Wasn't able to connect to the multiplayer servers last night. Hope they get them back up soon. They probably didn't anticipate this much player emphasis on the multiplayer for what's historically been a single-player game.

Are you sure about the MP not impacting SP?

From what I've read I think that the more missions you complete in MP the more ready the galaxy will be to face the Reapers but I could be mistaken.

    Either way I'm pumped!

And yeah I don't play videogames to see ugly people so I really don't mind the way Ashley and Liara look. Ashley was a racist loser anyways IMO so she's not even alive in more than half my Shepards.

probably today, after some kind soul post it

the mp will have an impact in the co op missions in the galaxy at war mini game, the affect is the readiness of the council and non council forces in the battle against the reapers. thus a more prepared state would be better in the end game.

however there are some comments made by casey, that led me to believe that it will be more of an optional aspect of the game, meaning that it wont be a make or break feature, I do believe that it will be harder to get the highest level of achievements without the mp, much like the suicide mission in me2 was difficult to do without some characters and without the loyalty of some, well at least without everyone dying and still getting the no one left behind achievement

I can't even download this. "Service temporarily unavailable" :(

Also annoys me to no end that there is no native 360 controller support in the PC version because BioWare, by their own admission, "ran out of time." I know someone will make a profile for Pinnacle that works with it like they did for the other two, but come on, it's a console port ffs. Doesn't it take less time to leave controller support that's already there in the 360 version in, than to take it out?

How is it a console port when it it's being developed on the 360, PS3 and PC? Isn't a port when a game is released on PS3 and 360 first than a few months later it gets released on the PC.

No, because the game does not have an identical control scheme on the PC as it does on consoles, if I understand it correctly. There's more control options available (particularly with individually controlling powers of teammates and the like) with the PC version. I certainly know that that was true for Dragon Age: Origins, and I thought it was true of the Mass Effect franchise as well.

Enough with talking about sexual slurs or comparing hotness between the female characters from game to game. I've let a lot slide so far but from here on out talk about the gameplay, not the political correctness of how voluptuous the female characters in the game look.

If you're confused then read the forum rules. Thanks.

If anyone is using sexual slurs, I missed it.

I've read the TOS, and honestly, I don't see how discussions of how they changed the look of characters from previous games in the series (either positive comments, such as response #16, or negative comments, such as response #29) violate the TOS. Nobody is talking about intercourse or anything; we're talking with whether or not we like how characters are portrayed. Which, in a role-playing game, is part of the game just as much as the shooting mechanics are.

I think this will be the game to break my controller playing habit that is so hard to kick, I played the demo for the first time using a mouse and keyboard and surprisingly enough I liked the responsiveness from looking around with a mouse as supposed to joysticks, I have to play the demo again to decide on it, it just runs so much better on pc than it does on xbox 360 or ps3, my idiot friend wanted to do a comparison with the ps3 version against my pc lol lets just say that ps3 was struggling to display the cutscenes in the game while the pc ran smoothly with no hiccups

Once you go mouse, you'll never go back. It's an entirely different level of precision.

Also, having a full keyboard to govern biotic and tech powers allows you a lot more freedom than a console controller would.

There is a mature way of doing it and an immature way. The inappropriate stuff has been removed already. I gather you can figure out for yourself what is appropriate or not. I'm just reminding everybody to keep it mature (and I don't mean 17+).

@MPIXAPP Hi MPIXAPP! I have the same laptop Dell N5110 with the same specs. I play heavy games very often on the highest possible detail where it can give me playable frame rates. I have issues with this laptop. When in a game after some amount of time it shuts down. I have monitored the temps and the temps go too high that the system forces shutdown. When ever I run Furmark laptop shuts down after around 5 minutes or so. The possible workaround I did was to limit the processor usage to 80% so that it doesn't triggers speedstep which results in sustainable temps. I wanted to ask you that have you encountered any such problem with your laptop? I signed up on this forum just for asking you. Thanks

@MPIXAPP Thanks for your reply. Are you using a cooler? I keep the vents open, I even gave some space under the laptop to get better air flow and I have this problem after 1 month of purchase when I started playing GTA4 etc. Have you tried playing games without cooler if you are using one? Have you turned off turboboost?

Well my GPU reaches 90C while playing GTA4 , but In any other game like Mass Effect 3 It doesn't exceed 85C.

I have a cooler and I haven't turned off turboboost.

I tried it on my E-350 and at native 1366x768 it was like 10-12 FPS. Running 1024x576 it ran at about 16-18 fps. So it'd be ok in a pinch I guess, but inadvisable.

PFffff.I am 18 level vanguard and i have noo chance of surviving on silver mision. This class must be named Kamikaze. With skills that you have you can do only one thing.Smashing yourself heroically in group of bad guys make a big nova splash, kiling 1 or 2, drain your all barier and then you are furiously shoted from the angry survivors.Very nice. And if you have luck you can try to shot one or two before you die.Kiling someone is unlikely ,because with the shotgun main gun of this class you only scrach the bots but death on the other hand is certain. You can try to search for single victim ,but the enemy almost every time is in group. One game i wach how one infiltrator kill all the bad guys alone with oposite on the vanguard taktiks sneack clock and kill from the distans.

No offence but if you know what you're doing a vanguard can be a very powerful and valuable part of any team. I happen to be using the vangaird lately and I find it incredibly hard to die. Your biotic charge practicly makes you a god. Every time you use it you regain 50% of your shields. And if you upgrade it you get back 100% shield. Upgrade charge to increase the radius as well to help you you get more people with one hit. Also upgrade your charge to increase your weapon damage. Now toss out the shotgun bc they are too heavy and use the heavy pistol instead. This will give you 200% power recharge speed allowing you to use your biotic charge almost immediately after a previous charge. This allows you to charge into a group of enemies, take a few shots with your pistol and then charge again when your shields drop which will fully recharge them. This makes you very powerful and hard to kill. No other class can instantly recharge their shields without using equipment. Plus charge is great for rushing to a downed teammate and healing them just before that pesky enemy executes them. And id also like to point out that the heavy pistol does more damage than assault rifles while still weighing less, it just holds less total ammo which isn't a big deal considering how many ammo crates are scattered throughout the maps

I've only played as a soldier. Every weapon is available to the soldier. I don't think the other classes can use all the weapons.

Depends what you mean by most powerful. Soldiers have the highest health and shields so they are harder to kill. This also have frag grenade which is very strong and adrenaline rush which makes their weapons do more damage while its active. But any class can use any weapon in mass effect 3and so it really depends on what powers you like and what kind of combat you prefer. Engineers and adepts are good support classes bc they have less health and shields but their powers focus on immobilizing enemies or taking down defenses such as armor or shields. But don't expect to run out in the open alone and servive for long. Vanguards are good fir both styles bc you can quickly recharge your shields with charge and take out small groups of the enemies at a time or use some of their other powers to keep your distance and support. Sentinels are good as well bc they have tech armor to help them survive but have powers to take down defenses as well. So again it really depends on your play style and how you use each class

BlackOut is right. Charge isn't something to use in order to enter combat; it's something you use once you enter combat because it attacks and heals simultaneously. I'm no good at using it successfully, but I've seen lots of people online be very effective with it.

As to the question of which class is strongest, I don't think there is one. Instead, I think a mix of classes in your squad, and teamwork between the players, is really what's key. BioWare did a good job balancing the classes.

I just started Mass Effect 2! I'm liking it so far. Never did complete Mass Effect 1, was more like Elevator Effect 1 and finding your way around became a bit annoying. But so far I'm liking ME2. If it keeps this up ME3 should be doubly fun!

I'm only 4 hrs into ME2, and I bought it maybe 9 months ago! Haven't started my ME1. I maxxed out my graphics on ME2 and it was better than the ME3 demo. Not impressed with the ME3 demo, so I'll play my ME1 & ME2 first to completion or so until I buy ME3, maybe at $20 to $25 or so... Don't mind if I have to wait 9 months... I have a ton of unplayed games I bought, like The Witcher 2 and AC 2 & Brotherhood and Far Cry 2.

ME3 seem like the same gameplay as ME2 but different storyline. Noticed the demo had some same characters.

Yeah, ME1 deserves credit for creating a compelling, detailed sci-fi world out of whole cloth, but in terms of combat, character development, and pacing, ME2 is much more compelling to actually play. Just my opinion; some people like the more-detailed leveling system in ME1.

ME3's story line picks up where ME2's left off, just as ME2's picked up where ME1 left off. ME3's plot will make more sense when you finish ME2.

I just looked up ME1 on my Steam Page and it's a great enough graphics game to keep me interested, - released in May 2008... good enough graphics during those times. Maybe I'll start playing it soon... Need to search for game guides on it first.

It's very funny... I never knew about the Mass Effect Series until 2011 and I was very surprised when IGN gave it Game of the Year or All Time Greatest game status. So that's when I bought ME1 and ME2 during summer 2011 Steam Sale.

ME1 sets a great stage; ME2 utilizes that stage and introduces great gameplay and better-developed characters. Playing either ME1 or ME2 without the other, you'll come off with the impression that they're good-yet-overhyped. Play ME1 then ME2, and by the end of ME2, you'll most likely agree that it deserves every award it won.

As to charge, watch and learn. To paraphrase the cop buddy movie Bad Boys, "Now that's how you're supposed to charge! From now on, that's how you charge!"

Except that is for mass effect two - in the multiplayer sections, you certainly don't want to apply singleplayer methods from an older game with completely different balance!

Personally though, on silver the vanguard is not that hard to play, you just must not charge into a heavy ball of enemies without thinking - only do that if you already know how you'll get out.
However... it is not my favourite class to play, simply because on a good 3/4ths of all games I play as vanguard, it inevitably glitches out due to charge and either starts spazzing me around or drops off the map entirely. :| Very bad bug.

You're right, it's ME2, not ME3, but the same concept applies. Charge an outlier, shotgun at point blank, charge an outlier, shotgun at point blank. You keep hitting stragglers and drawing them off while using charge to recover health from the main group shooting you. You never charge right into the main group, and that's what the previous poster appeared to be doing.

I've had some bugginess as an engineer as well--getting stuck in the environments. I'm assuming that this is just a demo issue, as ME2 was very stable and bug-free.

I still think using the M-5 Phalanx heavy pistol on a vangaurd is better than using a shotgun. it will let your charge ability recharge so fast that even if you did charge into a group of enemies you wouldn't die because you could just use charge again and refill your shields. plus if you are using a drell with cluster grenade you can take out a decent amount of enemies with a charge + cluster grenade combo. again I am talking about mass effect 3 not 1 or 2. I tried a vangaurd in mass effect 2 and found myself dying too easily. In my opinion, the vangaurd class got a serious upgrade in the 3rd game.

I also encountered that environment glitch. However it turned out to be very useful because it made everyone's shields regen so fast that enemeis couldnt kill you. but honestly for a demo and their first time doing multiplayer for the mass effect series i was very pleased with how it turned out and in my opinion how few bugs it had.

That makes me wonder if they would ever consider making a movie.
