Then the overall game is too easy. My point is that you can't tell how "hard" Diablo 3 really is until you get to the later difficulties (inferno). Have you tried inferno? Has anyone here tried it yet? Hey let me beat the first 4 quests in normal and be like "omg this game is too easy boring :(", it's not like there's anyway to make the game harder you know.

It's like playing Dark souls for the first 10 minutes and calling it an easy game, when later on you die like a million times. People are too quick to judge nowadays. I was bored as hell for the first 30 minutes of the Hollywood version of girl with the dragon tattoo, I didn't call it boring as crap when it turned out to be an intense and amazing movie.

Here's the thing I'm afraid of though. As gear and loot become better and better. People will find exceptionally better items over time, thus making inferno easier and easier. I'm just afraid that it will turn out to be like D2 hell where well equipped characters can just wipe the floor with any sort of mob. You just need to give it time. Sure it will be hard at the start but what about after that? I hope they increase difficulty and add new monsters as time goes on.

Regardless this summer better be AWESOME.

Nope, ww barb, ss druid, bone necro and some other stink in hell(and pve in general) with godly gear.
D2 PvE had never been balanced (almighty iceblank lancer ,op fo ,multishot+mh where I thought I was playing raiden ].
D3 is advertised as "PvE" game so let see how it goes.

Co-op vs MMO, apples and oranges. Think games like Left4Dead / Magicka etc.

As long as its a co-op i am fine, but once you ve gone through normal / hell / etc its pretty much pve farming. And as far as pve farming goes i cant see why i cant compare pve to pve in any other game.

I mean when you can do complex strats and hard modes and achieving and coordinating stuff with 5-10-25 people, why would you keep slaying dumb mobs in diablo3?

ps not trying to say that wow is better (i kinda hate all sorts of repetitive pve) just trying to understand how blizz is going to sort it out.

Well...because your comment is very vague. Farming gear in WoW requires 10+ people to obtain top tier gear, not to mention the loe involved with all people. D3 will probably end up being like D2 eventually and you can solo everything and even if you can't getting together a couple of people to take on inferno (if it hasnt been removed, im behind in diablo) requires very little coordination.

i am just hoping that all this pve farming will lead to pvp end game and not just farm pve to do more pve which is exactly the same but faster. I mean blizzard is better then that, right? :p else i ll be a sad panda and go play GW2, which isnt exactly bad anyways

lol I understand! Well don't hold your breath...this is Blizzard and if they stick to their "WoW-esqe" approach to D3 we'll have 2 sets of gear...pvp and pve ;/ BUT DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT!

    Some spoilers in that trailer.

Imperius seems to be allying with Diablo (new form with the girl-like androgynous body); Imperius fights Tyrael too, makes sense then. Also a sword, maybe Azurewrath again, seems to be the focus in the struggles. Tyrael plunging it into the ground at the very end is possibly something similar to what he did to the worldstone in end of D2 expansion.

Looks like the players will be able to fight Imperius as well as Diablo.

Okay I just watched the PvP "Arena" video again.

Damn..I'm disappointed a bit. Now this looks really dry and uninteresting (WoW anyone?)..I loved the chaos D2 PvP had (every man for himself). You gotta manage against everyone who wants to jump you.

And i still play baldur's gate 2 in 2012 so that's just not the case

I don't mind weaker graphics with great art like D2 BG2 but something about D3 graphics screams ugly and i don't know how to describe it, I'll probably get D3 finish single player and then throw it away after that

Wow was and still ugly as sin characters wise, i always felt the characters just don't fit with the world, they created decent looking areas and zones but the characters in wow feels like a copy/paste but another game and does not belong to wow

While I pre ordered Diablo 3 and will be playing it I am not happy at all with the graphics.

They have completely lost the essence of Diablo. Now all I can see is a heavy WOW influence with low polygon count and everything have the slightly oversized look to it.

Maybe those would not be so bad if they were not amplified by the horribly low quality textures and lack of dynamic lighting.

I honestly don't think the graphics are that bad, it has been fixed up since the early stages of the game. To me, it provides a darker feel than Diablo 2 and was pretty scary when I played through Act 1 in the beta.

The graphics seems quite nice to me. In fact I couldn't care less about it as long as it's not too 1990ies. But maybe it's just me, I found that pretty much anything looks good on an RGB LED screen. :p

I much more appreciate a good gameplay. Not sure whether it will be as great success as D2, but from short time I spent playing the demo, I liked the gameplay and love playing it with my friends with whom I played tons of Diablo2.

If your definition of a good game is amazing graphics and the gameplay on the level of Doom2, go play Crysis or something.

I only had about an hour to play in the beta, but I was massively disappointed by the graphics. To me they looked to be on the level of WarCraft III but even grainier, and that was with everything cranked all of the way up. I'm still keeping my pre-order and playing but it might not hold my interest for long.

Instead of hating on the graphics, it would have been better to play through the story line and be immersed in the world of Sanctuary. I didn't see any grainy spots on my screen when I had all my settings maxed out.

Maybe it will be better on the M17x when it arrives. I had a very limited time playing and was mainly trying to learn the interface, but it seemed difficult to make out things on screen to me. I'm reserving full judgement for the released version when I can play for more than an hour on an old PC.

The usual nonsense from Diabolo 3 fans
read the thread, no one wants crysis level graphics, and i even said i don't mind BG2 or D2 graphics which is technically weaker graphics yet they looks more appealing

Diabolo 3 is like the greatest painter drawing portraits of an ugly person and D2 is average painter drawing a pretty portraits

Which one will looks more appealing to you?
It's hilarious how people dismiss D3 graphics issue as if it doesn't exist, you like them good for you but most people did complain about that even those who will buy it, if you didn't you are the minority.

There is a difference between graphics and art style. People complained about the art style (i.e. not being dark enough like diablo 2) stuff like that. I didn't hear anyone complain about "omg this graphics suck! like call of duty!"

i can imagine it MIGHT look not so cool on 27+ monitor. I'd want to zoom out most likely.

Question: i think i am asking it for a second time now — what price does it show you on battlenet for digital purchase? Blizzard support keeps saying that its 60 euro for european countries and i assume 60usd for usa?

60 euro is 80 usd so i guess its better to buy on amazon or smth? Anyone from eu here?

ps If you get something else then 60euro while living in eu make a screenie plx :p

I don't know what people want, the graphics looks quite similar (or almost the same actually) to Dota2 to me -- and both games look quite nice on my computer. And I don't remember seeing people complaining about Dota2 graphics. In fact League of Legends has even lousier graphics, yet they both (even Dota2 in beta) have quite large customer base.

If this game will make people who love shiny graphics go away, and attract people who will enjoy the actual gameplay -- I am all for it.

I don't give a rats about the graphics, heck I find many old 2D sprite games to be pretty. But D3 is not satisfying me in the gameplay-front at all, not from the demo, not from the game mechanics scrapped and/or modified to oblivion. It's just a glorified action clicker game with minimal planning and investment. Strangely it almost feels like a simplified Guild Wars 2 with some randomized loot.

That thought is good on premise but does not actually pan out in reality.
Take a look at WOW for a prime example.
You can hardly call its graphics shiny (heck they looked 'technically' old when the game was released) but there were/are still a million little tards playing it.

As for the people with the mentality of "Graphics are great if you dont like them go away and/or stop complaining, Ill do anything to defend Diablo III" give me a break already. You sound like a brain dead fan-boy (think Apple) that has no objectivity and cannot handle anyone having a non positive thought about what you love.

Immersive and quality game-play are why I play to begin with and Blizzard has always provided that which is why I play their games (already bought and downloaded DIII). I still have the right to my opinion, to be disappointed, and to hope for more.

Yep that's a different issue. Some of my friends liked it, but some haven't played the demo more than 5 mins, claiming "it's like D2 just much simpler. crap.". I thought it was OK, you don't have attributes and skill trees but you can swap around your skills and customize the character this way. The demo was too short to see whether this new system is really better or worse than the old one. Maybe it will turn out to be a complete fail... but I hope not. :(

I actually felt nostalgic playing it and since I haven't played D2 for so long, it seemed pretty fun for me. I also love the fact that it's global region and I can play with my friends both in the EU and the US. What bugs me a lot is actually the real money auction house. It just doesn't feel right to me.

Yeah it does look really similar to Dota 2, but Dota 2 is more demanding imo. The beta wasn't really optimized at the time anyway so there was so much lag and choppiness. Otherwise I can probably run the game almost maxed, whereas Dota 2 I have to literally turn everything but textures down to keep 60 fps and prevent laggy teamfights.
