Baka never bothered with builds ._. Play them as they go
Hime sometimes gets dumbfounded by Baka's weird item choices
-
I don't mind newbies as long as they cooperate and listen to advice and more importantly, newbies that don't trashtalk. I won't mind losing if my random teammates are friendly.
Zeus is very strong, one of my fave heroes. I use him when I'm lazy and when I needed to win a game. Good thing people don't know how to counter him very much hehe. -
Baka is absolutely hating all the lags and disconnects that Baka is getting lately
It's not even playable
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
:| the crappy bots we had were even worse. Level 14 Tiny and 17 Sniper...weak!
-
Zeus is fairly easy to use...very noob friendly. I would say 3rd to lion and lich for best earlygame hero in dota.
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Zeus is okay, but eh he's slow and doesn't really have an escape mechanism. Plus if you drain your mana pool, you are HOSED with Zeus, his normal attacks sucks.
I think Lina is a great early ganker, she has a fairly strong mana pool and can nuke REALLY fast, esp with her early stun and if you have another stun/slow attacker with you. -
Lina with another slower/stunner can be devastating early on in lane. I've played her myself a lot and is one of my favorite nukers because of the great stun aoe/nuke range combo and low cooldowns. I usually go Arcane Boots, bottle and get a Ghost scepter on her (very useful as you will be targeted by melee heroes who will try to stop your disabling early on) and Scepter followed by Ethereal blade late game.
With excellent early nuking you can create a great early domino effect which will throw your lane enemies behind for early-mid game usefulness. Of course teamplay is still key in any Dota match and this can be overcome, but it can be very devastating to an enemy team to have 2 underleveled allies early on and can shift the balance of the game in your complete favor followed by some good full team pushing and ganking.
Late game her passive atk speed passive ability is NOT to be underestimated. A very good tactic late game is to spam all your nukes in a row including your ultimate to follow up with very decent dps, especially if you have ethereal blade and timed the eth -> casts right. -
Baka likes Kunkka, Pugna, Phantom Lancer and Windrunner ._. Though Baka can use pretty much any hero as long as Baka does not lag
Except Chen and Furion ._. -
Tell me about it. I game on wifi and I've gotten used to having micro lags and 5-6 second spikes at the worst times
I love Pugna and Windrunner as well. -
Apparently Baka had been playing on 500-1200ping lately
It's a problem around the country for Baka
-Points at picture in The Random Thread- -
I think I may have found my new favorite hero: Vol'Jin (Witch Doctor).
Played 2 games (that's the most I can afford in a day after getting home from work, going out to skate, coming home to cook dinner, and dishes) with him and I did so well with him. Both games, I was in really good teams against other real good teams. One game I had to solo lane (Lycan was jungling) against a Sven and Lina and man that was tough, but the Sven kept towerdiving me, so I'd stun him with Q at the tower and I'd have a free kill. Haha. Between my W heal and my Urn, I kept people healed up well, even during team fights. Constantly got the "ty for the pro heals" message in chat. Good times. -
For Witch Doctor, put up heal aura, Start ult and use Shadow Blade ._.
Witch Doctor goes invis, still channels ult and no one can stun unless they have non-single target stun :3 If done quick enough, no one would even notice there's a witch doctor ult until it's too late
-
It becomes 2x more effective if you can throw up a maledict before as well. Even if they realize, they die when they run from the dot. But considering it's all pub games, no one ever buys dust to counter him.
-
When it comes to pubs you have to take matter in your own hands. As soon as you know there are invis heroes/builds to counter you buy dust yourself and always buy wards. Best way to win in pubs is to take these small sacrifices in your gold coffers and give an advantage to an otherwise clueless team.
-
Sounds schmexy. I'll have to try that (^_^)
For some reason, the total of 3 games I played with WD (2 yesterday and 1 the night before), they never lasted long enough for me to get Shadow Blade. I may have to toy around with other item builds. As of right now, I start off by going towards Arcane Boots (might try Phase next time) and Urn. Then I usually start going toward Aghanim's and the game usually ends before I can complete Aghanim's. Might try for Shadow Blade before Aghanim's later today. -
I know, I usually play with 2+ friends so we communicate very well in these situations. But in most pub games if you ask someone to get dust, they tell you to get it. Even if you're the team's only carry. Whenever I play support I spend all my money on courier & up, wards, dust and even gems late game, while stacking aura items and mek. It isn't a sacrifice for a support to this, but for a carry the difference in 200 gold can be a situation changer. Also, you're assuming your team doesn't KS making your investment a wash. So many factors, but in the end, your carry or semi-carry should never be the one buying the dust because you'll be dependent on him 30+ min into the game. Of course we are talking about pubs & carries.
-
It's fun to be in a game with 4 carries and that one support that tries to be a carry...............not.
I like playing with my two buddies who know how to play. They're the ones that wait to see what everyone else picks before they pick their heroes to see what the group needs. -
Heh playing with buds in pubs is definitely fun and much easier as you already have 2 people with whom you have an established understanding.
That alone gives an advantage over all the other people fighting over mid solo and KS's.
Team discord is the #1 factor in a losing team... if some of my allies start to get in an argument I always try to calm them down, as I know that the team will fail otherwise. -
There are some servers that are extremely laggy. Maybe I should turn off the China region. But most of the time, there's no lag, but it's very sensitive to lag when you're downloading and playing at the same time.
-
Just started warming to the game. So far just been playing against bots. Broodmother, Viper and Venomancer for now. It'll take some time for me to get used to the shops though. As well as think of other item/stat builds that aren't available (i.e. old/new builds from DotA).
-
Did a test game with Hirohata a few minutes ago ._. Still unplayable
It used to be fine and then it just happened
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
We did an automatic server and 1 x Singapore game and since then the lag seems to be unbearable. Valve needs moar servers for Dota 2 if they want to release F2P to the masses.

Wow. So last night was a rough night for some DotA2. My friend invited me to his group and so it was 5 of us. Once we got into the loading screen for our first game, I start checking the profiles of our opponents and they had 250+ wins! When I checked my buddies' profiles, they all had about 250+ wins also and that's when I realized that I completely forgot about the matchmaking system. (O_x). The level of skill is noticably higher than what I was used to playing against.
That first game we lost. Our group was Witch Doctor (me)/Silencer/Dazzle/Tidehunter/Storm Spirit. It started off so bad, but then towards about 20 minutes in, the other team got cocky and we started catching up. We'd catch them split up. We'd D so hard they couldn't get any towers. We started catching them in kills. Would you guys consider a 45 minute game getting owned? Their maiden kept saying we got owned, but I wouldn't consider a 45 minute game getting owned. lol. It was the first time I actually felt like a support and had to act like a support.
The second game was a single draft game and I knew I was screwed at that point. Of the 3 heroes I was given, I only knew how to play OD, but even then I hadn't played him in a long time. It was another highly skilled game and I completely got my handed to me. Absolutely horrible. Needless to say, I got chewed out, but I wasn't the only one. We were all doing bad except for this other guy (one guy from our original party had left), and he was chewing us all out. ahah -
Couldn't even play last night, was greeted by the strangest of bugs:
http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/541803165990526902/281D82E7D2747E3E02610A866112A5EAD641AC5B/
baka what servers do you have selected/are you playing on, and where are you connecting from? -
Any game that you can hold off without the other team just screwing around which lasts more than 30mins is a pretty good game if you ask me. Your game doesn't even count as being owned in my opinion.
-
I figured the same! In all honesty, they were pretty good players, but we should've had that game, especially after our comeback. Since we played bad early on, we lost our tier 1/2 towers, and then we got stuck playing defense the whole game. We had some very good pushes and we won a majority of team fights, but we just had to keep going back to our tier 3s and our bases to defend. Good game nonetheless, minus that maiden who thinks a 45 minute game is getting owned. Haha.
-
Well as it stands right NOW I'm busy with exams, so I haven't play for a week or two now.. so I would imagine some other champion has occupied the HOTM spot haha
-
Haha right on right on. Actually, one of the games last night, I played against a Zeus.
GL on your exams! -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
First game as bots with NS...33-1 lol. Man is he broken and NASTY at night.
-
Connecting to Singapore servers from Brunei. Baka supposedly get 80-150 ping if it's working right but now everyone gets 500 ping minimum ._. Last time Baka could even play USW with 200-300ping just fine. Problem just surfaced a few months before. Might be about February or March.
-
Don't be intimidated on the wins of the opponent. Played with players with 400-500 wins in LoL and we could still beat them easily.
Played witch doctor yesterday too and one of our team mates quit so it's 4 vs 5. We still won though. After we destroyed their middle last tower, their axe quit, then when we destroyed their top 3rd tower, another quit and they start blaming each other as usual. -
In fairness LoL has an elo system for everything (even normals) so after 50 or so games you will start being matched with people your skill level, regardless of number of games
-
ah yes, witch doctor. i do like the burst gank heros with late-game scaling. have never lost a game with tiny, for example.
-
I've been loving tinker lately. you can ust keep it coming with those boots of travel and rearm. so fun
-
Did you guys check out the newly released heros??
Nessaj aka Chao Knight
Mortred aka Phantom Assassin
I gotta say Mortred's ulti animation is probably one of the coolest. ALL THAT BLOOD. -
They're releasing Chaos Knight? Really?
-Screams like a fangirl- -
I believe so, if not now then probably soon.
Search for the channel "dotacinema" on youtube. They released two videos last night introducing both CK and Mortred. -
Nessaj, Mortred and Gyro?
-
Yeah I heard Gyro was also another hero to be released soon.
-
i will keep saying this, but techies is going to be last, if ever :/
pa took long enough to release, her skills are pretty cookie-cutter =P -
Yes but bottomline is, number of wins is overrated. Skill and teamwork is key.
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Gosh I can't keep up with all the new heros.
But good example of NOT to ignore your creeps. Not lying, our team was getting pretty beat up. A stupid lone bounty hunter always getting killed, stupid juggernaut would charge a venom. Only drow and SS worked with me. Heck end game we were 48-58 in kills. But 10 minutes before the game ended we ended up killing their whole team and pushed all lanes so our creep basically pwned their towers and eventually their ancient.
Of course end game only 8-2 with Heart of Tarrasque, Sange and Yasha, Power Treads, Daedalus, Vanguard. Pretty nasty combos esp with my ult and crit 600+.. -
I played this for quite some time now, and I don't know if it is only me; but league of legends just seem so much more fun...
-
'tis all personal preferences ._.
-
Rough weekend for DotA. I think of the 6-8 games I played this weekend, I won maybe like 2 or 3 of them.
Started playing Nature's Prophet and he's pretty fun to play. TPing to get some ganks, even using my ulti from the bot lane to snipe an opponent on the top lane is super nice. In one of the games, we were chasing a Bloodseeker and right when he got to some stairs, I blocked the stairs off with my sprout and then turned the sprout trees into treants to kill off Bloodseeker. We laughed hard about that, even the person playing Bloodseeker laughed at it. One of my favorite wins came from when the enemy team started pushing hard and they stuck together. Whenever they all came and pushed one lane, I would TP over to the opposite lane and push with the creep and my treants and when they would come and try to get me, I would TP over to another lane. Did this over and over and I got them to get into a definisive position in their base and it allowed us to push for the win. -
Baka thinks that Outworld Destroyer is mad strong ._.
-
Chaos Knight, Phantom Assassin, and Gyrocopter are out! My favorite out of the three is definitely gyro with his global missile...
(still waiting on Rubick) :/ -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
God we had a Phantom Assassin our team today, he easily had over 30 kills. 11-3 as Venomancer.
Her play is kinda similar to AM, just with slow.. -
One of the reasons he's one of my favorite heros to play. Plus I love hearing that WOOOOSH sound when you activate his arcane orb. But then again, as with all other heros, he's only strong if built and played right. As squishy as OD is, I've seen a ton of people (including myself) think they can initiate a team fight and then he just get's stomped.
When I got on yesterday, the first game I watched had all 3 new heros on one team. Interesting to see all three of them on the same team. PA seems like one of those solo farm heros. In all the games I watched yesterday that had a PA, they all played her as a solo farm. And her Coup De Grace animation is my favorite. Can't wait to try her out. Also can't wait to try out Gyro. -
I just played the worst game with Jakiro (possibly my least favorite hero). went 0-7 the, thanks to my team, was able to land some nice ulti's and ended up as 6-7. gosh i hate that hero.
