Cyberpunk 2077 will use Nvidia's RTX features. If you want to experience it at max visual quality - you probably should get more powerful GPU in new laptop, at least 2060 or so. 1070 can show those features but it will probably be very slow. Especially when going outside and seeing a lot of people on the streets like the video of demo gameplay has shown.

Good to know, I haven't caught up with RTX yet. My personal performance goal with Cyberpunk is High-Ultra settings, 45FPS. I don't mind switching some things off like Hairworks when I played Witcher 3, but I would like to get a sense of full crowds in the city.

Another video attempting to assemble and make sense of tidbits of information that have been dribbling out over time. Interesting to fans but probably lacks meat for those with a more casual interest.

I am really hoping Nvidia has Ampere ready by the time CP2077 drops. With this being a showcase for ray tracing we need more power.

I want to be playing day one with an RTX 3080.

Cyberpunk 2077 is being optimized for current hardware, I'm sure it will run fine at max settings on current RTX cards ;-)
I remember playing Witcher 3 when it came out, it played well on 980 card with all settings maxed.

I don't really care too much about the graphics, I'm sure they'll be fine. I really care more about if it's actually a good game end to end and the art direction is good.

Not sure what your standards are, but the 980 dropped below 30 FPS in TW3 maxed out (incl. HairWorks). That was the fastest mainstream GPU at the time since the Titan X was $1000. Thankfully the 980 Ti came out not long after. But still, a $650 GPU (with the same level of performance as the $1000 GPU) not getting 60 FPS minimum at 1080p was not exactly confidence inspiring.

I do not remember which FPS I had - Witcher 3 didn't even have benchmark. All I remember is I had EVGA 980 SC card (according to Newegg I got it on 3/23/15) and when I ran the Witcher 3 - game played fine with no noticeable slow-downs. Of course, there were many bugs which caused issues with some gameplay or game crashes but this is normal for any game ;-)

I played Witcher 3 on much lesser hardware than that (870M) and had a blast, maxing it out to have a good time probably not required. At the very least turn off hairworks that was a performance killer with not much benefit.

That's debatable as HairWorks is one of the more impactful visual settings. Without it, the wolves for example look like they have no fur, and the large hairy monsters are also far less dynamic. I'm using a mod to disable HW on Geralt only (since his hair actually looks better without it) while keeping it on everything else. That, along with lowering HW MSAA to 4x, HW Preset to Low (reduces tessellation factor), and Shadow Quality to High, lets me maintain 60 FPS minimum at 1080p, even when fighting a pack of 10+ wolves, on an overclocked GTX 1080.

I don't remember what settings I used for the Witcher now but do recall I was able to get good performance with decent visuals at 1440P with my 1080. I suppose both "decent" and "good performance" are in the eyes of the beholder but I'm not worried about this game. I'm very confident I can get it to run at 1080 smoothly with satisfactory frame rate unless something is hosed in the game itself. Who knows, I found that the Witcher 3 looked better at 1440 with a few more things turned down than it did at 1080 with a few more things turned up. I suspect some of that is the native 2k display.

I honestly don't understand people concerned about spoiler - so you will see just an hour of gameplay footage, in a game which will last for tens of hours, what's the concern?!?

Can't speak for HFM but for me I have had games and movies major plot points spoiled by reading forums. Sometimes even in threads not even about the game/movie. Kinda ruins part of it the fun for me when I know XXX will die, or choose the blue bill etc. So I do try to avoid it but sometimes it still happens. Maybe I just want to know about game mechanics or how it runs, but not know something that is supposed to be part of a story or a surprise.

Sometimes an hour of gameplay can show literally the most important beats of a story. Or an entire side quest's story. Or a big subplot in the story. Some people don't want anything major spoiled, and others don't want even minor parts of the story spoiled. To each their own.

I just like to know as little story and character stuff as possible. It's not a huge deal though, it's good to see something to raise the excitement, but for this one based on a table top game I like and a development house I like I don't need to see anything really.

Doesn't really matter why someone doesn't want to know anything, whether a legit spoiler or not, that one is in the eye of the beholder. Myself, I cant wait for this game and I'll take an inadvertent spoiler or two to get a little bit of a peek at the goods.

Holy hell, the amount of people complaining lately about the absence of TPP is ridiculous.
I mean, yeah, it can be a legitimate concern, if it wasn't for complains mostly made by this kind of people:

The amount of people wanting to play this game to watch animated polygons pretend to get it on is likewise ridiculous. Really, most of the nit-picky whining in general is just ridiculous, especially this early on. The story and gameplay are amazing-looking enough, even if it isn't literally the perfect game. But people always need to find something to complain about.

But I get it. I like platforming games, and I haven't seen a single Mario-themed level in this game. So disappointing. /s

    Exactly!
You would think that story/lore/characters/world/gameplay are the main selling points of the game, but no, apparently it's TPP...
CDPR should just scrap all those things and just release an empty open world with nothing interesting to do, but with TPP. Because this is what makes the game great.

Third person view can greatly enhance the visual impact of the scenes, same way it does in movies. If you do not care about it - does not mean that many other people also won't care or that developers should only listen to one group instead of providing an option for both ;-)

Third person can be nice unless it's pushed upon you - and that is exactly what we see in most games. All these cutcenes where view suddenly switches to third person completely disregarding what camera setting you used before are very annoying. Also - at least for me - third person view COMPLETELY destroys immersion in the game.

IMO, it's an artistic decision that the developers get to make, like the art style or level design--which players also don't have options to change. People who don't like a developer's artistic choices don't have to play ;)

Artistic decision excuse only works for movies. In games you can allow for both choices, this is what the games are all about - letting players choose whatever they prefer. Unless this is a technical limitation, in which case they would have said that. I mean, they are already letting your character to be any gender or race, why not simply add some extra choice of having different character view?
Anyway, there will most likely be a mod for enabling this after the game will be released.

It's a lot more work for CDPR to create the proper animations and camera angles. It's basically like directing a movie because you have to place the cameras, move them with the action, switch cameras at the right time. It IS a lot of extra work to support both. In development, art, production, debugging, etc...

A sign of old age my friend. :) However that may be right now they are in crunch in a big way. I would be dead if I had to pronounce some of those names but one of their chief honcho's was stating such a few days ago and in a way I've heard developers use when a game is going to push. A lot of nuance gets lost in translation so it could be I was reading something into it that wasn't there. *shrugs* If they are on time we are 134 days away. At a guess... lol

Perhaps adding in Keanu Reeves material extended the expected schedule, as they needed time to access Keanu Reeves before he started filming Matrix 4?

Matrix 4 filming is rumored to start in February 2020 in San Francisco. Matrix 4 is scheduled to come out May 21, 2021.

Or they just decided to Polish the games some more. Hehehe...

Either way, I have no problem with the delay. A bit disappointed that I won't be able to play it in three months (oh man, it looked so close!), but oh well, I rather get a finished game than a half baked turd. Luckily I have plenty of other games to play in the mean time.
