I like this game, but I don't understand it lol. I am having fun, but I don't know where I am or what I'm doing relative to the game as a whole. Looking forward to playing some PVP. I like the comics.

They need to adjust the mobs in AC. No CC means you all target the one mob, and the others take you down and you can't drop agro as you aren't shooting at them in the first place. It is do-able, but I can't get a group that will stay the course, they always drop out.
**edit. I lucked out and did the run with a pro guild they were doing bonus events in there aside from just completing it. -
Is there a centralized server that everyone (or most) from NBR are playing on? A guild too perhaps?

Stormbluff Isles for the US NBR guild

Im curious as to what kind of frames you are all seeing in this game
With my 8180 with 6990m is crossfire, i7, and 8gbs of ram if i put it on best visual settings i tend to get ~30 fps. Even maxxing setting but turning AA off i only see about 30 fps which seems absurdly low for a game like this -
Yes it is low i am getting 50 fps average with the 7970m and ivy i7. (i am using native resolution of 1080p and best appearance with v sync on)
-
-Runs around in Ehmry Bay-
._. -
why would my numbers be low? i have the latest drivers running so idk where the problem may be, res is also 1080p
-
I ran 3d mark out of curiosity to see if maybe my machine had an issue somewhere, but it doesnt seem like it the scores were:
Overall: 21798
Graphics: 22951
CPU: 18942
so im not sure why my FPS is so low, any ideas? -
GW2 doesnt have very good CF support. new drivers will improve it
-
anyone have a nice level 30 shortbow for sale?
-
put all your settings on lowest and then slowly turn them up to see what is killing your performance... if its GPU/driver related idk
also is it me or do decent mid level systems (540m, 640m 650m etc) seem to run GW2 better then the high end uber GPUs? -
ratchetnclank Notebook Deity
On my 9600mGT which is a 5 year old GPU im getting 25 FPS with everything except shaders and shadows maxed at 1080p obviously AA is off.
-
That's a surprise, good old card.
-
What. I'm getting 25FPS with medium settings at 1366x768.

Currently level 22 and in a bit of a grinding stage. I managed to go through the first twenty levels fairly fluidly, but it seems like there is a gap in storyline/dynamic events to keep this momentum going. Where are you guys hanging out at in this level range?
-
Yeah, I had the same thing. My storyline quests have been requiring me to be a far higher level than I am. For example, level 34 story line while I am only level 28. So, to solve this problem, I started to explore other areas (100% completing them), PvPing, and WvWvWing.

Is it possible to play PVE with someone in another server? I have been reading conflicting reports. If so, how?

It's got a 100Mhz overclock on core and Memory.
Tbh my CPU is the weakest link, it's maxxed at 100% by GW2. -
As far as I can tell, all races have a 15-25 zone.
For Charr, its Diesa Plains
For Norn, its Snowden Drifts
(doesn't matter which one you do or if you do both, or all)
If you go to a map, you can see what levels the zone is listed for.
No idea what you mean by "grind" as you don't grind anything.
You just complete the zones by exploring, doing heart area quests, group quests, and gathering/tradeskills.
I was surprised at how much XP you can get doing gathering and tradeskills...
Also, for faster XP, do NOT keep killing the same things/area. The game has daily quests which reward a large portion of XP for doing different things. (including gathering, killing different mob types, doing X number of group area quests etc.)
Every so often the storyline quest is 1 or 2 levels higher than me and I just complete more of the zone... If you find yourself behind the curve in levels, go complete one of the other races' similarly-levelled zone. -
i like all the low levels, and how your player get's nerfed when you enter them. I did a few hearts while finding the waypoints and vistas in several lower areas.
-
Still though, the 6770 should be crushing the 9600, no? I'll have to play with it later.
-
Also note, you can help friends and actually gain xp doing areas lower level than you. (unlike most MMOs)
The xp gained is not significant for just the basic stuff, but still counts towards dailies and the heart quests and area quests aren't bad at all.
Properly-levelled zones help the most, but the fact you can get some real credit for doing newbie areas (especially that you havent done before) is very nice. -
Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
I want to note that dailies only occurs once for only one character per day. Meaning only one character can receive the end reward per day so pick wisely. Also the reward XP for dailies is 3% of the total XP needed for your current level to advance to the next on the level you got the daily from.

Maybe ATI's drivers are badly optimized for GW2? -
I could have sworn the "do 15 group events" daily was more than a full bubble (5%) even at 30+.
Even if it is 3% (for example, somehow I earned two daily rewards at once) the dailies add up fairly quickly and are rewarded for doing a variety of things. It isn't difficult at all to play a couple hours and get a couple levels.
IMHO the setups for the dailies are similar to the "rested bonus" or "fresh kills" of other games that are designed to balanced out casual and hardcore players. The game intentionally gives diminishing returns for players who put in more than 3-4 hours a day. Since the game does not focus on just killing everything you see, this method seems to make sense. -
Maybe I need to update my drivers. It's been a couple months.
-
I did most of the lands for my level, those that I was able to find anyways. Bloodtide Coast and the some of the 55+ land attached to that, I'm level 53, and had been doing 55-56 hearts, and grabbed some karma gear I might use in a few levels from doing them. I also need to gain a few levels to try the next story line quest again as I got smoked. I also need mats as the AH isn't open. i don't wish to just farm, but doing lower level stuff i hadn't done is fine. I kill everything in site, gather everything within reasonable distance, do all hearts, challenges, vistas and waypoints. Much more entertaining than farming the same mobs over and over.
AH is open!!! -
I guess that's where I'm going wrong. I'm hanging around in a particular zone and just killing random spawns, no gathering/trade skills.

I've been doing a lot of crafting materials farming, made a right killing in the auction house from copper ore. Just sold over 100 of them for 25 bronze each

hi All,
does anyone know what are all the commands you could use... especially for emotes.
Update:
I was being lazy enough to google. Its here
Emote - Guild Wars 2 Wiki (GW2W)

I think I'm getting the hang of this stuff now. I love playing a staff elementalist and the exploration aspect of the game, trying to complete all the vistas and POIs, is fun. I spent an hour last night just completing Lion's Arch (which is cool as heck, btw).
-
I bought this game but it runs like crap on my MBA bootcamp win7.
Can't wait till I can run it on a better gpu. Anyone playing an engineer?
-
i made an engineer to try it out. he's about lvl 6 now, and it's actually pretty cool. i prefer the rifle skillset compared to the dual pistols.
@liquid: thanks for the link. +rep'd -
You could also kick over to the starting zones for the other races and do their stuff too.
-
Yeah that's a good idea. I need to spend some time looking through this game's Wikia because apparently I am not playing the game correctly.
-
Yestersday I created a Human(female) Thief.. and I'm enjoying the playstyle.. the skill are amazing when with 2 daggers .... i love this one skill where the thief jump over the target and inflicts damage .. its awesome ...
-
my buddy has a dual dagger thief and he says it's pretty sick. also heard that dual dagger elementalists were really strong too, but i haven't gotten to try that out yet.
-
What server are a couple of you running on? I get my m17x r4 next Friday so I'll need some people to play with =).
-
I play on Aurora Glade (EU).
-
I think most of the US folks are on Stormbluff Isles and the EU people are on Aurora Glade.
-
i think i'm on Tarnished Coast (US).
-
If i solo or am in a small party (2-3 max), i tend to go dual daggers or dagger/scepter. When i was doing dungeons with my sis and the in-laws i was playing either scepter/dagger or staff, same for events since AoE does come in handy.

Does anyone know how to send a certain amount of an item through the mail? I can't figure it out, whenever I need to send some crafting material I have to send all of them and then they send back whatever they don't use.
-
Take them from your materials storage and put them in your inventory while holding Alt, that will allow you to split stacks.
EDIT: also works from within inventory, last time i tried to split when writing a mail, it didn't work, but could be fixed now. -
Stop calling people "WoW-ites" or "huntards". It's ignorant and only makes you a part of the problem. WoW is/was a good game in it's own right and it's reached the end of it's dev cycle. There's nothing wrong with playing WoW or having played WoW in the past.
-
When the early access first opened, I made an Asura thief named Rickrogue. The portal wasn't working, so rather than sitting around, I made a Ranger, Rick Rogue. I figured I'd go back to the thief, but am almost level 60 on the ranger, and the rogue is level2 still. Good to know dual wielding is cool in this game, it is one of my favorite roles to play. My only ban was because I was using shadowstep to go through walls in one MMO during PvP. lol

I'm around level 58 now and i find that i'm leveling faster compared to the levels of the areas i'm exploring thanks to crafting. I got my jeweler level almost to level 250 and it's steadily rising, i'm leveling it faster than i can discover new recipes now. On the bright side, i can craft items of my level. I can't say the same for my tailor rank, but now that the trading post seems to be up i'll be able to change that. If any guild members have the materials and are in need of jewelry i can sort it out (i'm kinda running out of materials myself because i'm using it to learn how to make new items).
