Got my first crash, not flatline, had to device manager kill it. This is right after the 106 update, weird. I reloaded and played for hours after that though no problem. It is a pretty deep game but you have to just spend time in it doing side stuff to get minor characters quests and continuation quests like delamin, kerry etc to come up. A couple of the cyberpsycho missions seem to be bugged, I couldn't finish, just kept saying explore area for more information even after the psycho was neutralized and I spent a lot of time searching the whole highlighted area, nooks and crannys, above and below, searching bodies etc

Pesky kids and grandchildren have gone home to celebrate the remainder of their Xmas in their own homes. Mrs Krab has temporarily left the building and I've got about an hour... So where was I, oh yes, I was looking for the legendary armor mod that gives 230ish armor. I saw it in a shop way back when I couldn't possibly afford it but now that I can I haven't just tripped over it as I was selling items and scoping merchandise in the shops. I'm pretty sure it was the fancy shop in the center of town, I'm going to go there and reroll the shop until I hit paydirt. Gotta roll, clocks ticking. o_O

Got a really awesome quick hack mod today - suicide. Also have maxed out skills which let your quickhacks spread nearby people.
Gotta tell you, suicide and contagion are two hell of quickhack mods. Gonks drop dead like flies.

Anyway, passed the 100 hours mark today. My current save has 45 hours on it, level 31 and maxed out street cred (50) but I still can't find the damn cat food!!!

Do you guys just leave the performance metrics on the screen at all times while playing games? That seems annoying (or was it just for the screenshot)?

I remember CDPR making a whole video about Roach for April Fools. They also advertised those stickers. I wonder if they are available for purchase...

And wait did you buy the game again, I thought you refunded it?

CD Projekt Red Faces Multiple Cyberpunk 2077 Lawsuits Over Misleading Claims hothardware.com

CD Projekt Red (CDPR) is in hot water. The company has been working for the past 8 years on Cyberpunk 2077, only to release the game loaded with bugs, performance issues across all platforms, and graphics that were woefully inadequate on previous generation consoles. Besides drawing the ire of the game at release, CDPR is also contending with flak from its investors (not to mention, an influx of refunds).

Well have done two of the five endings, neither was that great imo. I'm 57hrs into it with most of the side missions done and a lot of the gigs, other than going back and getting the other endings I'm done. It was not too amazing at first but it grows on you as you do more. Truly a great tech demo that requires a decent rig. Can't wait for the dlc.

I'm on my third character, didn't finish the toons that preceded it. Still working towards the (my) perfect build and I gotta have crafting to get it. That brings me to a bit of a gripe; without crafting you can't get a number of legends. On the other hand giving up a third of your skills to get crafting to 18 so you can craft legends directly takes from skills that could have been used to create more varied characters. You don't then get a game altering weapon or armor which changes the game as 18 directed skill points would. You should though, for that kind of investment you should open up a new play style, get skills otherwise unavailable, something.

    Did you do its quest?

Well, CDPR management brought this all to themselves.
Still, best of luck to them. Played all their major releases and one spinoff, and up to this point their games were getting bigger and better.
Hope they will overcome this challenge and survive. Would be a shame to see them go down or sold off..
Not a lot of companies are left out there which can still make a good open world AAA game with main focus on story, characters and details...
Rockstar was another one of them, but with departure of Dan Houser and Take Two raking all that online money I fear for the worst.
Hope Microsoft will give something Obsidian to work with...

Oh right, perks, but not attribute points.
To be honest, just roll with it, or you will never finish the game :D
I also restarted the game once, and just now reaching the progress of my previous built, but already want to start a third character to play out some things differently :D
And that's already 120 hours in. People have already finished the game, and I'm still 2/3 in Act II :D.

Cyberpunk 2077 One-Click Tool Promises Up To 30 FPS Uplift tomshardware.com | today

Of course, your mileage will ultimately vary, depending on your system's specifications and the resolution that you play Cyberpunk 2077. The best solution to improve your gaming performance is to upgrade your graphics card and jump up to a faster CPU. However, if your budget simply doesn't allow an upgrade right now, the EZ Optimizer for Cyberpunk 2077 seems like a godsend gift to low-end gaming systems, provided it works as claimed

Yep. I've got 100 in and still have a couple build ideas I haven't tested. I'm going all in on crafting with this one which is straight a straight up run and gun build, seemed the best way to reduce the need for spreading skills around. This reminds me of a QOL I'd like to see, it would be nice if you could name saves so you could easily go back to specific points in the game, switch builds, etc. Other QOL I'd like to see off the top of my head is being able to lock items in the inventory, a sell all unequipped and not locked option, being able to have NO waypoint set, adding a pushpin with custom note on the map, manual zoom on the minimap while driving.

Decided to try out RT again, and oh boy, was I wrong about it! Used just medium, but oh man, the way the city looks and its atmosphere really changes to a better side, especially at night. Whole new level!

Too bad it's such a FPS hog. Once enabled, FPS dropped noticeably, had to switch ultra settings to high (and didn't see any difference :D ), and enable DLSS, which I'm not a big fan off, but it's an acceptable trade-off for RT.

Character selection a la Mass Effect in load menu would definitely be a great addition.
I also had a few QoL ideas, but they seem to vanish once I quit the game (except for a mini map scale thingy). Should probably write them down :D

I've started putting notes in keep on my phone to remember where to go back to later or even in future playthroughs. I still haven't watched videos and so on but I'll probably start after this go round. So far I've discovered a money exploit on my own, also how to construct overpowered armor.

Why don't you like DLSS, it's to the point where it performs better and looks better than native. Might not do much for 1080p, but 1080p is already a low resolution to start with these days. Not using DLSS and owning an RTX card is like contributing to your 401K and telling your company you'd like to decline the match that they automatically give you.

    Cyberpunk 2077: 9900KS | RTX 3090 | 21:9 - 4K (3840x1600)

Here's a quick comparison of the FPS on the 3080 vs 3090. The screenshots below are from the 3090.

    Ultra Preset w/ DLSS: AUTO - 3080 (60 FPS) vs 3090 (80 FPS) ~ Delta 25%

    Ultra Preset w/ DLSS: QUALITY - 3080 (56 FPS) vs 3090 (70 FPS) ~ Delta 20%

    Ultra Preset w/ DLSS: OFF - 3080 (35 FPS) vs 3090 (46 FPS) ~ Delta 31.4%

I picked this specific location on purpose as it is pretty consistent overall with a lot of details on the screen.

Note the resolution that I'm gaming at. This is 21:9 - 4K, which is not very common. Your scaling may vary.

    Ray Tracing Ultra: Preset

    Only changes:

    Film Grain: OFF
    RT: Reflections ONLY
    RT Lighting: ULTRA
DLSS: OFF and AUTO and QUALITY

    80 FPS w/ DLSS: AUTO
    [IMG]

    70 FPS
    w/ DLSS: QUALITY
    [IMG]

    46 FPS w/ DLSS: OFF
    [IMG]

    BONUS:
    42 FPS - Psycho w/ DLSS: OFF

Since I like to max everything out within reason (ie... film grain = no bueno for me, hence why it's turned OFF) and play at the resolution that I am on the wide screen monitor, when it comes to achieving a 60 FPS+ gaming experience at 4K, the 3090 is the ideal choice for me over the 3080.

However, just to be clear I'm fully aware how terrible the value is for the 3090 as a gaming GPU lol, especially for 1080p and 1440p gaming. The 3080 is more than adequate for most people.

I've only had one issue with DLSS and that was when i was doing a scene underwater it had a lot of fringing since the scene was so dark and there was a bright light source.

Not sure how it can look better if it upscales lower resolution image to a higher resolution.
Without DLSS everything looks sharp and clear, with DLSS (even on quality preset) picture looks blurry and as if it was slightly out of focus. Feels like playing in 900p on a 1200p display, which makes my head hurt a bit.
As far as I understand CP2077 uses DLSS 2.0, which is better, but still it's a bit fuzzy. Not a big fan of this.

    What do you mean?
I checked myself how game looks with DLSS on and off and that was my conclusion. DLSS is still too fuzzy to my liking. It’s probably better on screen with higher pixel density, but on my 24” 1200p screen fuzziness is noticeable.

oh i saw a DF video showing dlss 2.0 at 800 percent zoom and they say even better things about it than i do....ill post the video to show you....everyones different with iq sensitivity but from what i saw in that video it looks sharper and has more contrast but loses a tiny bit of detail....DF is not always right and i trust your opinion more than theirs so i retract my statement.

k awesome i found it by fluke

its showing 540-1080p vs 1080p - 4k which would look even better

i hope its the right video if not ill search again

and this video clearly shows 4k dlss 2.0 vs native looking better....no comparison dlss 2.0 looks cleaner than native 4k hfm is right and retract my retract lol :p

There's plenty of analysis out there where DLSS 2.0 has been proven to exhibit more texture detail than native and perform better in certain, mostly recent, implementations. Obviously not every implementation is equal, especially DLSS implementations previous to 2.0, but as far as I've seen from trusted analysis it's a win-win. Seems the mileage varies at lower resolutions. Seems maybe not very useful at 1080p (I would basically call your panel 1080p class, its 16:10), but 1080p is already low. 1440p and above seem to get the most benefit with 4K being the obvious huge winner. As well you could also change the settings to create a situation where you are tanking quality by using a super low starting resolution (aka Ultra Performance mode DLSS). But even if it's just a wash where you can't really tell the difference or only a minor quality degradation, the ability to get free substantial performance gains with minimal adverse effects at worst or BETTER fidelity at best is fantastic. I don't think CP2077 would be playable for me without it honestly. I'd have to run it at a non-native resolution for my panel which is a sure-fire way to completely torpedo IQ with crappy interpolation. DLSS is WAY better than that.

I can see where you are coming from here. DLSS isn't as advantageous at that resolution, and 24" is a sizable panel for that low res, you're already starting at a place where the pixels are rather large. It's the reason I almost wanted to get an XPS 17 and then decided against it. 1200p even at 17" would not be enough DPI for me as I've been using HiDPI since the Blade 14 I had back in 2014, and 4K (2400p) would just be too high res for adequate gaming. I like where LG is at 1600p, It's just a CPU sacrifice. I'm not going back now.

    Well put.
On 1920x1200 panel IQ indeed is very noticeable, and as I've said it looks like things are slightly out of focus, which gives me a bit of a headache during prolonged play sessions, so that's why I never use DLSS.

Still planning to switch to 34" 3440x1440 at some point, but unfortunately pixel density is not that much higher than on my current panel, except I know I will have to use DLSS for sure, as 2070 Super will have hard time running double the amount of pixels.

It's just down to personal preference really. If all I did was gaming and I didn't care about pixel density for things outside of gaming or where it matters to me for like small UI element sharpness I probably would just get a 1080/1200p laptop. It's really for non-gaming reasons I left 1080 behind. I still have not found my perfect laptop, it's kind of annoying. Most gaming notebooks are just too heavy and loud. The ones that have socketed CPUs or MXM cards are largely not even upgradable anymore which completely kills the reason to buy those heavy tanks. Honestly I might have kept the Tornado F5 I had as it was on the edge of manageable at 6.5lb but the hoops you have to jump through to upgrade them to 8th Gen or higher or replace the MXM card were like why bother. Besides the cooling solution was still somewhat loud under heavy load. I was like why am I doing this to myself, so now I had the Gram and an eGPU.. together they are pretty much silent and the performance in gaming is 95% of the time great. I could really give a RATS BEHIND about benchmarks, they're boring, I know some extremists live and die if the laptop isn't trying to sink 350W, it's not what I care about.

I think my perfect laptop would be the LG Gram with a 35W 6-core or 8-core CPU with decent and quiet cooling solution, TB4, and NO DGPU. The 2600p XPS 17 gets close, but their units that don't have a DGPU are garbage and have a completely different cooling solution, battery, HD config... it's like I'd have to waste money on a 2060 to get a decent one. The 10300H in the low spec model isn't enough of a step up from the U class CPUs in the Gram line. It's like the prefect laptop for me just doesn't exist, the Gram 17 gets closest but then I have to sacrifice on the CPU side if I'm not willing to cut it apart to mod the cooling solution so it can run at 20+ watts for long term.

Lol.. back on topic I guess...
At 1600p DLSS in CP2077 is a pure win. At least for me anyway.

Productivity is also my reason why I'm planning to switch to a different monitor, albeit not a higher res one, but a wider form factor.

I don't remember that happening when I did that quest.

All went good for me as well, but as you can see some people were’t so lucky.
Or maybe were, because that’s one hilarious bug, really made me lol :D

No lie that, it would have been better if it did happen along with that dialogue. I've got my crafting up to 18; now I just have to figure out where I saw the legendary revolver recipe I'm wanting to craft. That happened before I started writing down item locations. Pretty close to breaking down and looking it up online but I feel like I have to finish the game before I start looking stuff up. Seems like once I open that door I can't shut it.

It seems like the good thing is you can craft the iconic ones without finding it. I have a specific iconic revolver from a quest and it appears I'll be able to craft it once I can craft legendaries.

There is an exploit in the game where you can quickly level up the perks in crafting; one of a couple I've found although they're all related to the money making gambit I first found that led to them.

I just now found the blueprints for my revolver. Turns out I don't have enough materials to craft it and that was my cue to call it a night. o_O I thought I was there...

I really like that small car you can get in the game, it's easy to drive and is silly. I also like that the graphics are good enough here to not be totally out of place throwing a real person in the scene.. lol.. classic bean!

I've built up enough eddies to buy a car, the Shion Coyote. It was in the badlands, 115k.

Sure took you a while to earn the scratch :D
Or did you spent all the dough on crafting materials to craft legendaries?

I bought the Cthulhu and a couple other cheap cars. I really like the little dinky one!

But I stopped buying cars when I realized that two of the best ones are free. I randomly found a Rayfield Caliburn just driving around (don't want to spoil finding it for anyone so not going to say where it is) and of course one of the other fun cars is free as well. There's definitely some good cars available for free, I'm just going to treat collecting them all as probably the last thing I end up doing. I pretty much stopped selling things and I'm breaking everything down to slowly boost crafting. I'm getting enough eddies just doing random jobs, gigs and NCPD alerts.

I believe you get Caliburn after completing final Panam's mission.
Myself I spend most of the time on the motorcycle you have a chance of getting in the beginning of Act II.
I did buy a few cars and motorcycles, as I had half mil to burn (that's even with my excessive spending on cybergear, most of which I found for free later on and now have doubles).
But yeah, most of the better vehicles you get for free. And a nice touch for Nomads you get a chance to reunite with your old jalopy.
