nope. everything i say pertains to inferno mode only. normal-hell are irrelevant.
P.S. - if u want to kite for real then u have to be a archer/rogue class. in D3, they're called Demon Hunters.

Glass Cannon lol (dunno where I'd be without Spirit Walk/Vessel), Soul harvest takes me up to a nice 55k DPS. All that matters in Inferno. Man that helm cost me 3.2million... back to farming Act 2 for a weapon and mojo upgrade. -
Was in a group on my wizard earlier starting at arachnae spider lair and to butcherer. We got to right before the spider queen and got attacked by a few spiders as someone went into the boss fight. It was 2 DH's, a Barbarian and me in the group. Only me and a DH went in the fight. After the DH died, I was like....I'm feeling confident, so I'm going to kill this spider.
So, I kept up a venom hydra in the center of the room, and with my life regen, I ran around the room using frost nova and diamond form to kite her. She also had an attack where she stopped and spilled gunk on the ground, which helped with kiting. She had two waves of small spiders and two waves of big spiders. I just hit frost nova and diamond form, then disintegrated them until I could kite again.
My arms were shaking so much, and it took about 10-15 minutes to tear away at her HP. This was a spider with the HP and damage of a 4 person group that I was solo'ing. My group was surprised that I was doing it, and was asking the DH that died how I was doing. I killed her, and she dropped 2 yellows and a few blues. All of it sucked.
Still, it was fun, and just shows how well wizards can do. -
Are you playing wiz? If you can do that then I would gladly want to learn from you. Maybe you can post a video of you not getting hit in inferno. -
Beat Belial on solo mode and started act 3 yesterday. A 1000 dps 2h weapon dropped off the first mob I killed and I sold it in like 5 minutes for 50k ^^. Fought about 6 elite packs so far(3 on solo, which I killed all) and only 1 pack wasn't taken out because some guy joined the game while a wiz and I had a yellow to like 10% and became too tough for us to finish before the enrage timer went off :/ I figured the afk joiners would stop once I got past act 2, but I guess not. Otherwise, I finished up through the first 2 quests before I went to bed. Act 3 is ok so far.

kept those 3 simply because Amulets/rings almost always sell, no matter how bad they are lol. -
Didn't know I was able to solo the butcher in inferno act 1. Time to farm him. The real trick is getting 5 valor buffs before I get to him. Only set I have an issue with are the blue abominations. They hit freakin hard.
-
Got my Wizard to 55 last night.
23k health, 8k dps. Half my gear is level 40-45 :|
Did Butcher and the next boss easy on Hell. Venom Hydra + Blizzard kite ftw. -
I've been farming Act 3 Inferno before the Siege beast, there's 2 dungeons with epic chests, and getting 5 stacks of valor buffs isn't hard (been in groups of 2-4 mostly, but we skip the insane elites that have a combination of teleport, mortar, reflect, block, wall, etc lol, plus Tyrael can be abused somewhat). I'm also farming Whimsyshire in Inferno, there's a nice bug/glitch where elites get stuck, it's where the 'cat' is on the minimap. Just lead them there and take them all out... then head to the Piñata. I always switch to Magic Find gear just before opening chests/killing last elite of the group. Helps a bit.

Good read for wiz about faster vs slower weapon which normally translate to a 1h vs 2h. You guys might be interested.

Aaaaand this is why I've almost completely lost interest in D3. I don't want to have to read all this to understand how to play my character properly. D1 wasn't like that, D2 wasn't like that. WoW IMO, is the worst thing to happen to Blizzard because every game from here on out will have obscene similarities with it.

Patch preview for 1.03: Patch 1.0.3 Design Preview - Diablo III
Good thing too, cause act 2 inferno really sucks for me. It's like night and day between act 1 and act 2. -
-
Unfortunately IAS is being nerfed in this newest patch.
People spent millions on IAS gear for it to be nerfed a bit later.
I'm waiting for them to nerf the health from hydra glitch. -

this 1.03 patch just echoes everything i've been feeling towards D3. it took like 10+ years to develop this game, and b.net, and yet it feels so incomplete. all of these TINY fixes should've been taken care of during the beta stages.
Guild Wars 2 can't come fast enough, for me. -
I actually like all the theorycrafting, too after playing WoW for several years.
I like all of those changes except the repair costs. 4-6x higher? I guess that's counter balanced by them removing the group difficulty scaling. This'll be interesting....and expensive. They removed jewelcrafting and blacksmithing as the major gold sinks and replaced it with repairs.
Lots of games completely miss fixes that should've occurred during beta. Does it sound like I'm defending D3? Sure. I've played dozens upon dozens of computer games over the last 15 years, and release is never perfect or rarely good. Patches to bring a game to a significantly respectable point and give decent impressions is commonplace. Beta usually suffices for getting the game functional, but fundamental core issues in games are not truly highlighted until the game is opened to the public and the masses are allowed to do whatever they want and mess around with whatever they want. -
honestly, i was going to skip Diablo 3 entirely because i already knew it would fail to hold my attention for any longer than a few weeks or months. i only got it because quite a few of my close friends were going to play it. -

Guild Wars 2 Beta (Not anything D3 related)
Anybody that pre-purchased got automatic beta weekened event access and gets an early start for final release.
So far pretty much all opinions/thoughts on GW2 have been positive even in its current beta state, its going to have a TON more content than D3 but its much more MMO than Loot Grind so its not a direct comparison in genre. Torchlight 2 is going to be the big D3 competitor and honestly it may shape up to be just as good or better as well(for 1/3 the price)

I know there's a lot of you guys who are disappointed with the outcome of D3 and didn't quite satisfy your expectations. We read about your reviews and endless complains ITT and it's fine because we kind of get an idea of what may be really wrong. Although impression of the game is subjective. BUT there are still some people who enjoy playing the game and I hope we can respect that by not going here complaining about D3 and talk about the OTHER games that you guys think will be better.
This is a D3 thread, positive and negative comments are welcome but let's stick with the topic. Its kinda unethical spoiling some people's fun.
Like what I said before ITT, if you are not happy anyway with the game, you can still get a refund, Bliz gave 30 days, just not sure whether from release or from the time you bought the game. I think it doesn't matter since most of us here got the game from release date, so you still have a week. -
Are there confirmations of users actually getting money back from that 30 day return policy?
-
-
I read it from other forums where there's a lot of casual D3 players.
Some of them called blizzard that's why they learnt about the refund.
Better start contacting them if you intend to return the game.

Managed to solo Iskatu and Rakanoth on inferno with my unbuffed 51k DPS and 3.03 attacks a second, using it before they nerf the attack speed. There's a separate build for each boss, I do love Witch Doctor.

Patch 1.0.3 going live today.
It looks awesome to me. Repair costs aren't currently a huge problem for me so that doesn't matter and group play will be fun again with the damage buff gone from monsters. Act 1 will be a more viable farm spot with the increased drop rates and the change in neph valor buff. Plus now Acts 2-4 are easier thanks to them nerfing those particular acts.
Right now my Wiz has:
30K hp
Anywhere from 16-27K dps depending on weapon and spec (I mostly run 1H + Shield so 20K dps)
300ish resist for everything
7500 armor (which is probably going to be more than enough now) -

Patch 1.02c is going live today, not 1.03.
-
I thought they were trying to release RMAH in correlation with 1.0.3? Oh well.
1.0.2c doesn't look like it will do anything at all. -
I was hoping its today also but they said 1.0.3 will be later this month...
-
1.0.3 is gonna make Inferno too easy... and the whole HP buff in group is stupid as well -_- n00bs rejoice. The only reason I come back to this game is because Inferno is a challenge, apart from Act 1 of course. Been farming gold, got 10mil now which is like, almost nothing. Bet they are gonna nerf the decent gold spots.
-
1.0.3 will have opposing effects to different types of players.
- Hardcore/fulltime players might be disappointed for making the game easier on Act 2 and 3 especially the gold sellers. Changing the drop rates and being able to farm alone on higher acts can cause prices of items to go down.
- These changes can benefit casual players who dont have all the time to play and farm doing butcher runs all day.
I hope this patch will help item prices to settle down a bit because at the current rate, its really insane.
As for me, I am currently on the later series of quests on Act 2 playing alone even if elite packs are still so hard for my current gear. Because playing in group is just making it really impossible as the scaling of difficulty is not proportional with the groups' current gears. In short, I can survive better alone than in group. -
electrosoft Perpetualist Matrixist
All other changes I like, especially drop rates for items across all Acts which should help item prices tank a bit because eventually resellers will have insane inventories on their hands of items that just aren't moving, and with better drops, gear dependent classes who won't fork over real money can progress easier while also injecting more gold/items into the AH.
But Blizz does what it does lol. -
-
Inferno is easy but I can die over and over and over and over again.
This RMAH is concerning me greatly. I don't want to play a game centered around paying money for good gear. If It gets out of hand, then the only thing I can see myself doing is farming to make money but even then that's....weird.
I was just having a conversation with someone over the merits of playing 50 hours farming vs. working 50 hours to buy gold. Not everyone wants the stress of working those hours. You can play anytime. The gold also has to come from somewhere. It doesn't poof out of nowhere. The insane amounts of gold are coming from businesses selling gold and botting.
For me, working full time, I'd rather not spend my extra money on weapons in a game that might get replaced in a few hours. If I had $200 spending cash, I'd be spending it on toys or computer parts. I just dropped $300 on Japanese toys because I wanted them and they are a higher priority than a 1k dps weapon in Diablo 3. At the end of the day, I can keep farming and that money is still spent on something else more important.
I've been incredibly tolerant of Diablo 3, and I've been farming like a Chinese person the last week or two. I've made several million gold at least and I have been anxiously awaiting 1.0.3. However, if this RMAH has a drastic effect on Diablo 3 and makes it more dependent on that than Diablo 2, then I just will uninstall the game. In Diablo 2, people bought only the highest of the highest end of items on the AH, like the Burizas, Vampire Gazes, Oculus, Windforce, Stone of Jordans, etc. I just was too stupid to sell my stuff on Ebay.
That's not fun for me. However, I'm hoping for elements of psychology and economics combined with Blizzard's intervention to keep the game from going in a downward spiral. -
Think about it, the always-online DRM requirement, the RMAH, low level cap so people are encouraged to farm items rather than grind for exp ASAP, highly simplified item affixes / stats for each auction house sorting, etc.
The sheer idea of RMAH got a huge amount of outrage ever since Blizzard announced they were going to implement it, but they still carried through with it; any game dev that care about their fanbases and not just about profits would not even touch the RMAH idea with a 10-foot pole. -
lol prices on RMAH are outright ridiculous. I'll just wait until prices settle down.

found a crappy 6-- DPS legendary bow this morning and sold it for $4.99.
i <3 RMAH.
my buddy has made like $65 already lol.
i'm against the whole real money BS because it let's all the kiddos just buy the easy road...but...i'm fore adding money into my pockets for doing nothing. -
It's just maddeningly hard and a bit boring/frustrating to constantly die and wait thirty seconds, only to be killed instantly upon spawn.
Could the followers not be a little more helpful in distracting the mobs? -

Geeze, some of the prices on there... people are reporting selling $250 items with regularity...
I didn't get D3 at release (DRM, RMAH, and thank the reviews, especially when comparing it to D2) but I almost regret not playing the game for the chance to get that much money and fund my game purchases for 1-2 years... -
meh, cant get my paypal to work cause bliz require people to have a contract phone............
-
I despise the RMAH with every fiber of my being and I despise Blizzard for designing so many elements of Diablo III specifically around facilitating the use of the RMAH.
That being said I still am playing the game and I will never ever ever ever purchase a single thing from the RMHA.
BUT I will be selling any items I find and do not want on the RMAH to all the suckers out there willing to buy them. I will primarily be doing this in order to raise funds for the D3 expansion pack that will inevitably come out in hopes that I can get it for "free".
