Wish I was still a kid with free time. Would have played countless hours farming.
Reminds me of runescape where I made real money lol

nothing beat selling Ultima Online content. houses and mansions for $500-$750+ on ebay. accounts going for $800-$1000+.
i miss that game. it was when things were done right, and done well. -

I bought an item from it yesterday for $5, I got a very nice amulet, I cant remember the exact attributes but its about 150+ int, 15% IAS and life on hit. Its a jackpot for me.
$5 is about 1M gold now in the market, if I have 1M or even 2M golds, I wont even use it due to the difficulty of getting golds.
I'm sure I might find something else in rmah that will make me buy it but I know for certain, I am aware if its too expensive already and its not anymore justifiable to spend $ in it.
I dont think buying items from rmah is worse than buying beers in the bar or a pack of cigarette daily.
To the poster I quoted, you hate rmah but you will sell items in it so who do you think looks more like a sucker?
I am not flaming. There's just a lot of people who come in here complaining but keeps on playing. That's fine, but dont call other players names like what you just did. Act your age unless you're a kid. -
why would anyone NOT use the RMAH to sell things? i don't support RMAH one bit because i think it ruins the community and kind of defeats the whole purpose of Diablo. that doesn't mean i'm stupid enough NOT to use it to put money into my pockets...u'd be a "sucker" not to do that. -

there are lots of ways to make money, and farming diablo 3 is not a time efficient method, unless your time is nearly worthless. -

To address jinda & masterfhef341:
Jinda I dont have double standards at all. As houstoned has already pointed out since the RMAH is there whether we like it or not you would be a "sucker" not to sell the items you dont want because if it sells your making "free" money.
masterfhef341 I have no intentions of "farming" to make money for this game. I will play it normally as if no auction house existed. When I do find quality items that my char cannot use or I do not want then they will go onto RMAH. So I wont be playing the game 1 second with the RMAH in mind. I play the game as entertainment and for enjoyment, not for money. -
yeah, the RMAH has only been out for a couple days. It will probably take weeks if not months to stabilize. Until then, make easy $$$.
-
If you dont like it fine, but being very vocal and at the same time using it for your own interest doesnt make any sense. Talk about "integrity". You dont like this system alright but if you still cant stop selling for money then just stop talking about it. Just enjoy your earnings.
Why would you (I know its not you) call people sucker because they use and buy from rmah if you sell and benefit from it? Its not the buyers who sounds like sucker to me that way.
Again for my age, I think I am old enough to be your father lol. If I spend hundreds of $$$ in this game its because I can afford it and I am enjoying it. If I dont enjoy it, I'll quit and look for other things to enjoy than express my disappointment online. Its as simple as that.
-
This thread has been about conflicting impression of the game and clearly there are two sides to it. We are all players, outside of that I hope we are all professionals and good people. I just didnt like the way when you address other players taking advantage of rmah by buying as suckers because clearly we are all taking advantage of it. Buyers want to get good gears to at least play the game with less frustration. Sellers sell items for money. We can actually all be suckers by definition and we've been arguing about it.
I like this site, its entirely different from other forums that I know as people here seems to be formal and professional. So I reacted when people started calling other people names.
I guess lets just enjoy the game.
I didn't know that you read my posts.
Kidding aside, I dont want to comment about that. If that's what you think of me then fine. We all have different opinions.
Since you asked me, I'll answer you. I am 37 years old. I've been a casual gamer since I was in highschool. I have a good paying job so I can spend a little of that earnings for some enjoyment. Whether it be on my mountain biking or gaming.
I also go out every weekend and drink. That's how I enjoy life. So buying from rmah is not a big deal for me, if you have something to spend then spend it, just be sure you have something left to buy yourself some food -
now that u have stated that english isn't your first language, i can finally begin to understand why there is a difference in our mentalities.
to address your point: it doesn't matter if a person is fore or against the RMAH system because it's there. it's going to be there whether u like it or not so why not take advantage of it. it's not like RMAH is it's own separate app or entity. u don't have to download any additional programs to participate in the AH system. it's just another one of Blizzard's crappy implementations to try to milk every penny out of one of their products. nothing new here.
if Blizzard actually wanted to help our "market" out, all they had to do was make it to where there will be a fee for posting up items for sale. that way, there will be less jacked up prices for items. people would actually think before posting up garbage. instead, they tax us a $1.00 per transaction??? milk milk milk.
my main gripe with blizzard is that they stopped catering to the customer. they stopped listening to the very people that made them a success. all they are focused on now is pushing out a half @$$ product and trying to milk as much money as they can out of it. every one of their actions is a clear indication of that. -
Maybe... Culture is maybe the best word to describe it.
Its been known even during the game development that there will be rmah. Its obviously to milk money from players. We all know them (bliz) from WoW. We all had disappointments and frustrations from that game. So knowing all of those, why are we all still buying their games and playing them?
Its as simple as that. We should have expected the outcome.
You guys bought the game after all those issues, you guys played the game and finished the story, you guys are certainly disappointed about the game, but why are you still playing it? Why didn't you guys return it? Hoping for changes maybe?
Now we are all here whether we like the game or not. If we get tired of the game, we can always quit. If we cant quit despite of all our complains then we can all just suck it up. Happy gaming -
Us Europe folks are only getting the RMAH tomorrow. I got some legendary stuff to put up, but the most I'll do is trade the cash I get for other items really...
-
My friends are averaging 100-150$/per day in the RMAH. I don't think it's going to last too long, though - who knows, it might.
They're Demon Hunters and Wizards.
Everyone has abandoned their Monks/Warriors (one guy traded his WD for a DH) because they're terrible at farming and doing end-game inferno compared to the DH/WZ.
All you need is a few million gold and your DH/WZ can handle end game content+farming. Melee requires x10 that (especially Monk) and they will still run into issues.
Note:
If you do use the RMAH to sell, make sure you connect the funds to your paypal and not the Blizzard store. You'll get Blizzard dollars instead that you can use on their ridiculously overpriced merchandise such as the gaming headset and mouse they're offering. -
-
I've sold 3 items for $250 each. I kept all three items for RMAH. That being said I have played the game for a total of 100+ hours, in my free time. Currently farming act 3 siegebreaker and ac4 as a Wizard with godly gear. I expect several more act4 inferno runs will get me another amulet or ring, or 1400+ dps SH weapon i can sell for close to 250.
At this point I have paid for ALL games I have purchased in the last 5 years.
*That being said. If you have mediocre gear and are a Wizard or Demon Hunter, I recommend Act3 siegebreaker runs with 5 NV stacks or Act4 part 2 with 2+ nv. It is so easy to run and get good loot you can sell on the RMAH.
** I only do coop runs with other Wizards or Demon hunters. We kick all monks and most barbs. -
^ ^ wow thats impressive for only 100 hours of gameplay naticus.
I personally like the real money auction house. i've found quite a few good deals.; (i found a 16 damage/75 strength/15% attack speed/4.5% crit chance ammy for $5 in there) I would have had to farm ~1.5 million gold to buy something similar in the gold auction house. Farming that amount of gold takes about ~5 hours nowadays.
If my time isn't worth $1 / hour i'm doing something wrong with my life -
I have sold over 25 million on the gold auction house from early farming act3/4 so my toon is OVER geared. -
That being said I would rather do 2 or 3 easy Siegebreaker runs with 5 neph and get great gear than a 2+ nv run on act4.
Make no mistake Act4 is hell for everyone, 150k Dps or not. -
the politic changed dramatically. you can see it in the world of warsraft series. after tbc they stopped to produce new ideas and trying to sell same old content tuned to current level. thats realy sad. -
oh man i wish i could find something worth half of that. my drops at the min with 4 NV have been garbage. im currently demon hunter inferno act 1. getting owned casue of gear. trying to farm gold to slowly build up gear. oh man

Just to be clear I dont have any hate/disdain/lack of respect for any player that buys or sells on the RMAH.
I do however have disappointment and even severe dislike in Blizzard making Diablo 3 largely focused around RMAH and profiteering off of it. So many great aspects of Diablo have been changed to accommodate the RMAH and subtly direct players there to keep money flowing into Blizzards pockets.
It is a great idea in theory to implement a 1st party auction house but alas human greed gets in the way and turns a great idea into something that completely ruins one of the best gaming franchisees I have ever known. -
-
i'm starting to wonder which one is worst. D3 fanbois or the Apple ones...?
@jinda: yeah...i'm just gonna ignore u from now on lol. it seems like u prefer to respond out of assumptions and personal bias opinions rather than facts, logic, and comprehension. -
You make so many excuses to avoid intelligent conversation anyway.
Bringing up age, language and mentality differences because you cant think of anything better to say or anything to justify your point? I suggest you go to blizzard site and complain your hearts out. Maybe its gonna give you some peace of mind. -
Does anyone have a guest pass they can spare? I really want to try the game, but I'm not willing to drop $60 flat out on it.
-
bro don't pretend, it is obvious.. No one 37 says "go buy food"...

Decided to try something different with my farming procedure. I thought since I can't exactly farm elites in my MF gear yet I can somehow solo warden and butcher in inferno, I'm running butcher runs in my normal gear to stack 5 valor, but switching to mf gear to kill warden and butcher.
In 3-4 hours of doing runs, I got a stash page full of items that sell for 50-100k each, salvaged everything not worth selling, a ring that sold for 5 million in 10 minutes, 2 legendaries and a set item. Not bad. -
I'm gonna buy this as soon as i get my P150EM next month. Was wondering, heard there was a bunch of character roll back issues, does it still happen?
-
-
I definitely have two guest passes to share if someone needs one. Shoot me a PM for it.

Goodness!! I'm just happy that I live in Act1 of NM lol. Someone post a nice link to where I can read up more about creating the characters better, gear, etc.? I'm just now creating a wizard.. only lvl 9 atm.
-
-
i did, i mean great rings dont drop every day, right? =)
-
done! the game has finally paid for itself.
now i can happily try out Tera or the GW2 beta.
wizard will be the easiest to play and conquer with. -
-
I can't wait to get back to my apartment so I can play and use the RMAH.
-
I already made the money back my brothers and I spent on Diablo III. Feels good.
-
I am done with this game. Can't progress in act 2 inferno due to being undergeared probably. But wait, act 1 doesn't really drop anything worthwhile unless I have a lot of time to farm gold for AH. But wait, stuff on AH are just too overpriced.
-
For example (Wizard) ..."Kiting":
- Teleport: Reversal is pretty much a requirement - Fracture is second best.
- Blizzard: Snowbound is better for kiting than the one suggested - you can create a trail of slows and spam it frequently due to the lower cost.
- Shock Pulse - Piercing Orbs: This trumps any other signature spell (replace Magic Missile).
- Diamond Skin - Crystal Shell: Alot of top players take this over Magic Weapon. Better to DPS a little bit longer and have an "extra life" every 15 seconds.
- Hydra - Acid is correct, only hydra you should be using end-game.
- Energy Armour - Force Armour: Preferred with many since Wizards don't stack much resist, therefore you will not need the 20% from Prismatic Armour.
I took a quick glance at the Monk talents and some of the talents are also incorrect.
To me, it looks like whoever posted these talents hasn't farmed inferno Act 3/4 and/or hasn't made several hundred dollars since the launch of RMAH (based on the Wizard and Monk talents - I did not look at the other three classes) -
Gotta love easter eggs. I didn't get screens when I went into Quality Well, oh well.
