sorry guys, i was watching tv with my wife so was not online. i am online on 0:00 dutch time ready to do a game of guildwars and talk about the guild to make is grow maybe not in size but in body (site, forum, chat box, guildhall) i am really interested in what people want and don't want i have a lot of ideas i want to share

We won't be actually forming a guild in the current game. We are going to do all that for the upcoming game. There isn't a strong community right now in the current game, so we are only doing some small group plays on our own time (which you may join of course!) However, the actual guild is going to be created once ArenaNet announces the Beta Phase for the upcoming game.

 

Thats totaly my goal to mate,

the question is ofc don't we want to have like a site already and a structure so we are an accessible guild with a clear view and a social feeling around it ? that is something we need to think/fantasize about now. (my opinion ofc). our focus must an will be guildwars 2 but if i see this tread there are a lot of people wanting a community feeling. do you dig what i am saying? or whats your view on this ( you are the boss ;-) )

 

Possible Spoiler: Final Profession Info (Good Chance)

Note: I'm not sure if this is a surprise to anyone anymore based on how much we are all interested in this game, but we're 99% certain the final profession is a Mesmer.

Reasoning:
1. Arenanet has stated that the profession will be a returning profession from GW1, that it will carry over the same name as the GW1 profession, it will be a "scholar" based profession (caster), the Monk isn't returning (we know that for sure, it's now the Guardian), Necromancer and Elementalist have also both come back already, Ritualist/Paragon/Dervish have all been reincorporated into already announced professions.

2. It's they're signature class that everyone feels is unique to Guild Wars itself.

3. Look at the resemblance between this picture and the GW2 Professions silhouette.

I think that basically sums it up, I don't know it's kinda blaring me in the face as to what it is now that I think about it, and I'm happy, because Mesmer was my favorite in GW1, it was unique, fun, and challenging.

 

Haha yup! That's what everyone was saying! Mesmer is like the original GW class. People are going to be angry if it is not Mesmer or Mesmerlike because it's so Guild Warsy xD.

 

Yea thats the rumor for a long time now and i think you are right, a shame that in guildwars 1 i am not getting the mesmer feeling i just dont get the class. But that is just me i think

 

Well need a name and all that first and I want see if the guild membership stabilizes in the next few weeks. If so and we got the basis down on how this guild is going to work, then we should start a spin-off forum and site just for the guild and start it up until the Beta announced.

For now, we should utilize the Steam group to set the basis and once we feel like the guild is strong enough to hold and be prepared for release on the Beta, then we should go to the next level with the site/forum.

Ill hope i can help u put the basic things together to make this work and make the feeling a good feeling the new guild will give to all people that join. do you have an idea about what u want to focus on with the guild ( social, group activity, you name it ?)

We would love the use the name "Notebook Review" as our guild name, but here's the one simple reason why we cannot.
Not everyone is going to be from our forum! Our intentions are to base it off of the NBR group and create a guild that is fun and exciting for all computer fanatics! With that said, we shouldn't use the name "Notebook Review".

Uh, open beta hasn't been announced yet, nor has a release date. If there was a beta at this point, i think we would all be nolifing on it xD

I seriously hope not, that one of the most lamest class in any mmorpg. Now that I think about it more, GW1 did suck, pretty overated too. fortunately GW2 will blow the lid off GW1.


No offense but all these name blow! Name is very important to me, and I doubt I can take a group seriously if the name is something like Nice Babe Ranger, you get my point.

 

Lots of people will disagree with you saying GW1 sucks. You do know the Guild's most noticeable members are all GW1 Vets right? Many hours were logged into GW1 dude!

Wow, this thread certainly gained quite a bit of attention over the past few days.

On the topic of the HoM, it's definitely possible for a new player to rack up quite a number of HoM points in a reasonable amount of time. As for me, I managed to start from scratch to 30 HoM points in just 1 month, and I managed to acquire 45 HoM points in 2.5 months.

I did it all alone from scratch without any assistance from anyone at all. Might pale in comparison to people with 50/50 and GWAMM, but I'm pretty proud of my 'Legends of the Mists' title.

 

Heh if u want you can buy something for 99 cents off of steam to have chat and freindslist activated. thats what i did. Its cheaper then renting a movie at redbox! The one i bought was fortix

If you don't like the mesmer don't play them, a lot of people enjoy the mesmer though, and will be pretty dissapointed if they aren't in Guild Wars 2, I never played them and I would still be dissapointed if they aren't in Guild Wars 2. They are like the Guild Wars original class.

Also, What are you talking about? Guild Wars 1 was amazing.

 

The only people who did not like Mesmers were the ones who got rocked by them in PvP or CM

What are these HoM points good for?

Just status or will it translate into a big deal for GW2?

As for my character I am going ranged DPS, may be ranger or may be elementalist. Not sure yet.

 

For the first 30 Points, you get to have special items in the beginning of the game as well as a title. Over 30, you just keep ranking up the said title but no more special items.

 

Ahh its EoTN only anyways and I do not have that. I just have the original guild wars and I cant even find my disk lol.
