I do have a profile tweaked for the GPU. I wanted to shave off as much as possible of the temperatures under load. Avoiding the fans going too loud is more important to me even than game performance:

If it freezes in game momentarily and crashes to the desktop stating that Cyberpunk has flatlined while running Raytracing in game, then your OC is unstable.
Try giving it more voltage. And going down 15-30Mhz
Ray tracing is more demanding on the GPU, and just like a CPU it would need more voltage or may even need to run at a less frequency for AVX or AVX 512 instructions.Last edited: Dec 17, 2020cucubits likes this. -

Welp, I did something stupid - I restarted my playtrough. Level 28 and had 50 hours in. Didn't like a few choices I mad so here I go again
-
I'm going to finish out. At this point I'm trying to sort out what I want to do next and trying some of it in the current playthrough. I was thinking of going shotguns and carnage. It's that or net runner. I've done the stealth thing now and it's almost too effective. Even though I wasted some perks, still have more to put in being level 29, and am playing on hard, I think most would consider the game play over powered.
-
I am a level 13 lol.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
But isn't it the point of most RPGs - start weak and then level up to such extent that enemy drops dead when you look at its general direction? -
@cucubits
Hey, also running an undervolt always reduces performance.
There is a science to how you must set a undervolt or it’ll perform worse.
Here’s an example,
If I run +125 on my 2080Ti it’ll apply whatever voltage and run around 2,115Mhz. My graphics score would also be around 17,300 in timespy.
If I ran a specific voltage point and it applied say, 1.081V at that set frequency of 2,115 my graphics score would fall to 16,700 or even 16,800.
Even though it runs the exact same frequency or speeds through both tests it performs worse with a set voltage/ or set frequency.
To avoid this. You set an offset in my case of +100Mhz, then bring the specific voltage point up in the curve editor to +30Mhz.
So to run it right, set a positive offset first to get you within 15-30Mhz of where you need the card to boost. Then open the curve editor and set it an additional 15-30Mhz at the desired voltage point you want.
^Then it’ll run at the frequency and voltage, but performance will be identical to running just a offset.cucubits likes this. -
Yeah, usually though you need to get up toward the cap before you can with impunity crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of de women.
-
Is it just my low crowd settings or is the city eerily empty in a lot of places? A city that size would be much more busy all the time. I'm not talking about the outlying countryside areas. Does the game scale the npc's/cars separately from your setting, based on your system? I'm also hopeful that the car handling mod will help, seems like the gta4 model but worse and I liked the gta4 more realistic model but totally understand why they went back to videogame handling model in 5.

Maybe, but I think it also seems like CDPR threw Sony under the bus when the former first announced that people could get refunds.
-
Yeah that had to have a bit to do with it. I'm enjoying it, but I do feel bad for those that are having a bad experience they have a right to want a refund.
-
What a disaster.
Fortunately PC is awesome, so community patches have fixed all of my issues. I just met Dex and haven't had a single crash in hours.
These graphics, damn. This is the first game in forever that has justified sacrificing 100 + fps. It's just jaw dropping with Ray Tracing enabled.
I'm also happy with how the RTX 2080 is managing. Turing's demise has been greatly overstated. I can hold 60fps easily with most everything on High w/ RT enabled, thanks to being at 1080p.
I really need to snag a cheap 9900K though. The 9700K's lack of HT is really starting to become an issue in open-world games. I'm wondering if this will do until 2023. -
On PC I'm enjoying it so much that I am expecting GOTY but the way people are crucifying it on console it will never happen. Feel sorry for console players but this is a clear example of why I play on PC for AAA games.hfm, killkenny1 and cucubits like this.

Yep. Ultra settings with ultra ray tracing on my 2080 Super and i get a solid 60 fps with DLSS on auto.
Even sticking it at Psycho i get 50-55fps at 1080p. Turing is plenty fast enough.hfm likes this. -
Yeah, DLSS 2.0 is FOR REAL. It's literally the only way any turing card is handling this game. I'm extremely impressed with that aspect of this game, and I assume it will only get better from here with optimizations down the road. I'll probably already be done with the base game by then though, I'll most likely revisit all the patching and optimizations when the first DLC comes out.
MY 4c/8t 15W CPU shows it's weaknesses in places like chinatown, I get a little audio stuttering and significant FPS drops here and there in very edge case situations. I am by no means complaining at all since by and large it's a great experience and looks phenomenal even on my non-typical setup. I've read all the optimization guides and tweaked everything about as far as I can. The funny thing is you'd think something like crowd density would be a big win for a CPU like mine, but it literally made zero perceptible difference (I didn't benchmark it, just going by how the experience is I don't need to know the framerate just how it feels to play it) between low and high, so I just keep it on high, the immersion is much nicer with a lot of people walking around.
I'm actually quite impressed to be honest, I expected far worse. It's pretty much 95% of the time smoothly playable and an astounding graphical and art direction achievement.Last edited: Dec 19, 2020 -

Too bad they didn't add walk function. As funny as it may sound, but for me it's the biggest missing feautre, apart from proper AI and NPC behavior.krabman likes this. -
The fact that accidentally double tapping breaks you out of sneaking is a little frustrating, especially if you are going with sneak as a main component of your build. The could at least disable dodge while sneaking it's too easy to accidentally do that when trying to edge a direction.killkenny1 likes this.

That too! So many times that had screwed me over.
There's a mod on Nexus already for this and walking, but somehow I didn't manage to get it working...

I put a 5MB/s cap on it because my wife is streaming something, I guess it's not exactly accurate limiting in Galaxy.

What did you do, my download now dropped to 0,3 MBPS.
I was hoping to experience new bugs before I went to sleep, but it looks like it won't make it tonight
EDIT: Oh, it's done. Yay!!! -
lol... Actually I wanted to stream the Bills game to my PC while I was downloading so I went in to turn it back down a tad and I set to 10MB/s and the download immediately went to 10MB/s ... then I set it to 5MB/s and it matched that..
I dunno what was going on but it's proplerly at 3MB/s now.. shrug.. -

Question about endings for anyone who has finished them...
So I've finished with all the endings, at least the ones I was interested in. Seems that none of them allow you to continue on with your save? If that's the case it basically means any leveling up, crafting, or legendary items I got in the last few missions were for nothing. Also, won't I be stuck with Johnny in my head for the rest of my time with the game? Also stuck with the occasional wigging out too I suppose? -
This sounds fantastic....

How many people will actually run into that bug? Things are starting to get way overblown with beat up Cyberpunk crowd so it's getting hard to sort the meaningless retorhic out of the real gripes.

Save game size limit is pretty dumb on this day and age, even dumber that its an hard cap that creates corruption..
-
I've put 40 hrs in and my saves are around 3.4 MB now. My nephew put in 70 hrs and his are at 5.3 MB.
I can understand they may need to upper limit in size for whatever reason, but wouldn't you make it like 10x what the average user would end up at rather than double?Last edited: Dec 20, 2020 -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Last time I checked, mine was 4,4 megs for 20 hour save. Starting save was 1,3 megs. I don't craft a lot, actually just crafted a couple of cyberdeck mods, but I do disassemble and upgrade a lot.
This game, it's like Fallout New Vegas. The contents are great. But it's a buggy mess...
Did a mission in the slums. Had both double jump and mantis blade mods installed. Jumping from one rooftop to another and them dropping from above to ice the mofo is surreal. And once noticed up and away. Sayonara, mofo!
I like it! I like it a lot.
Also did the tarot card mission. Drove to places where I wasn't before and really like the city CDPR built. Loved industrial areas or seeing city landscape from the outskirts, really beautiful. One area I also liked was near El Coyote Cojo. Took a pedestrian route through the city instead of the roads. It was midnight and I went through a canal or something, there were a lot of benches around with scattered trash bags and people of various trade, from bums to partied out corpos. This really reminds me a few IRL areas I've been to at the same time of the day, really bring life to the city. Amazing! I really need to start using photomode.
Just wish the NPC AI was better...
Also wanted to say this. There are plenty of poor AAA PC ports, one of the most recent being, ironically, Sony's Horizon Zero Dawn. Now it did run ok for me, actually I think on par with CP2077, but when you consider visuals and world density of each of the game, one is clearly a more badly optimized game. Haven't launched HZD in a while, maybe they remedied the issue.
But unfortunately CP2077 apart performance has other issues...KING19 likes this. -
If you do a lot of crafting and looting (I do a lot of the latter for eddies) it can probably happen pretty easily. There's an ENTIRE perk tree pretty much just for crafting, it ends up screwing over all those people if they are not aware. Imagine putting 70hrs into the game then hitting this unfixable brick wall.
My save is only at 4MB right now but at least I know about it so I can curb some of the crafting I was about to do and looting I've been doing, which kind of sucks.krabman, Porter and killkenny1 like this. -

Some Issues -
1. Dialogue so long and irrelevant
2. Ridiculous end of level baddues
3. White eyes
4. Bugs
5. Story too long
6. Driving poor experience
7. Asia storyline
8. Impossible to complete without crafting
9. Inventory overload
10. Keanu Reeves ruins the game story
11. Overheating of guns? A new way to die?
12. The amount of people required to make a game ... Yikes end credits shows maybe 500 maybe more ...
Aside from the above, this feels like a Bethesda rip-off and it shows.
The open world is lifeless and the storyline is rinse and repeat over and over to the point of exhaustion. Did I mention endless dialogue?
I am sure there will be those who will be entertained by this and it will occupy their Xmas break, but this game has offered nothing new to an industry known to regurgitate the same over and over.
And yes keanu can go back to Hollywood we don't need you in the game industry plllleeeasssse!

How does anyone know this can easily happen? My question was whether or not this is something the majority of gamers will ever run into at all. IMO it's not a bug if the only way to get there is through an extraordinary effort that could not have been anticipated. Even if it's a bug that only effects a very tiny group of people I'd be willing to say it's gone into bug territory but not to throw down with the OMG MAJOR BUG BS like some are calling out from the loftiest perch. To my mind to earn the OMG crap the game is getting plastered with over this it needs to be something which effects a lot of people and yet not one person on here is effected by it. No one I know in the real world has been effected by it either. Nor do I see any credible evidence, even anecdotal, that it will effect a large group of people or even a relatively small group of people. I craft a lot but I don't hoard for the sake of hoarding. I don't keep every armor I ever found, etc. Most people don't, they the keep the best performers and a few favorites for the look. They use their crafting materials when needed and in this game there is plenty enough crating to be done that they are never going to build up in large numbers in the near term if your crafting at all. If you aren't you can just rid yourself of them. I know right I'm 40 hours in having finished play through one and I was always waiting on materials in order to do crafts and upgrading with some I wanted to do waiting on those materials. We're also talking about a hosed save on a single play-through when you reach that 8 megs. How many hours will the average person put into the game on a single play-through, 20, 40, 60, 100? If it's practically impossible to create this bug before 100 hours on the same toon and yet almost no one plays to that distance with the same toon is it really a HUGE bug?
Leaving any attempt at quantifying factual numbers out of it lets say it can happen often and to an average player; what then? Well, in my mind it sucks, the OMG talk is earned and I fully support it. If not, if you need to put many, many hours into one play-thorugh, more than most will while simultaneously hoarding massive piles of stuff to get there? Well, in that case you have one corrupt save; the game saves relatively often even if you're making the rookie mistake of not saving it yourself so you go back, what, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, to a previous save? From there you can ditch some of your hoard and move on. I don't see the game being ruined because you got rid of mats you wouldn't have if you were actually crafting or some of the 200 jackets you're not wearing and never will. That does not clear my bar to go into OMG BS that some are tossing around.
It would be nice to frame this in a meaningful way instead of throwing one liner clickbait at it. -
Maybe 1 or 2 points from your 12 list make sense... just sayin'Lopt likes this.

I was going to say the same thing but hey it's just an opinion. Most of the list are positives for me, but this game wasn't meant for everyone. Just like some won't appreciate the stories around Blade Runner and The Matrix, which find this game shares a lot with both.killkenny1 likes this.

Been since Fallout 4 that a game has evoked such contradictory view. I am thinking maybe give this six months to a year then check it out finally. Comparing this to say GTA V, how does it stack up?
