Its meh, alot of broken promises. Unlike the first one, there's not much replayability in the 2nd. 1 run through for me was enough.

I just purchased the 4 pack.

 

the games today are not that good, I might give Cities XL a try though. It looks fun, although the reviews on it are horrible.

Love GRiD, an excellent gem of a game

Only here it sells for the same price as when it first came out, and I didn't know if Steam was supported here, but this was the best chance to try it out

Anyone tried Mini Ninjas? Looks like a pretty cute game and somewhat suitable for kids as well.

I have a feeling borderlands is going to make an appearance during this deal. Now that I have LFD 2, I'm don't think there is anything else I want. Unless MW2 goes on sale for 25% off or more.

 

Borderlands is 20 on amazon (may have ended). No reason to wait for steam if the deal is still up.

OMG, Borderlands, Trine, and Resident Evil 5 are having great sales! Have no idea what to get, but im most likely leaning towards borderlands. Man I hate no having money...

For those who have played both L4D and L4D2, do you think it would be better to just get L4D2 and skip L4D? Or will L4D be enough to satisfy my zombie killing hunger (and save me $30 in the process)?

I haven't tried L4D2 yet, it's sitting in its pretty little Steam file. However, if you look at the stats, it would seem that a large number L4D players have migrated to L4D2, there's still a decent sized community, but that may be a factor for you as well. In all honesty, I would go for L4D, and only pick up L4D2 on discount, which I did @ $20.

When I bought the Orange Box, I already had Half-Life 2. After installing the Orange Box, I had "one extra copy" that I could gift to somebody. I assume it's the same way if you buy one of those game packs, but I'm not 100% sure.

If you have neither, then get L4D2. It's basically a better version of L4D. L4D2 was on sale yesterday, so I'm not sure when it will be on sale again though.

Ah! I am having the same problems...L4d or L4D2...Geez...More feedback!!! Should I spend the extra $22.50 and get L4D2? Or, is the original just that amazing? HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!! Amazon still has the sequel for $20.00!

They will have ANOTHER sale for Left 4 Dead 2 BOOK IT.

 

There is really no point in getting L4D1 if you're going to get L4D2. I would say buy L4D2 on Amazon now (only $30) instead of the original L4D. It's unlikely L4D2 will be cheaper than $30 any time soon and the original L4D really isn't worth buying, especially if you've never played it.

 

Is L4D2 really that much better? Most of the impressions I've heard is that it's a larger, somewhat improved L4D.

 

It's a more refined/polished version of L4D. The point is, if you're going to get one of them, you might as well get L4D2 because it's basically the same thing as L4D, just better. Also, since L4D is so multiplayer based, it'd be better off to get L4D2 because there are more people playing that now than L4D.

I really feel like Left 4 Dead 1 was still worth the purchase (15 dollars) to play through the campaigns a couple of times. 15 dollars is how much it costs to see a movie, so to me it was still totally worth it to buy LFD1 when 2 was out. But if you can only buy one, I'd go for LFD2.

Fair enough. For $7.50 (what it is for the next 8 hours or so) it's well worth it.. if L4D2 is priced the full $50. But when L4D2 is $30 ( @Amazon), then L4D isn't really worth it anymore. The gameplay is very similar, but better in L4D2. The only thing you're "getting" if you buy L4D is different campaigns (which are definitely fun, but I'm not sure it's worth it). To each his/her own.
