That sucks... You can get 50Mbps in India now lol... I wish we could get Japan like Internet speeds here in the UK... However, I'm happy with 50Mbps... after all, my internet experience from 2002-2008 in Singapore was on a 56K internet connection![]()

Anyone getting it? I wonder once released what are the possible ways of testing FPS that we will be getting and comparison, sometimes I feel Fraps is not accurate

Games aren't the number one priority for everyone.
-
He didn't said it's the priority
But He is saying that having all that stuff doesn't replace the Internet as a mean of entertainment

Preloading this now so excite!!1

has anybody saw pictures that show vram usage?it uses 5.7gb with 8x msaa on 4K and 2.6b gb with normal/very high settings with 2x msaa reflection?it packs aa for reflection and normal aa.I think that 2gb should be enough than for max textures with fxaa or no aa on 1080p?here is the source but i saw on another site 5.7gb on 4k ultra(but with 8xmsaa)

2 hours and 33 minutes left for me. I can't wait to see how it performs on a GTX 980 at 1920 x 1080 with my i74790k at 4.0 Ghz. I would have been playing it on a GTX 980M but I'm starting to be really glad I moved over to mini itx now. I get the feeling that it won't be an unoptimized mess like GTA IV was and just imagine the mods people will release for this one. It's going to be an epic day. Has anyone seen this video yet?

Going to be giving it a go with the Titan X on the 17r2

Which other site ?

FRAPS does not consume any resources when measuring FPS. It's just a counter. It's not the best at optimizing resources when recording video though. MSI Afterburner is a great alternative, with lots of in-game overlay information, video recording (light resources), and best of all... it's FREE.
I do wish all games had some benchmark option that accurately represented parts of the game. But in GTA I would think just driving around a specific block a few times would give you an accurate enough measurement.
And yes, this should be merged with this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/gta-v-is-coming-to-the-pc-this-fall.754767/ -
I've preloaded it from Steam. Counting down the time until it's unlocked!!!!!
-
Someone noticed there is option to select Directx? Maybe after all it will support DirectX 12 and Mantle too.
-
Rockstar said they wanted older computers to be able to play it by lowering and customizing settings so it could be DirectX 9 but I'm hopeful they will support 12. Ive completed my download, I noticed it stores all of the files in the 'Depotcache' folder in Steamapps so I copied that over to my P170HM laptop and it also said preload complete. I am really curious how it will run on the GTX 680M.
I hope my 980 will allow me 60 fps at 1920 x 1080 with decent settings though. -
Pretty confident it will come close

Rockstar talk 4K, PC performance and more
Looks like after all a very well optimized game;
"To run the game on a 4K display at 30fps, you’ll need at minimum an AMD HD 7870 or NVidia GTX 760 with 2GB of VRAM." -
No mention of settings though which is kinda important.
-
Recommanded settings are for high 1080p60 according to R*
-
so that means an i7 4700MQ is up to the task as the average passmark score for the i5 3470 is 6561 and the average passmark score for the i7 4700MQ is 7824.
so i think the alienware can handle it.sasuke256 likes this. -
You guys play with controller or mouse keyboard on PC? This actually looks like a lot of fun. May be getting this one.
-
I almost always play with 360 controller, but don't mind the good old mouse and keyboard combo when I need to pull it out for a game like Wasteland 2
-
Any place you can get this on discount legit?

Dude, look at my specs. No bueno!
I will give "demo" a try though, who knows, it might run, but prolly sometime in summer, because I have no time for a game like GTA right now. For now I'm more interested in getting Pillars Of Eternity. -
I bet you can run it on your T100, Will take two hours to load though, lol.killkenny1 likes this.

Unless I turn off AutoCAD and Inventor, in which case it will only take about tri-fiddy to load GTA V. -
Is there a benefit to the Steam version?
-
Convenience mainly, and all downloading and patching is done thru Steam instead of the RSC app
-
you can get the non-steam version for about $30 USD if you know where to look.
-
That Rockstar installer sucks up a lot of CPU resources while downloading, 23-25%. Wonder what the heck it's doing while downloading. Sheesh.
-
Legally?
-
I'll PM to discuss further

Isn't that RSC crap mandatory?
I remember good ol' GTA IV days - Steam, RSC, GFWL. Yo dawg, you like launchers? -
Not the client, at least for previous R* games. Apparently it is mandatory now for GTA V, so getting it on Steam will be like Uplay games on Steam where you have to run both clients to play the game.
-
it'll unlock at 7pm on monday so by the time i get home from work it should work LOL
-
60GB of download... ick. Glad Comcast lifted their download limits. The R* service is so intermittent, it's up and down with download speeds. It'll go to 15MB/sec down to under 200KB/sec and then up to something in between. Plus I still am not sure why it uses so many system resources. It's not like it's 60GB packed into 10GB and it's decompressing on the fly.
Imagine if this were on 3.5" floppy discs, lol. It would be 60 stacks of these (42660 floppies):
Assuming maximum read speed of 500 kbps (yes kilo *bits* per second) would be about 23 seconds per floppy, with 7 seconds for swapping floppies, that would be about 30 seconds per floppy * 42660 = 2330 minutes = 38.83 hours. So one and a half days... Ah, the good ol days of floppies.Last edited: Apr 12, 2015TomJGX, triturbo and Mr Najsman like this. -
I haven't played a RS game since Max Payne3. Does the RS client automatically pop up when the game is launched like UPlay? Or do I have to download something like the Origin file. Luckily I wrote down my login info for Max Payne it should work with GTAV.

Please refrain from conversation about or links to ways to get the game that are illegal, including services that would require the use of a workaround to purchase and/or activate. Regardless of popular opinion, those are illegal.

So I'm glad I got the R* copy then. Still would need to launch it. Gotta love DRM and launchers. In any case I wasn't too excited about this before, but now I am the more I watch a few videos and read a few previews.

Let's just hope that's for 4k.
