Many people expressed interest in the laptop overview list I posted on page 68 of this thread.

It is now far more extensive and made into a new thread at
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/what-notebook-should-i-buy/762593-comprehensive-overview-present-upcoming-gaming-laptops.html#post9791053

I will no longer be updating the version on this thread or posting anything more related to it on this thread. It may be a useful resource for people on this thread however as I will be attempting to keep it updated on Maxwell info, and benchmarks, as well as notebooks coming out with Maxwell GPUs.

If you are planning to get 9xxm laptops and do an extensive reviews, or such feel free to put a placeholder post on the first page of it to link your reviews

Wow it's only going to be ~1999 US for the 980, on an Asus G751 at that? That's about $500 less than I expected... I hope that's right. And with a 256 SSD on top of that..

Seems too good to be true.

Its about same price for current g750. You can drop the price down by lowering the ram but Asus only takes off like $40 because they are jerks so might as well keep the ram. Not a bad price for what it has though.

But not worth it as many have talked about excessive need of vram... sigh. Gotta weigh the pros and cons. Best cooling in the business but soldered cpu and 4gb vram? Sorry Asus.

    Current g750 with exact same specs except 880m: $2500 @ http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g750jzds71-p-6979.html?wconfigure=yes

Again when looking at a price in France in Euro expect to pay the same price but in USD in US or in GBP in UK. so 1499E => 1499 $ end october in USA

I'd go to $2000 US to get what I want. But I'd like to stay around $1700. Thankfully I have a Samsung 840 Pro 256 I have here sitting here waiting so I can cut that cost out of it.

No idea, but it might be inline with that 870m is charging for. Usually prices shift as new gens approach, so current 880m laptops might be similarly priced to 980m etc etc.

I hope we get some devices available soon!

I think that we have reason to believe that 970m will be in same price level as 870m used to be, although my guess is that previous genetation will be discounted after release of 9xx, since naturally they would wana get rid of stock

HAHAHAHA... no seriously, always take our UK prices and subtract -30-50%, because we are always royally screwed by pricing in tech, gaming or otherwise. We are the goldmines of tech companies, always desperate to need US tech but, for unreasonable reasons, we are expected to accept the inflated practices of them them... always. It's frankly ridiculous, the absolute unilateral bias towards the US (hey, American bros, I'm not intending to offend you in anyway; please remember I am trying to get equivalent pricing for every region in the world). I wish all us developed nations could be treated similarly. F**k this nation sh*t, one world, one reason. I wish we gamers were strong enough to enact on our beliefs...

We should all get the gaming community into one single unit, the one true gaming scheme; we are a f***ing global nation, get used to it, m**********s!

I just cant do it, the design is so vague, and the keyboard is just ugh. I've been spoiled on my desktop mechanical too long...

GS70, GT70 Dragon Edition, or G751 are my main targets right now.

Whoa. Slow down. Let's not get into politics. There is an obvious reason why everything is cheaper in the US. You guys still have a King and Queen also, and you have to pay them money but you have a parliment? But lets stop right there and say prices just suck to begin with for laptops. I am buying a laptop to last for several years and hoping the next time I buy one they will be significantly cheaper because of mass production and Moore's Law.
Not sure what laptop you are referring to but if all you are going to do is look at it then get a gold plated xbox. Around $13K and not anywhere close to the performance you are paying for it but its not vague and it doesn't make you grunt.

I just tried to configure the XMG P504 with an 870M and an i7 4710HQ + 8GB Ram and 1 TB HDD and Killer WLAN.
Makes in total 1410€, and the MSI GS70 is cheaper.
What do you think is more worth if we consider both get the 970M?
    Is the XMG Cooler better?
    What about throtteling?

Just look up a review and they will have benchmarks on temps and everything for w/e particular model. Just get the cheapest model with the best specs or whatever you are into. Maybe you like keyboards or something idk. Why not just wait till next week for 970m?
Well you aren't looking at the keyboard while gaming or typing unless you cannot type fast. My only concern with keyboard would be flex which seems to be present on a lot of gaming laptops to a degree.

    Thats a contradiction ;)

No point of spending such amount of money for notebook without ssd - in "outside game enviroment" its ssd what makes your machine super fast (faster boot/instalations/copying files etc). And if you are a gamer then you will definately notice faaar shorter loading screen times :)

To sum up- dont do it to urself, buy an ssd! :)

You just said you wanted best price for best performance. Now you want certain design with certain edges, corners, miscellaneous engineering, etc. If the MSI model is cheaper and you like it then get it.
