Guild Wars 2

I'm sure they won't be overwhelmingly powerful, and I don't think there will be any really over powered weapons in this type of an MMO, but at least you won't have to wait for any to drop/buy them from merchants or w/e you do in GW 2. They'll be waiting for you when you first log in.

 

First off, you have to have eye of the north to get anything, but it also gives you 3 reward points off the bat. Finish the prophecies campaign, that's 2 more points, tame any pet for 1 point, get 1 minipet for 1 point. There's 7 points with just a small amount of effort.

Everything after that will take a bit of time, but it's still relatively easy to get 15 points, after that it gets time consuming/expensive.

 

Oh wow a bunch more people interested in the NBR guild since i went to bed last night so...i guess should i get a steam account?

 

Minipet? I think I have one! I remember getting like a little dinosaur thing after a year or something. Are the rewards binded to the account? or to a character?

Once you dedicate them in the hall of monuments they'll say "this pet has been dedicated" or something like that. That way you can't dedicate it and then trade it to someone else and have them dedicate it, but they are still trade-able.

The rewards are account based, not per character. Yes the weapons will level with you, what i meant was that there won't be anything giving you an advantage over other players, only more skins for weapons.

Ok I can't buy the expansions just yet, so should I just play like 1 profession before choosing another or what? I think im going to play something/Dervish Are there any characters like rogues or thieves? someone help me

 

You don't need to have everything on one character, my 50 points are spread across 10 characters...

I wouldn't mind starting with you, provided that our time zones match somewhat (US Eastern here). As for skype or mumble, be preprepared to hear my nice accent (french canadian here ) and i haven't spoken in english for a long time. I do understand it quite well though but my spoken english is a bit rusty.

Yep, minis count for 8 reward points and is one of the hardest to max out due to the high mini requirement.

I'll be able to play during the evenings mostly (GMT -5), i have to be at uni for my masters during most of the day. I can leave early some days though.

Guild Wars 2 will be release this year not 2012, Arena net have came out in Pax East and said that it will be RELEASE this year, so no but, no nut, and no dam cononut, it will be RELEASE this year!!!!! FOLK!!!

heh, added you too. I was able to grind out enough plat to get an oppressor weapon and 5 more hero armors, but I've hit a wall at 24. Anything else is just way out of my price/time range for the next day.

 

TOR is not even any competition for Guild Wars 2. Guild Wars 2 is miles better than TOR in all aspect. If TOR wasn't cartoonish and look like KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2 instead of Attack of the Clone cartoon, then Yes TOR would give GW2 a run for it money, only die hard SW fan will play TOR over GW2. And most of those prefer Sci Fi over Fantasy as well.

PAX East was in March? Wouldn't you have known this before? Where did you find this out? I'm belated if you're telling the truth because beta will probably be in September if release is in 2011, but if this is a joke then

Considering it's GW1 we're talking about, even the intel IGP on a core i will do just fine . You might not be able to crank everything up at 1080p but it won't be at the lowest setting possible either. Heck the arrandale IGP should max it out at 720p.

 

We are talking GMA 965 aka X3100. If MineCraft lags, everything else will.

 

I ran GW1 at 1024x768 on a GMA 900 at minimum and still achieved close to 30fps . Nightfall and Eye of the North would probably lagg, but the first game should do fine at low res and minimum. It will look incredibly fugly though. What relic do you have to be running on a X3100?

 

In 2006 I was able to run GW on a 7800m GO. I think whatever you've got should work.

 

In any case, there's nothing to loose by trying. The best part is that you can carry your Gw.dat folder from one computer to another (works for xp and 7 at least) which means you won't have to download the game all over again.

Bah i have to find something to buy on steam so i can use the friends list and steam groups....how silly. Never have used steam before to get games.

 

Just download Team Fortress 2. It is now a Free to Play game.
