The MSI cards are compatible with CLEVO??
edit: I just saw the CLEVO version here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALIENWARE-M...999?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item19dd2b60ef
it's FC04 chips which mean no good OC?? -
That paste job looks like a bird took a dump on your card, no offense.

But man, i am on the fence as well, my 675M will be underpowered when the new games this years are coming out,i am seriously thinking about the 780M.
But then again. it depends on how Clevo/Sager going to treat customer, either they will make it available to my NP9170/P170EM or not.
Because there is no guarantee that there will be a compatible heatsink and also Official vBIOS...
I will wait... -

Anandtech will post GTX 780M review on Monday.
Just to let people know -
Nice laptop. Looks like MSI did the right thing including the faster vRAM. Cooling temps were pretty incredible too. Looking forward to an in depth review of the unit.

Vantage is a worthless benchmark anyhow at this point. Too much influence by CPU.
-
Edit: Found two myself. They dont mention gpu under Upgrade possibilities and they only measure temperature on the outside, not the gpu. -
I'm sad, I see no 120Hz screen option for the new models. I reallllly wanted that screen.
-
I think Asus G750 will have that.
Maybe Alienware too -
As I brought it up I will post Sweclockers argument. They dont comment the upgrade possibilities for gpus in laptops since the majority of their community are desktop users and of the laptop users only a minority are interested of upgrading. (And we are probably all on NBR).
They also think some programs show the wrong temperature for gpu and cpu, especially in laptops. Any thoughts on that? -
There is no indication of GPU temperatures or power draw either, and no comparison to 680m or 580m which is what most users want to see. Not to mention no testing or comment about the "battery boost" feature. -

That is a sick specification Meaker!! Make us all jealous why don't you

If yes it's an interesting idea for my next lapy....
edit:i'm tired with CLEVO(compatible problems!!) -
$1000 CPU Meaker, you`re crazy
@kolias: Its a GT60 barebone if I`m not mistaken. You don`t have the MSI logo on the lid or have multi colour keyboard. Only blue light. And the keys for the touchpad is slightly different than the MSI model. -
Any pics of this new barebones model?
Don't care of multi colored backlit keys as long as it's backlit, the one thing I don't like about the new MS GT60 is the very shiny single click bar on the touchpad. It's minor but thought they could at least have seperate left and right click pads.
Any idea when it's out ?
@ Meaker those specs are simply awesome. -

Welp, my buyer pulled out for my old system so I am going to have to drop the CPU to a 4800MQ.

@Meaker:I`m sure that will suffice with a single GPU system. Haswell gained about 8-10% from Ivy so you have a little more juice than last time -
I have a 485m and it plays 99 percent of all games 1080p and high settings. why are you guys so excited about the 780m? does ultra really look that much better, enough to justify spending 2000. granted im assuming your not all rich as some seem to be.
-
With an MX CPU & 780M (Meaker OC/OV Edition) you would require a bit more than a 240W PSU.

The 15'6 is the GT60 2 OD & the 17'3 is the GT70 2 OD right?

Now I just have figure out how to overclock the 4800mq -
is there any way the 4700mq can be oc?

I think you came into the wrong thread trying to talk about why people are excited about new technology and computers coming out. After all, this is a gaming enthusiast forum. Haswell+780m is definitely something to be excited about. The 485m you got two years ago (I read your other thread) was NOT cheap and was ridiculously expensive at the time. So your notebook is long in the tooth and you post a thread asking advice from the very enthusiasts you are somewhat talking down to as if we shouldn't be bothered by visual fidelity differences between high and Ultra? You said 720p is fine in your thread. Great. So technology is not that big of deal for you. I see differences between High and Ultra. I definitely see a difference between 720p and 1080p. I definitely like the bleeding edge of technology and I am more than willing to pay for it. My sig has my specs and while I could wait until Maxwell, I don't have a "wait" mentality as it's about enjoying the games now and buying the best you can afford....as you clearly did 2 years ago with your 485m purchase. -
-
Technology moves... fast, and unfortunately so do prices. But if you want to game you gotta pay. Paying $2000 for a laptop with top end video card at the start of its cycle should garner you a solid 3 years gaming. Personally I almost never opt for Ultra settings even if my machine can handle it because it just doesn't make that much of a difference, and I'd rather be running at 50-70FPS than 40-50FPS.

The new GT70 doesn't support XTU and BIOS overclocking?
