Yeah haha, Kunkka and Tidehunter are like arch-enemies. If Tidehunter kills ______ (i fogot which hero it was) he will say, "Geez _______ you smell worse than Kunkka!"
-
Haha I read that in his lore taht he doesn't like Kunkka. Now it makes sense because one game sometime back, I was top laning with Kunkka and this one player said, "whoaaaa Kunkka and Tide working together?? That's odd.." I thought he was just talking trash because we killed him so much. haha.
Does anyone know if they have books or comics in regards to these dota heroes? I'd really be interested in reading them as some of their lore are really cool. That Tide and Kunkka deal sounds like a good read and Dragon Knight's lore seems pretty awesome. -
not sure if there is any literature, but the kunkka and tide thing makes sense, kunkka is a boat captain, and tide is a sea monster. they would have a history together.
-
Yeah there's a few heroes that have some kind of story behind them, like Lina and CM are sisters (and will give snide remarks to each other when killed), windrunner insults drow sometimes (aww, go back to your forest and retrain or something to that effect).
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Ursa likes to insult alot of heros, of course he is the only hero that can solo Roshan as low as level 6.
God will you people get on Dota 2, I am sick of random Single Draft teammates, I think I've lost 3 games straight, games lasting less than 30 minutes. -
haha, i like when pudge misses a hook, he waves his hands and goes 'bahh!'

I'm in the NBR Dota group, Baka should be on. :3
Tried a new Bloodseeker build; Powertreads, Sange and Yasha, Abyssal Blade, Force Staff. -
That force staff on bloodseeker is such a troll item! haha. It's so funny when rupture + force staff. I never really see that with in pub matches. In a 5v5 inny, my friend played bloodseeker with a force staff and one of my teammates was completely caught offguard with it. This was his exact quotes:
"Haha Mell (our friend playing bloodseeker) just ruptured me. Watch me stand here and TP out."
Force Staff leading to his death
" WAS THAT?!?! DID YOU GUYS SEE THAT?? DID THEY BUFF BLOODSEEKER?!?!"
Me: "No...Mell used force staff after he ruptured you and after you started your TP"
Hilarity ensued in global chat. haha -
Baka suggests reading all the hero bio in the learn tab to know which one's matched with who ._.
Baka still stands with Baka's assassin bloodseeker item build -
Yea, I enjoy trolling people right after I kill them with Rupture/forcestaff, with trite phrases like:
"May the Force be with you"
"The Force will be with you, always"
=P -
BTW glimpse (Disruptor skill) should work with rupture
, I use it sometimes in DotA LoD in WC3, which is a custom version of dota that essentially allows you to customize your own hero. Glimpse + rupture is one of those fun trolling combos.
So yeah if you happen to have a disruptor on your team, try it. Glimpse has a travel time, so it kinda makes them 'travel' back to their location 4 seconds ago. Depending on the distance, it can hurt xD. Not to mention the cast range on glimpse.
I have yet to confirm it in dota 2 but I guess i'll go disruptor/bloodseeker if I see a teammate choose one of em. -
Woah woah woah. I randomed Lich today. He was so fun. I think I went 9/1/16.
My item build was: Braces, Tranquil, Mekansm, Shiva's, and was starting Bloodstone, but it ended.
Skill build: R>E>Q>W. -
Simon can start skilling with ultimate? ._. Baka calls hax
-
Haha I call shenanigans too!
Ok I think I sent out a few invites to the people in the NBR DotA group last night. I posted on the NBR group if anyone wanted to get a game, waited a bit, but no one responded =(. Machiavelli (I forgot which NBR member that was) replied, but I was already in game with friends. Soon this NBR game shall happen! -
Baka dislikes playing public matches. Baka only plays bots ._.
Also, any server that's not Singapore tends to disconnect Baka. Alot. Last time Baka played with Hime in USW, Baka got disconnected about 20-ish times in one game. -

When using Lich's ultimate, make sure they are grouped together and away from creeps. Chain Frost won't do much if it bounces off creeps.
You should level 2 Frost for 1 of his mana regen. Also helps deny creeps. I wonder if Shadow Blade works well with Lich.
Sceptre works will Lich, extra damage and more bounces. Easy way to get double/triple kills. -
Lich can get pretty nasty during the right circumstances.
Baka, how's your connection in a lobby match? I'm sure you'll be taking part in this NBR 5v5. -
Ah. here was my stats for the lich game.

Yeeup. That falls in line with other AoE type and target point of spells like Witch Doctor's stun (if you're near the target, it can bounce to you), Kunkka's Ghost Ship (once you hear that bell toll, run away from everyone), and even Mirana's arrow.

Ahh yeah, Dendi. Isn't Na'Vi like the best DotA team in the world at the moment? I nkow they just won that International tourament.
Anyways, it's always interesting to see Dendi play. So far, my favorite Dendi game was when he played Rubick against M5 or mouz. He made it key to spell steal black hole from their Enigma and he would use it in the most clutch moments that lead to their win. It's crazy. -
Does anyone know if you purchase one of those tournament tickets if a caster comes along with it or its simply just watching it live?
-
Pretty sure the tournament tickets are to attend the event in person.
-
-
Yeah those tickets are to watch the tournaments live right from the comforts of you own home. I wanna say that a caster comes along with it. When I watch the uploads by Purge or Toby, the speaking cloud icon is always on in the game that they're casting.
Last night, I wanted to play a new hero, so I decided to go with Necro. Had some good fun with him. He's really tank and man, his ulti....his ulti can one shot somebody that's below 55% hp. I also like his heartstopper aura. Early game, it's pretty much enough to cancel out hp regen or even make tango ticks less effective. -
-
haha luckily for Huskar in that game, we were both on the same team. I felt a bit awkward with necro as he was a ranged guy, but you needed to be up close to use his abilities and every time I got close in team fights, I ended up going down just after getting a death pulse off to heal my teammates.
-
Build Necrolyte semi-tanky with lots of mana regen. Bloodstone and Force Staff are very good on him. Then grab Scythe and Aghanim's. Phase Boots for boots and Dagon if Arnski requires a quick burst to ulti combo. Starting with Dagon LV1 early on will yield lots of kills

Naga looks nasty, clones, disables Blink, ouch..
Fun game as Brewmaster, Assault Curiass, Powertreads, Vanguard, Vladimir, Blink Dagger and Skullbasher.

Wonder if I built Drow right;
First got wraith things, then Powertreads, Shadow Blade, Dadelus, Manta Style, Helm of the Dominator, Assault Cuirass -
That is correct. Unless Hime keeps the frost shot on autocast then it's wrong.
-
yeeup. that's how I see most player build drow. Shadow blade and manta are definite items on her. Everything thereafter, they usually go crit items.
Played as Enchantress during a Random Draft game and she actually isn't too tough to play. Jungling is SUPER easy with her and it's fun to set up ganks with the Troll Witch Doctor, keeping lane equilibrium with the bird that does tornado, and ensuring kills with the Centaur. Mid to late game, her enchant and impetus really get to shine and she becomes SUPER powerful. I wasn't sure if I should've kept getting creeps during that time, so I didnt, but then I watched some tournament play and they would keep enchanting creeps to bring along.
My only question is, is there an easier way to micro multiple units? I mean I have the function turned on where you can use the CTRL key to command your hero and all the other units you have control over. But is there an easier way to select a creep to use his ability instead of being a clicker? Found that if I had a bit faster and better micro, I would've been able to select a creep fast enough to use their ability and get some kills. -
Sorry for the double post (for some reason, I can't get into the edit function..most likely an issue with my work computer).
Anyways, forgot to mention that I played a game with some fellow NBRtians last night, tinytop69 and hakira. Good times with both =). I feel like we should have won that 2nd game. We got towers and everything, but I just feel like we didn't take advantage of that by continuing to push or we didnt take advantage after winning team fights. We let them get too much farm doing that. We did pretty well shutting down that naix and mortred, but we just let them get farm off our pushing creep =\. Next time though! -
With enchant I usually pick up the wolf later in the game, you get a good crit aura, really helps the team damage output. If you have 2, get the Wildkin for the tornado to help with push/team fight

Ahhh wildkin is what is was called. Haha thanks! Yeah from the tournament games I've watched, I learned to use the wildkin for pushing. I'll keep look out for that wolf next time.
It just felt awkward because there were times I'd go up to get a creep or two and my team would ping me and tell me "Why are you all the way over there when we're all over here?" Still did pretty well that game (despite forgetting a couple times that I could use enchant to slow enemies lol) -
Anyone with GTX670m are having issues on max settings 1080p? I got an avarage 25fps..that's really bad when playing dota D:
-
Most likely you have Intel HD running. -
With GPU-Z i noticed that my GPU is being used ..but GPU load is about 5%...why god D:
Drivers are up to date.. -

Baka just ignores everyone and afk farms until Baka becomes useful ._. Most of the time people would be all "Omg 3 mid we need all 5 to defend this" and then idle at mid tower for 5 minutes before they notice the enemy didn't bother pushing that far.
-
-
Yea I hate those stupid unncessary stalemates where my teammates neglect their lanes 5 minutes in the game to defend a 150 hp tower mid while enemy lycan is farming away the jungle (enemy has 3 visible heroes mid but so what?). Then they wonder why lycan is 16 by the time we are 11.
-
Oh and by the way Necrolyte is the hero of choice when enemy team is stupid enough to pick 4-5 tank heroes for obvious reasons (similar to Slardar or BH being an obvious choice against multi-invis hero picks). Usually I end with Necro having Radiance, Linkens, Sheepstick, Aghanims, Skadi. Pretty tanky himself indeed.
-
Another hero of choice against tanky teams would be Lifestealer
Watch as their pathetic damage can't even scratch your health bar that's constantly regenerating a lot due to their high hp -
That sounds like a beasty Necro!
Yeah, I agree about those stalemates. Had some happen in a game last night. Everyone wanted to go gank Clinkz and so we'd run to whatever lane he was in and hide and wait in the jungle, thinking we could gank him. Nope. Next thing we know he's in the opposite lane already. Then they wanted to run to that lane, wait in the jungle, and same thing. It wasn't long before I was like, "forget this..we're wasting time and farm trying to cat-and-mouse this Clinkz.."
Had a good game with Enchantress yesterday though. Pretty happy about that. Learned to use TAB to cycle through my creep to use their abilities. And I'm always amazed at how strong her impetus can get. So good. I had a wildkin hidden somewhere in the trees in mid lane, doing the tornado, and the Kunkka on the other team just stood in the tornado, taking the damage. It seemed like he didn't know what was going on and I could just imagine him being in their team's chat going like, " is this tornado?! Is this some new DotA map graphics they put in game???"
One question, how do you counter more than 1 stealthy? In one of the games I played, we played against a team that had both a BH and a Riki. Needless to say we got eaten up alive. We sentry warded and dusted early on and we thought we had shut them down, but later on, even though we had dust and gem, they seemed to have come back and during team fights and they picked us off one at a time. -
