They must've left GPU physics on.

Hmmm... are any Kepler mobile GPUs coming out before mobile Ivy Bridge CPUs release? Because June is a rather long wait for Ivy Bridge mobile processors to come out.
-
Some Mobile Ivy Bridge processors will be out before/by May FOR SURE, Some Kepler's as well.
-
What I'm really hoping for is Kepler cards on a Sandy Bridge processor, since I care more for GPU power rather than CPU power xP -
I sure hope the mobile keplers won't be super pricy... I cancelled my order for a laptop with a 7690m XT a few days ago to wait for one with a GTX 660M/GT 660M since I'd hate to buy a new laptop during a transitional time (between Sandy and Ivy, 40nm GPUs and 28nm ones) and regretting it in the end

woot! time to plan my desktop build. hellooooooo SLI-680's

Bring out the 4k displays already!

^^ Omg, I Want 680m Already!!!

Both companies only see $$$ in their eyes and our pockets.
Kevin, maybe you have right that GTX 660M get the same amount of SP what GT 640M/650M.Attached Files:

Amazing :O 680m is going to be a beast of a mobile GPU................
-
I think they're all the same card lol, just different stock clocks. -
-
u had me at 690...
the info is much appreciated. i haven't really owned a desktop in about 15 years lol. i'm not really counting the 6-7 year old Dell i have hooked up to my plasma. it's just for torrents. i've been out of the desktop loop for so long, i'm gonna have to do a bit of researching. i'm aiming for something that can support triple monitors and run my games at the max settings. the new generation of CPU's are just plain phenomenal so i can go all out on graphics, and just pick up a nice CPU. i can always upgrade that later, but i doubt it'll ever be a bottleneck. even my current i7-840QM has been good enough for me. -
Saw it, but still don't believe it
-
Good news people: I can take a GT 650M and OC to GTX 660M speeds!!!
!@#$%^&*()!!!
That's not very good actually -
aye! aside from the 500Mhz memory clock different. What else?
-
NVIDIA states that GPU turbo will remain active even when overclocking.
Let's say when we OC Kepler based GPU to near its limit, if we can't disable that turbo, crash! -
-
gt 640m ~= gt 650m == gt(x?) 660m doesn't make any sense, really..

First GTX 680 review:
For those mentioning the GTX 680, here's some additional info.

Bad news: "NVIDIA 直言 GPU Boost 並不能手動關閉"
No manual switch to turn off GPU Boost. GPU Boost is controlled by hardware circuits and BIOS. -
When are those 650m coming? Lets say in europe, or at least 640m no matter if their with sandy bridge or ivy bridge notebooks
-
GT 640M and GT 650M already out in APAC region. Samsung sells the SB Q470 with GT 650M in China and Japan while Acer sells the SB M3 with GT640M and preorder for the V3 with IB and GT 640M.
No idea for Europe, though you will definitely see them launch in April. -
Thank for quick reply, i am in need of notebook, was lookin for n45sf with gt555m but it seems that i should wait
-
-
Look at this overclocked GT650M. I think the spikes you see is him doing something intensive with the GPU and it upclocked itself to 700MHz and the shaders up to 1400MHz which was the speeds he have overclocked to with the program. But it downclocked itself down to 400MHz/810MHz when he took the screenshots of the desktop while the overclocking was still active.

A bit off-topic post, but since there's a lot of talk about Kepler chips and GTX 680. If these early reviews are legit I'm quite impressed with the performance nvidia managed to squeeze in a relatively small chip with a 256bits memory bus.
Yet I think the situation in the lower and upper mid-range will be interesting. On the one hand we have Pitcairn. It's small (215mm² iirc, so smaller than Barts), probably cheap to manufacture, and yet it seems to be an incredibly balanced chip.
On the other hand we have Nvidia's GK 106. Since it's little brother, GK107, has a CC count 1/4 of the GK 104, I believed it should stand at 1/2 as S|A and early rumors put it. So we have a small (rumored at 155mm²) and fast chip, yet too severely stripped to compete with Pitcairn, standing in between Cape Verde (Radeon 7750/7770) and Pitcairn (7850/7870).
So I believe the situation will be akin to this : nvidia trusting the lower mid-range with GK 106, AMD trusting the upper mid-range with Pitcairn.
I'm not saying there won't be any competition ; for example obviously Nvidia can make stripped versions of the GK 104 parts to compete with Pitcairn, but because they will be salvaged parts of a considerably bigger chip AMD will have an edge. Same holds true for this hypothetical GK 106 against further stripped versions of Pitcairn.
In the mobile sector if GK 106 indeed features 768CC I believe it would be a perfect candidate for the mainstream gamer segment, while on AMD's side Cape Verde will be too little and Pitcairn might be too much (reserved for 7970/7990M). So if my forecasts are correct I believe both sides will have an edge of their own in different markets. Hopefully it doesn't mean niche segments in the mobile sector and doesn't harm us consumers... -
What mobile GPUs do you think will be using the GK106?
-
The GTX 660M would be a good candidate, but according to what we've seen so far unfortunately it's quite possible that we won't have any mobile GK106 until nvidia releases the Geforce 700 series (which may not be too far in the future)
-
-
According to this ancient roadmap the GK106 is what is taking over for the GTX 560 and GTX 560 Ti. But its 256 bit which excludes GTX 660M
Anyhow I think I will take a break from this discussion until we see more benchmarks and more definitive information.
Reading this thread makes the wait a whole lot worse -

haha

Your posted tinypic went missing btw.

Rep +1 for motivation! -
Oh.
Thankfully I have them all stored in my computer
@Prema: haha yes. Probably back tomorrow. Oh wait, I`m still here now
Anyhow, POOF. All 100% gone now. -
only about 5 days to go DDDDD:

Now... for something to kill time... and with some motivation from Prema...
GUESS: the date Nvidia will release the new highend mobile cards for purchase! One date per person
Highend refers to GTX 660M, GTX 670/675M. -
