quality DLSS, and with how good it runs on my 2+ year old GPU, you can’t ask for much more than that.

I have a Asus PG278QR 165Hz TN monitor. So even though it is calibrated to be as vivid as possible. These pictures do NOT DO JUSTICE.

I think she's an option too, did a few quests with her up to the point where I figured I need to start over to have a chance with Judy. No regrets :)

I agree, the game looks phenomenal, even the road textures just look amazing I just sit there and look around a lot at seemingly uninteresting things and just smile.

It's unfortunate that it's hard to define exactly where the line is with spoilers. I will venture to say that my experience with both Panam and Judy implies that there may be a gender bias going on that will allow or prevent a romance. I'm not sure but suspect it is so; I'll leave it to you folks as to whether you want to do your research before you invest the time or go in blind, stupid, and/or as I did the other night, drunk. :D

Edit... No refund for me, I'm enjoying myself bugs and all. I do feel sorry for the legacy console guys, I'm hopeful that mess gets sorted out. Be black eyes to hand out to more than just CDPR if it isn't.

It's unavoidable for these guides to show up. I'm also staying away from all of them but so far things have been pretty straight forward in the game. I do remember Judy telling me some clear hints which should've made me realize much sooner I was not on the right path :)

Anyone remember what side missions where you can bet $2,900 or $12,000 and fight the guy to take his sniper rifle?

I came across it earlier, but I was broke lol. Now I have gotten some funds together, and I want to go back to find him.

Water looks like crap though. CDPR is not good at water - TW3 didn't have the best water either.
I actually found quite a few bad textures/meshes. Sometimes they are distracting, but overall don't hinder my overall enjoyment of how good the style is and that it feels like I'm in a Blade Runner. Driving a motorcycle, seeing those megabuildings - man, it's so surreal!

I personally love the driving in this game! I wish the car bodies would deform and crush a little easier. But, the driving is decent enough to enjoy while zooming across the map!

To be honest I was really expecting player controlled flying vehicles. Wonder what was their reason to not go that route. Maybe performance if they had to model and develop the building tops and all the upper layers, or timing to make the release?

There is (almost) nothing impossible. Possibilities are just limited by time and budget.

On a side note, have you seen RDR2 clouds? That stuff is crazy! They even got top layers modeled. RDR2 has better clouds than some flight sims!
Shows that with enough time and moneyz you can do whatever you want.

That’s another game I didn’t put enough time in to. I played about 100 hours in RDR2. I loved it. But, I skipped almost every side mission lol. I didn’t find the side quest very interesting.

Unlike Cyberpunk 2077, I love the side missions. And I feel like I’m enjoying the time I invest in to the game. It’s nice to have a new AAA title to play again. I was sad after I wore out RDR2 lol. Maybe I’ll pick it back up when I wear out Cyberpunk.

Agree on the side missions. What's interesting here is how many relate back to the main quest line, it's quite a few. The feeling I get playing through the game is something akin to watching a TV series rather than a more typical movie arc. You have the thrust of the story but at the same time you're also exploring various tangents to the storyline kind of like a weekly episode in a TV show which is more about fleshing out the world than advancing the story. Not explaining that well, hard to put it into words.

Burn out is a dangerous thing in video games. At one moment you can’t get enough of the game and then BOOM! you don’t want to play it anymore, drop it and never finish it.

RDR2 is a masterpiece in my book. And it did come with some good side missions, at least I liked them a lot. And you did spend 100 hours there, it means it does something right. Although I also spent 60 or so hours in AC Valhalla, even though I don’t particularly like the game much, I guess it comes from buyer’s remorse...

Game already looks like crap on those consoles:

IMO, should have just made it a next gen title for consoles.
PS4/XBOne lack performance, and they already had to downgrade visuals in TW3, which came out when those consoles were new, so not sure why they made a decision to release on those consoles.

Obviously releasing only on next gen consoles brings another set of problems, meaning less users at launch, so you would again need to delay the game, which wasn't ideal. I guess this is why there is back compatibility offer, but yeah, people hoping to get some decent CP2077 time playing on current gen consoles while waiting to get a next gen console are in for a bad time :(

This game started development essentially when the Xbox One and PS4 were new, too. They've had the entire generation's lifecycle to get it right, and they can't even get it to maintain a steady 30 fps at 720p on the the base consoles. I also question why they couldn't set a resolution cap on the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro of 1080p so performance could be consistent on those platforms. I would have gladly accepted 1080p/30 on the One X, but according to the DF video, I can't get it because they set the resolution too high.

It's fairly damning that in an investor call only a few weeks ago top management labeled the legacy console performance as greatly improved and in saleable condition. I paraphrased there to sum up both the question and the answer. Clearly the legacy consoles were not up to snuff and regardless of whether they simply didn't know having ignored clear evidence coming from development teams, development teams had misled management, or they were being directly deceptive, upper management has some hard questions to answer. Deception was certainly part of it in any event: The deliberately did not disseminated legacy console code pre-release. Even current gen code was released only 24 hours before the games release while PC code was held tightly and disseminated to a much smaller number than would normally be the case for a major game release. All these things imply they knew they had problems at the top management levels.

There are some things that play into it though involving the game industry in general. One is the push to get a game out for the holiday where it will garner on average more sales than a game released at any other time. That one is self explanatory. Another is that review aggregators seldom allow changes or additions to reviews, the first reviews stand along with the overall scores generated by them. They also combine scores for PC and consoles. Here you will notice that CDPR development teams has a bonus contingent on actual sales and also were dependent on getting no less than a 90% rating with those same aggregators. The bonuses being tied to review performance and sales is nothing new and a standard industry practice. Lastly Google, Apple and others put less weight in search results on newer reviews because they come on average from sources with less traffic. In other words more weight is put on the bigger outlets and they in turn put out their reviews with the games release. All these things tend to lead to developers attempting to manipulate the system and little doubt can be had that it was the case here as the only reviews that would be ready at release were guaranteed to be PC reviews.

In the investor call today management claims that the blame is theirs, they did not listen to the development teams. That may or may not be true, no statement a corporation makes can be taken at face value, they tell the truth only when it aligns with their agenda. They also walked back talk of giving refunds for the game to legacy version buyers saying they hope they will be patient, should be patient, or try and get refunds from point of purchase. They did not say they would not do refunds, it still may happen but now they "are looking at it." rather than saying it will happen.

Gonna be quite the tale here when the truth finally comes out; for my purposes it sucks that corporate greed has in my estimation taken down the last (honest) man standing.

In CP2077 case releasing for Christmas holidays was a poor decision in my opinion. It works for game which has no major bugs, but CP2077 really needs patches to fix various things. We will get a patch within next 7 days which will fix some things and break other. Then there will be a basically a 2 week Christmas/New Year's holidays. After holidays at least another week or two needs to pass until the next patch can be released, so now I expect they will delay patches as well in their trademark "Delayed Yellow".

Apparently the industry beloved review tied bonuses were canceled and devs should get the bonuses regardless of the score. I hope this is true giving how this project was mismanaged by upper management.

    Yeah...

But now, back to CP2077. I'm still having such a blast! I'm steadily becoming a quickhacking death machine. LOVE IT!

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the crap out of myself. I'm just disappointed with the launch in regards to the fairly obvious BS they pulled in regards to the consoles. This morning I found legendary mantis blades in a chest of all places. I'm totally not built for melee and wondering if the stuff in my storage back at the apartment will still be there? I'm thinking not. I've got at least two more playthrough styles I'm going to try, perhaps not right away but over time. I started out a stealth/silenced weapons/tech build but the tech has proved less useful than I hoped and I've stopped going into it. Now I'm basically pistols/stealth and extremely effective despite quite a few wasted perk/skill points. I'm thinking I want to try a stealth/melee build, go into body on that one. Also a hacking build, haven't decided exactly how I want to support that yet. There is some synergy with stealth and maybe pistols for that one too?

I'm mostly trying to do everything I can in my first playthrough, as my backlog is huge and who knows when I might replay the game. Still want to replay TW3 and RDR2 lol

But if I do replay CP2077 I will most likely wait for patches before doing so.

Never attribute to malice that which can be attributed to piss poor planning.

I don't think it was greed, i think the management didn't want to delay again and didn't think the issues reported by the devs were as big as they were. The devs could of also overpromised saying they could optimise in the remaining month and of just underestimated it.

To be fair the company seems humble about the issues and squares the blame on themselves solely. Hopefully next time they will learn from this experience.

That said i'm having a blast with the game and really enjoying it but then again i'm also now playing on a console.

Anyone know if there are time missions? I have a couple of missions at the moments which seem time sensitive
one where Judy asks to come for a slice of pizza to discuss Cloud takeover and other is about Saul kidnap from Panam
Or these are good to go until I complete other matter, as I received call for both during another mission lol

EDIT: Doesn't matter in this case.

I think it's scripted that way. I also got the two quests exactly at the same time, both seemingly urgent making me choose.

I went for the pizza of course... at that time I was still hoping I have a chance with Judy :) To be honest I wouldn't be too surprised if there were any consequences down the line if you delay some of these quests...

The malice comes by way of hiding the console versions all the way up until the day the game released.

Even OpenCritic has put up an unprecedented notice:

    Quick question

How would Cyberpunk 2077 run on my 4800H/1660ti laptop?

I asked around and they said i need at least a RTX 2060 because of DLSS which kinda makes me nervous about future games

Im not going to buy the game yet because of the bugs so im just wondering what performance should i expect

Should be fine at 1080p 50-60 FPS using Digital Foundry's optimized settings:

I'm using a 1650 and get average of 45fps med/low settings 900p, 0.95 static resolution scale. It does go over 60 in the desert and empty places but goes down into the 25fps range with a lot of movement and action. 1660ti should be fine at 1080p. The bugs are way overblown I've not had any major bugs that were gamebreaking. I did get one rescue mission where the "wait" button for the contact never came up, just reloaded and didn't do that mission.

So I obtained the sniper rifle, but you’ve gotta be a level 22 to even use the darn thing lol.. what a shame. Got put more time in!!! I also picked up even more guns and armor that require level 22. They tease us early. Instead of just not showing high lvl weapons like Fallout or something, they are all available to be picked up, you just can’t use them yet.

Try the geforce experience in game filters guys. ALT+F3

use “Sharpening” especially with DLSS try about 25% you will lose about 2-3fps but, it makes the textures really really sharp. I was messing around with it. Makes the game looks like the graphics are cranked up higher lol.

You can make balanced DLSS look like quality

Or make quality DLSS look like “No DLSS”

    ^ Sorta!

Same sharpening filter is also available in Nvidia Control Panel, and might even run faster.

Yeah I have nvidia control panel sharpening as a global preset, helps a lot with taa and I really like it from the witcher 3 days. One thing that I believe helps enjoyment of games is to just turn off any sort of fps or onscreen performance stats at least after dialing in your settings to your optimum. Instead of focusing on fps drops and other things you just enjoy the game. I do notice pop ins a bit more as I progress and explore but honestly it still looks great even at my low settings and resolution. RDR2 looks/runs better and is a better optimized game overall though, more my style as well.

    Thanks for posting this.
Made me go through my settings and tweak around. As the game is now, my sweet-spot is with DLSS on auto and sadly RTX has to be off. With RTX on, it does look nice but with my 2080 and i7, I do feel it's not so smooth anymore. I don't know actual FPS numbers, I don't like having that on screen.

Also when testing with ray tracing on, I got 3 crashes in 2 hours, while with RTX off, I've been running it without any issues at all for almost 20 hours. So yeah, if it crashes a lot, try RTX off.

Otherwise, I wish early Happy Holidays to everyone. After staying home from March, we're going to take some time off for a short trip. Probably will spend some more time stalking Judy today :)

Btw, just discovered that while holding right click, you can scroll and get more zoom. It's amazing how realistic they made the character models look. Also, looks like Judy may have a hidden tattoo on her left b00b, can't wait to see it, lol.

Is your 2080 overclocked? This may be the cause of crashing with RT on. And not with RT off.

I know I run my 2080Ti at 2,160Mhz locked in literally any game out there. Well in Cyberpunk, I simply can’t run anymore than 2,115Mhz stable no matter how much voltage and power I give my 2080Ti. I could send 1.125V with an available power draw of up to a theoretical 2,800 watts “if it needs it” And it would still crash at 2,130 while running only 36-38C lol.

2,115Mhz will and does run forever though.

check your overclocks. Running ray tracing in a game like this puts a much heavier load on the GPU, and it’s using all of the RT and tensor cores at a level that most games simply don’t use.
