I had such a good experience during launch day. The games runs so good in full fidelity too. But I was ready for the game with a system though. I was fully expecting it to hammer my PC much worse than it has.
But I do feel for the people who purchased it, and couldn’t play at all.

The game may be crap on PS4, but that's a pretty scummy move...Porter likes this. -
I think it's a fair call. Test the entire game and then decide if it's worth refund or not.

After CDPR lied to the public and its investors, they don't deserve it. If anything, because they cultivated such a good reputation in the community, CDPR should be held to a higher standard than other publishers, which as I've said, would have been burned in effigy were they to have released this game in the state that CP 2077 was.
And before people bring up Crysis, as horribly unoptimized as that game was, it was at least stable and playable. Plus, even on low-end hardware it still looked decent. Based on the post directly above mine, that doesn't appear to be the case here.JRE84 likes this. -

Disagree with you on this one. Play 10 hours or so, but to complete an entire game and refund it, I wouldn't say it's a fair call.
CDPR lied about PS4 performance and state of the game, they issued a refund to people who requested it.

Those same people are excoriating CDPR for their dishonesty as the reasoning for demanding the refund. That is just. On the other hand it is either ok to lie or not, you have to pick one. It isn't fair to demand honestly while being dishonest yourself. You would not bugger your neighbor's children because he was convicted of child molestation and this is no different, it's only a matter of scale.Docsteel and killkenny1 like this.

Its funny to me because for what the game is, its according to critics its in bad shape when you consider the time involved that they had. It just seems to be the way all games are now, everything is released half-done. I cannot think of a game I have bought in a very long time that was mostly "done"; they all now have a 1-12 month "correction" period. Empire of Sin by no less than John Romero and his wife came half-baked and also promised far more than it delivered recently and its a far, far less ambitious project than CP2077. Its sad because now you just come to expect garbo on release these days, that's how bad the industry has become.

So your saying it's only the consoles getting the shaft and the pc game is more than worth it? -
I figured it was going to go the way of steam when they made it so GOG opened at all, it used to be you could start the game without it even if you purchased it and downloaded it from there. That's as far as it went though, at least so far they haven't continued down the path of foisting more garbage on is like steam did.JRE84 likes this.

It depends. If you like Blade Runner and Deus Ex Human Revolution / Mankind Divided type of gameplay it's worth it, even despite some of the QoL things and NPC AI missing. If not, but are interested in the game, I suggest waiting till they fix the game.Last edited: Dec 23, 2020 -

Yeah just installed the game a few days ago and while its unfortunate the game is crap on consoles, it looks really good on PC if you have the specs to play it. Too bad they didn't have a lot of time to work on the game or rather were pushed to cater everyone. Remember this is CD Projekt, same team that did Witcher series and even Witcher 3 looks even better as years go by vs. when it first came out and not many rigs were able to max it out.
Patch after patch the game is getting better and despite having it on PC it still has its bugs that needs to be ironed out and this is the first genre the team is doing outside of Witcher. I agree people are overreacting about the game.. even wanting refunds and "keep" the game?? what lol, it does suck that they're pushed to release a game when its not ready kinda like square devs talking about FFXV, I played it and enjoyed it but i could see it was like an 80% complete game and it wouldve been so much better if they had more time and leaves you a feeling of the potential of the game had it come out at a later time.
Anyways I'm off to play more cybo!

I disagree here along with others. There's a TON of people that created this game. Engineers, artists, voice cast, musicians, foley artists, etc..etc.. You can see a lot of love, blood, sweat and tears went into creating this world. I can see people getting refunds after 10 hrs or so and giving up.. but to COMPLETE the game? That's just opportunistic entitlement.
To add insult to injury, we have these entitled people wanting to KEEP THE GAME after being refunded. Boggles the mind..

Oh i misread what you were saying then.
Yeah the general bugs are there but most issues are performance related on console and crashing but i've not had any crashing at all on pc and obviously performance is only limited by your card. If you don't enable ray tracing it's not actually massively demanding.JRE84 likes this. -
I haven't had a single crash since I stopped editing the hexes for the touchpad fix, and installed the community performance overhaul instead. And that crash was literally 5 minutes into the intro, so I'm all the way up to Act II and haven't had a crash. Hell outside of my gun being invisible on rare occasions (fixed by switching guns then back), I haven't even run into any bugs.
It's crazy how varied experiences are, just among PC players. For me it's been a completely smooth, enjoyable and immersive play.
I also wouldn't play this without a high-end PC though. Priorities and all, but a game that looks this good just wouldn't be the same for me on low settings and at 30fps. It's a graphical benchmark.
Every time I think these are played out, someone freaking nails the context and timing when a new situation arrives.
Bravo.JRE84 likes this. -
I have not had a crash. I was not forced, even once, to reload a save. Unless of course I died, I've done plenty of that. It runs smoothly on my crappy old 1080 DT, I can run it at my monitors native 2k if I wish where it manages to sit at around 30 fps, it does not see major dips there but I prefer a higher rate so I've stepped down to 1080 and that delivered. Either way with most options on ultra or high and of course I have no ray tracing to worry about. Thats a 1080, aka crappy, old, pathetic. I find it difficult to place much weight on someones opinion when they claim the game cannot run on ordinary PC hardware, I know it can, I see it every day. As to the console people when I hear that gamers are playing through to the end and returning it what I get out of that is that their game breaking bugs were not so game breaking after all; if they had been they would not have made it to the end because by definition game breaking is in fact game breaking and reaching the end would not be among the possibilities.
While I fully believe the console version is in fact bad enough that refunds should be on offer I also believe that even there the "problems" are exaggerated. On the PC they are massively exaggerated, I've seen buggier games including back in the day, not just in recent years. But it's ad views that matter and the clickbait with this game is getting them so our good friends the content creators are delivering. I'm glad I'm old an pathetic and get my opinions from actually doing something rather than reposts from someone who didn't on Facebook.JRE84 likes this. -
i'm not into opinion but alot of people claim bugs....so you guys are saying its corona virused..
aka a hyperbole and wrong? i hope so cuz im buying it bugs or not on the first -
No, it's got bugs; plenty of them. I'd say more than Witcher 3 but to be honest I'm not sure I remember that correctly with the number of years that have gone by since it came out. I think if you like this type of game, have a PC that is not crap, some graphical glitches and other oddities don't throw you out of a game, you'll be ok. Don't get me wrong; I'm in no way disputing the game has bugs, it does. I do think they are currently being very much overblown on PC, to a lesser extent console. In the latter's case the bugs do appear bad enough to seriously detract from enjoyment without any princess and the pea action going on but they are still being blown out of proportion. Look at it this way; there are a number of us right here playing the game and having no trouble enjoying it. I'm now 80 hours in, that didn't happen because I hate myself and thought I needed punishment.

Just tested one change today, I set a modest OC in my GPU to +100 and the game started acting up, t-pose’s and cars appearing stuck in half way in and out of the road, and a CTD.
Removed the OC and it’s back to no problems.
At least that’s what happens on THIS system, ymmv.

I had tons of crashing the first 20 hours but it was all due to my memory overclock. Another 30 hrs and not a single crash. I've seen a few graphic glitches but the game has been so awesome I would rate it at 9/10 so far even with them. It's an open world RPG and those are notoriously hard to program for.Lopt likes this.

CPU plays just as much role in this game as the GPU does.
I can run Ultra preset “No RT on” and then run DLSS on balanced and then I maintain 110-135FPS at 2560X1440P.
^ But this same same setup cant run like this with the average CPU’s, people’s GPU usage starts falling off the higher the DLSS is turned up, or the lower their graphics settings are. So their frame rate isn’t going up hardly at all no matter how much you lower the graphics.
The graphics still look amazing like this too!
It loads up all (36) of my threads like crazy. -
My relatively weak i5-10300h is a bottleneck in this game it's utilized more than my 2060 but it still looks amazing, I don't have any raytracing on but do have dlss performance if that makes any difference. I have not noticed much difference in game with the updates, there are still some graphical bugs but nothing major.
-
If you are running Performance DLSS with RT off, I would highly recommend turning up graphics detail wherever possible. Like “High Quality” Nvidia Control panel settings, turn on any other settings too in their. Especially if your just losing GPU usage due to your CPU not being enough.

In my 90 hours spent in game so far I had a single crash, and that I wouldn't blame on the game as at that time I had a draw distance boos installed, which caused other problems as well. I removed it ever since and it's been a straight sailing.
In comparison, at one time I had 3 crashes in one hour of AC Valhalla.
Yup, really enjoying the Easter eggs sprinkled around the game!
Time to craft the crap out of the components I have stockpiled

Maybe even some innovation into the mix sooner rather than later. It’s hard to know the release date for The Witcher 4 and that’s because the current project is not coming until 2020 in May. And that means a few more years of development for The Witcher 4. As a result, we can expect the game to come around 2024-2025 at the earliest.TR2N likes this. -

Ah you're right, I take that back. More on the they should've spent more time testing the game. You can kind of tell that after patches game runs a bit better every time.
If you think about it they were also still working on Witcher 3 when it released on May 2015, and it wasn't bug free either, took them maybe a year to get it all nice which to this day runs great and looks nice on current gen setups then also the push for having other console support and upgraded versions for newer consoles.
Nonetheless it runs pretty good on my rig but thats on a current gen setup. It'll only get better with patches I guess and maybe if they have a complete/goty edition later on.
So far I've only seen a few graphic glitches, the crashes I've had were only for testing my undervolt/clocks on my 3080.Last edited: Dec 24, 2020 -
My first few days in with Cyberpunk 2077 I had numerous crashes. I couldn’t figure it out to save my life, I knew it was most likely my GPU or the game. These crashes would occur randomly sometimes at the menu, and sometimes 2 hours in to playing. It took me a little while to figure out what it was, and find 100% stability in the game.
Then I realized my 2080Ti that is 100% stable in anything while running 2,145Mhz-2,160Mhz, isn’t stable in Cyberpunk at these speeds at all. And I guess it’s due to being a very heavily Ray Traced title, so this affects GPU stability differently than most games. I have been running my 2080Ti at 2,115Mhz and it has fixed the issue entirely. And yes my 2080Ti cruises through 6+ hours of gaming at 2,115Mhz without lowering clocks.
Even with my 2080Ti running 35-36C I still can’t run 2,130Mhz!
2,115Mhz is fine though. It doesn’t matter how much voltage or power I give my 2080Ti, even running an XOC kingpin bios. 2,130 just isn’t stable in this game.
Anyways, all of this was self induced and not related to the game at all. I have 45 hours in to the title so far.
I can finally 1 shot sneak kill with a pistol on most I bad guys it is very fun! -
