it is for 4K, very high, 2X AA TXAA FXAA 4K and very high + Reflections AA![]()

From what it looks like, R* has been working on the PC version from day one, it is not a console port. If that's the case I'll likely buy it.

6.5 hours left...
Yeah, and my poor little 970m would choke at that even if it did have 6GB.
Yay!Last edited by a moderator: Apr 13, 2015 -
Dammit, I want to get it just to try it on my laptop... I am not sure I ever finished a GTA, specially on PC heh
-
Wouldn't even try running it at 4k without triple titan x's
-
Mine does... 4k here I come...
Just joking.. 4k monitor costs £350 (Dell P2415Q)... However when I get my new machine, I will get it
-
I have to watch Game of Thrones tonight too... so much stuff, so little time! My kids can fend for themselves for a few weeks I guess.
-
Can't even play the damn game. "connection to server lost" when downloading the final file (assuming the exe). Taking FOREVER!

it uses 4gb vram on max settings on 1080p.I just saw it on neogaf forum.Thats probably with msaa max, msaa for reflection, txaa and max view distance(at least i hope he enabled all aa techniques)
-
anyone got it running on 60FPS?
im only getting 30-35 -
Is that on your 980M?
-
what settings?
-
Everything high
Yes on my 980 240 psuLast edited by a moderator: Apr 14, 2015 -
Did you install the Game Ready driver?
-
Yup version 350 I did
-
probably just super demanding like I expected.
-
When I checked the settings,
That can't be right because I am getting from 40-80 fps in the benchmark on my GTX 980 and sometimes more. 40 was just momentary drops, the frame is usually 80+ fps. I have a mixture of High, Very high and population and other sliders on max.
What I noticed is that for some stupid reason the default graphical settings in game is Vsync enabled which locks the frame rate of course but to add insult to injury, it had upscaled the resolution to almost 4K which left the frame rate locked to 30 fps. Check your resolution in game and make sure DSR is not on and check Vsync. DSR upscales and then converts back to 1920 x 1080. I haven't installed the GTA V game ready Driver yet, will do that later.
I noticed about 120 fps indoors during the first scene where you are doing something questionable with an automatic weapon...
CPU showed about 80% on each Core and GPU showed about 70%.
Edit: I can see why Vsync was set on by default, it stutters a bit without it, I will test more later.
Edit: After the GTA V ready Nvidia Driver update, I am getting no more stuttering so can disable Vsync.Last edited: Apr 13, 2015Mr Najsman likes this. -
Noooo why mine from 20-35 on benchmark
what is DSR???Last edited by a moderator: Apr 14, 2015 -
im on the 17 and not using 4k
resolution is at 1920*1080 -
Is Vsync enabled?
-
Finally got the game working after going through the final 356MB update 5 times and failing. Just a heads up for those who are experiencing "Code 1" update issues Rockstar released a statement saying that certain special characters in your Windows Account Name may cause the update to fail.
A temporary workaround for the error is posted here (I had a hyphen in my name which may have explained the problems I kept having).Mr Najsman likes this. -
Vsync is disabled
-
i came across this but i had no hyphen so WTF? you only need to create the account just to complete the update install then you can go back to the main account and play.
-
I'm getting an average of 35 to 65fps with my 8970m at 1080p and very high settings.
Tho' I'm not running the latest driver. -
Benchmark is borked. It doesn't do anything. Keeps fading in and out, and goes to mission failed. No FPS or anything. At mostly high settings using only 2.3GB of vRAM at 1080p.
Getting a solid 60FPS with these settings on 970m.

Population density and vareity is off or max in your settings?
-
It's max.
New drivers installed, now getting solid 60fps on my 8970m. Gonna play with more settings now. -
Maximum. Going to try 720p low/medium on 650m and 840m.

it's definitely playable at 30fps if you choose to lock it there and bump up the graphics

GTA thinks I have 8000MB of vRAM.
I think it'll **** itself if I put two 980Ms in here. (it doesn't use more than about 3800 normally; counting windows in this)
I can't seem to adjust settings to get 60fps. I hover around 45-55; sometimes dropping into the low 30s. I had everything set to super mega ultra, but when I started turning down settings one by one, the fps difference was literally none. I was sitting in one spot looking at fps when testing this. I think maybe Shadows on "very high" is doing it. I even checked sharp, softest and nVidia PCSS and there was NO difference between them.
Either way, the game looks pretty good. Can't lie about that. KBM controls are not so great. I default to "walk" all the time and I can't figure out how to make the character "run" like normal GTA games do. Sprinting I just hold shift and it works. It's a bit annoying. Also driving is a pain on KBM. I think I might have to use the controller to drive, at the least. The handling is super sensitive using KB and the car has tendencies to either spin out or never be able to straighten itself on the road. Ironically when I use Franklin's special it handles perfectly, even at low speeds. It never overturns. Driving with Michael and the others is going to be a pain. Aiming is a bit of an issue too. It feels real slow and real fast at the same time. I don't know how I'm gonna fix that one. -
Tried your settings and im getting 40-60
Btw driving works super great for me comparing to GTA 4 i LOVE it
i agree aiming is a bit harder but not too bad, i guess because the crosshair is really smallLast edited by a moderator: Apr 14, 2015 -
I also think driving is a lot better and the slow motion ability is a great help and really useful.

Creating a new admin account because mine had an underscore. Thx Rockstar

you really only need it to download and install the update. you don't need to use the account to play. minor inconvenience at best.
-
hey do you still have the clevo with the 860m? could ya try running it on there?
-
Can't wait to try this out. I purchased this for the 360 when it came out, yet never ended up getting very far into it. Dark Souls is pissing me off right now, so this will be a welcome breath of fresh air.
-
Ok fellas. We got ourselves an ungimped release. Extremely consistent and stable frame rates. It runs as nicely as I had hoped...no hitches and good graphics options. The first console game in a long time that feels like it was made to run on a PC.

So at which settings run 30+ FPS on 840m?
-
Anyone try it with a 970M yet?
-
I'll try it with the 860M so...
-
Literally have everything on ultra and pretty much a solid 60fps with ocassional dips. Titan x
