Yeah you can download the game anywhere unlimited times as long as you remember the email password and one of your characters names from the account. And on a fresh install, don't forget to make a second copy of the shortcut and replace (if there is already) or add -image to the end of the target line and let it run over night or whenever you aren't using the game, then you can delete the copy of the icon once its done.
Ex: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

It lets you download every file at once instead of each map individually.

 

Yeah, basically after the first time (except for when there are updates or events) you will never have to load new files when you zone.

Yup, right click on the Guild Wars shortcut in steam and select properties. From there you'll be able to add -image. You should know that once it reaches 100% completion, -image will close the client so you need to remove the command once everything has been downloaded. worth it if you ask me, you'll load every map in seconds even if you haven't been there. You can make a backup of the Gw.dat file afterwards so you won't have to download everything again in case you reinstall windows.

 

I sunk so much time into Guild Wars last summer, i cant wait for Guild Wars 2. It looks awesome from the game play that i have seen so far.

We've got a steam group and almost have a name.

 

I actually might be interested in playing this due to how great I heard Guild Wars' PvP system was. I assume that they haven't released the Beta yet. I'm trying a trial account to see how decent the gameplay is for the original. I don't think it will be a good indication of how the sequel will turn out since it is a new game entirely. Though I'm still bent out of shape after playing wow since vanilla and getting raped by the Lich King expansion. I probably only have limited time due to college so I hope that GW2 turns out to be a bit more casual then the 5 days a week raiding that I was used to.

 

Raids probably take more time then guild events such as dungeons or WvWvW PvP.

We're getting PvP gameplay during Gamescom (August 17thish)

Basically I think we're going for a guild where people can just play with each other. If we're going to do something hardcore, we'll probably plan for it. I would love a good sized group filled with active players who can do dungeons whenever we want or try out some PvP or WvWvW.

Haven't confirmed that you are getting the game close to release and playing with us. At the time of the last edit you weren't on my friends list yet and I wasn't able to contact you. Pretty much closest thing I can do to reassure the group that we have members that are keeping their word (of joining and playing with us when the game releases :0).

The date has not be dropped yet, hopefully maybe we know release date after PAX or release date of a beta? Possible they are doing closed private beta right now, which would determine date of release of beta or the actual game.

Nope or otherwise I would already set a pre-order. I might go to my local GameStop and ask around again to make sure I haven't missed it.

 

Yeah I might do that with my local EB Games. Sometimes they may have it 'in the system' you can do a very rough pre-order.

This one sounds like it'll sellout everywhere!!!

At any rate NBR cant be renamed its already the name of the forum Note Book Review. If you create a NBR clan/group its still NBR it does not get a new name.

 

NBR is our tag. Next to your name it would say [NBR], but the name of the guild would be like like Not Building Restooms.

You have to realize that not everyone in GW2 is a NBR member, and we need member growth. The reason we're calling it the NBR Guild Wars 2 Guild because we're basing it off of the forum. It's for people on the forum who want to play with a guild but don't know people to play with, and it's for us so we can all have fun and do dungeons and stuff together. If we use Note Book Review as our name, it will make people think, "you have to use notebook to be in guild or something." and we want people not just NBR people

 

Unless the acronym NBR is trademarked to NoteBook Review & TechTarget, we can use the acronym for the guild with a different abbreviation. I doubt NBR as an acronym is trademarked.

 

How are we ever going to decide on a name lol! Ive seen many good suggestions that i would be happy with.

On another note W00t finally got myself a new job. now i can safely spend my savings on an awesome new Laptop and not worry about not having anymore money coming in. I just hope my job wont interfere too much with future GUild wars 2 playing

No definitely not! Limiting the choice to 2 out of many is not correct. We should make a poll, where when we all have enough suggestions we vote on it and take the name with the most votes! That is the best i could come up with...

Was gonna give an opinion on the guild name. I'm not sure if I wanna play the game as of now but I'll throw in a suggestion for the name anyways.

I've been a bit out of touch with many games over the last few years. Saw this thread and decided to check it out. Generally all the mmo's I would like to play was pay to play so I stayed clear. I just checked out the video's and found out this is NOT pay to play?!

did they release estimated requirements for GW2 yet? Think I could run it on my m11x?

 

Well... I don't think you will be able to max it out, but you should be able to get a smooth experience with most details on high.

EDIT: Actually, I think you could max it out on a lower resolution... 1440 x 900? even 1600 x 900 I think.

 

that's good to hear. I'm thinking about getting a nice desktop when I get back, but I want something that can play it while I'm on the road.

Edit: I don't really think I'll be able to max it out, I mean the game looks gorgeous, so it should have decent requirements.

 

I think I've heard they want to have low system requirements so people with older rigs could still play it, but have it scale pretty well with better/newer machines so with everything maxed it looks great, but still be playable on lower end machines.

I'm interested in seeing what everyone wants to play when the game releases, I for one am super excited to play an asuran Necro Tank. was reading a good interview where it was discussed and it sounded really fun.
