Decided to do a new Chaos Knight build; 14-2-7, end game items Vanguard, Monkey King Bar, Powertreads, Manta Style, Satanic, and Aegis. I dropped Armlet as it's a real waste IMO, and I went straight for Manta after Vanguard. Satanic after Manta, then MKB.

Skipping on the armlet?? I understand DotA is all about playstyle and build your heroes according to your playstyle, but I would have to say armlet is a must on CK. It synergizes too good with Phantasm and Manta Style to pass up. His illusions benefit from the +STR you get when you activate it. 5 strong illusions is pretty terrifying. Plus, for how cheap it is, it's pretty cost effective. But hey, if your build worked, rock out with your ck out (cwutididthar?)

Anyways, fun time with some of Baka and other NBR homies last night! Felt bad I was only able to stick around for 1 game, but it was fun nonetheless. Now who was I in the group with besides Baka?? And it was pretty funny infesting in Windrunner....all....of....the........TIME.....

Ahhh nice nice! Good times =). We all gotta play more together.

Also yesterday, had a decent game as Venomancer. Played more of a support role, warding and getting chick and whatnot. We were getting our ends handed to us early game and mid game, we lost our T1 towers within the first 5 minutes and our T2 shortly after. But towards late game was when we all started synchronizing as a team in our team fights. Our Tiny would blink and initiate with our N'aix infested inside him. Then the rest of the team would jump in and all sync our ults. We won our teamfights and we eventually came back for the win. Luckily, for us, the other team had a bad Shadowfiend. At one point a couple of us were chasing him and he tried to juke us by going through some trees. I blocked the opening with a ward which forced him to run back, right out to us.

You made someone mad by infesting Windrunner, adunno why you didn't infest me, I was the Beastmaster...I would always initiate and nobody would come in.

Ahhh so it was you, not baka! Nice nice! (Still getting used to everyone's in-game name versus their NBR names)

I did infest in you a couple times. It was just that when we were running towards teamfights, WR was always the closest. Luckily the Radiant team got close enough a couple of times to where I could pop out and the AoE damage would still hit them.

Haha! Well m1_1x, it was a pleasure to be inside of you-I MEAN it was a pleasure to meet you and game with you.

*whispers in your ear* we all know you secretly liked it...

Plus, if I do pick N'aix again and you go Chen, you have more of a priority to jungle than N'aix would, so I'd just lane. Some say, N'aix is better laning than in the jungle.

I'd say 50% of my losses are due to crappy teammates. I saw a Storm Spirit end game with a bottle, 2 x Null Talisman, and Perserverance, pretty god awful. I've also seen a Faceless Void with 5 x Wraith Bands and Powertreads.

With Sven, you warcry and then do the stun right? Makes it hit stronger? I haven't played sven since the first time I played him. haha.

So for a while now, I've watching some DotA2 commentary on youtube and some casters play in pubs on their streams and I realized that I need to start playing like they do, especially early game. I noticed they aren't afraid to stay in lane and get their last hits and they end up with some of their core items before the 10 minute mark. That's not to say that I don't do that, I do have games where I get my core before that 10 minute mark, but I need to do this more often than not. I think this is partly where my gaming in DotA falls off. Like there were games where I'd finish a blink dagger on Tidehunter wayyy later than I should have or I'd finish a mek on a support way later than I should have.

Uhh before Blink Dagger, I try to hide and position for little running to initiate with Storm Hammer. If NECESSARY I use Warcry as I normally use that for retreating, but during battle it gives you a huge armor bonus. But with Blink, I blink, launch Storm Hammer, BKB, then God's Strength and just annihilate them. :)

I've just began playing the game, but it still feels a bit strange after LoL :). As I'm starting to get used to it though I think I might enjoy it more than LoL; Dota is a bit more complex and I like the graphics style better too.

I'm still playing mostly based on guides from DotaFire while I'm learning all the items, but the game is pretty fun this way too. So far I like Jakiro (the 2 headed dragon) the most (and I've had the most success with him :p).

Btw do you guys play together sometimes / is there an organised team on the forum?

Baka forgot how to play DotA 2 now ._. Baka should get some games in later...

Baka believes that Hime constantly plays with City, SoySauce and another guy Baka forgot who ._. Arnski plays quite a bit too. It shouldn't be too hard finding a group to play with here

playing with friends is better, you learn quicker and develop teamwork skills because you don't spend most of the game yelling at your teammates to help.

Baka rarely plays due to lack of friends to play with and huge lag issues ._. Baka's pretty much forced to just hold in the rage and play alone

Not like Baka's any good to begin with to be picky on how skilled Baka's teammates are anyway

Yeah I had some awful teammates yesterday, a Bounty Hunter that did not use track on Riki, and I had ganked Riki so bad with wards/dust early, Dazzle who wouldn't use ultimate during team fight. I understand as Vengeful Spirit is support and I was buying all the wards, but the Bounty Hunter was not counter-warding.

Played a fun game with NYX today. played the burst Spell caster role, with a dagon, arcane boots, drum, Bkb and I did most the warding, leaving skeleton king to carry. Had lots of fun.

I've manage to hold a pretty even (50/50) win rate with 99% solo queues. not too bad, but sometimes it gets really frustrating if you have a lot of bad ones in a row.

I haven't hopped onto dota in days! And might be that way for a long time...might need to sell my laptop cuz I need the extra cash =\.

Anyways...yeah, definitely play with friends if you can. It's especially better when you guys can all Skype so you don't have to type and you won't have to press a hotkey to activate the talk feature. Dota is definitely one of those games where communication is key. And its nice to have people to mess around with during the boring parts of the game like when laning/farming/dead.

Sometimes, bashing your teammates is more fun especially when they rage quit after your constant bashing. :D Feels better than godlike haha. It's also fun reading how two or three of your teammates bash each other. But this is assuming you're not too serious about the match for the moment.

I can tolerate people who are really noobs but doesn't bash anyone. What I really hate is when a teammate suddenly blames me or others for their own stupidity. There are plenty of stupid people in moba games who think they are pros. But this is part of the game so we need to learn to deal with these kinds of people.

WHOA I just had an awesome game as Pudge, maybe their team was just crappy but normally I can never hook anything. I had to ward the mid, but man. I think I got the hook timing down. The biggest thing is an unexpected teammate blocks you, or I had Beastmaster move his hawk right in front of my hook, was going to hook Vengeful Spirit. https://dotabuff.com/matches/36139731

Sachiel: My favorite is when you're team is doing so good that the opposing team starts to take their arguments from their own team chat into all chat. Now that always feels good. Haha.

And I got votebanned in DotA1, too. Haha. I remember it like yesterday. Played Yurnero...died one time...the flame started....died two times....boom...out. I packed up the game WC3 and returned it (yep, believe it or not, I was able to sweet talk Target into allowing me to return the game back...lol)

Still haven't hopped on to play a few DotA matches =[. Hopefully I can get a few in today. Yesterday though, I did spectate a few of the International tournament matches. It's crazy to watch the pros go at it. And I like the spectator feature where you can listen to the caster and set your view to their view. Pretty smart.

Hime: I wanna see LGD go far. They were killing it from what I remember, I dunno what their score is now though. Man, yesterday I was watching a cast of the Na'Vi vs. Tong'fu game. Na'Vi was in the Rosh pit. Tong'fu saw this and came to counter it. Nope. Clutch Dark Seer Wall + Vacuum and Enigma Black Hole. Completely wiped the Tong'fu team out.

Anyways, I dunno what time I'll be on tonight, but Hime and I were gonna get a game or two in tonight. If you wanna join, hop on around 7-8pm PST!

SO true... I was really surprised at the lack of extreme raging in Dota 2 that has become common place in wc3 Dota games.

I have to admit that sometimes the overall ridiculousness of the fights that go on in all chat are pretty hilarious.

Yeah Tong-Fu is meh. Worse is Mouz, they got annhilated, I feel for MUFC, their captain lost their passport and were forced to DQ and allow in Mouz. EHOME has been doing pretty badly, just early misplay causes the whole game to go badly. Na'vi is still explosive, but IMO after they lost artstyles, they were finished. Artstyles went to Darer, which isn't a very good team overall. EG is now the new Na'Vi going for the explosive gameplays. I still say iG is still overall better team than LGD, but we'll see over the weekend.

Ahhhh ArtStyle left Na'Vi? No wonder when I was watching the Orange/Darer game, the caster kept saying ArtStyle and I was wondering if that was the same ArtStyle as the one in Na'Vi.

Played some fun games as Bounty Hunter and as Crystal Maiden yesterday after a 4-5 day hiatus. It's pretty fun as BH to roam around and help with ganks and catch your enemies alone...especially with an orchid. They can't do anything but right-click you or try and run away. haha. Did pretty well as CM yesterday. Of all the times I've played CM, I still haven't really used her ult. I know it's strong, but it boils down to two things. One is my team is completely obliterating the other team and there really any time for me to jump in the middle of a fight outside of doing my Q and W to use her ult or our team is the one getting completely obliterated. Two is the game never lasts long enough for me to buy a blink dagger (after getting Mek/Drums/Euls) to really blink in there to surprise the other team with the ult.

Counter picking is one of the most important things in captain's mode. Adunno I thought mouz had decent teamwork but couldn't hold it together end game. And they kept on losing crucial teamfights which results in quick gg.

Don't mean to beg... but can anyone hook me up with a beta key? I filled out the survey ages ago and still haven't got one. None of my steam friends have any either...

    Pretty please :D

niharjahatn: How long ago did you send it? Did you check your email's spam folder? It's been known to end up in there.

Good times with Hime yesterday. Him as SK and me as Sven. Actually it got off to a rocky start. We got harassed hard in our lane...I died 3 times. We lost our T1 towers pretty fast. Our BH was a lame. Then we won a few teamfights to save our mid T2 tower and that's where the game changed. I would initiate in with my ulti and stun. Our Necro was finally being an okay support with his Mek and heals and I think he bought dust which allowed us to catch the Drow who had a gem. Hime was catching them offguard with his epicenter burrow which was always perfect because they always stayed grouped and never moved away from him. I ended off 17/3/10. gg

Yeah they kept on pushing towers early and gave up early split push, caught us off guard. Of course they were all bunched up so my 1st epicenter completely changed the game, us killing all 5 of them and us losing 1 person. Their Omniknight was so bad, sometimes using his ultimate on only 1 person (himself). Eventually they fed us so much, I got blink after 2nd team fight and quickly built up Sceptre.

WOOP! Slow day at work, so I decided to leave early. Leaving in 10 minutes. Get to go home, enjoy a few brews, play some DotA, and watch The International!!
