Yep, chunk errors. Those are client-side, and unfortunately there's really nothing you can do about them except log out and log back in when you see them.
Not the key itself, but the command. It happens every so often, and only in Minecraft. Usually when I'm carrying diamonds near lava.![]()

yeah i haven't been on lately, ive been putting neon lamps on my friends and my skateboard so we be pimpin, tokyo drift style.
-
Yeah, I still need money for one first. Feel free to donate!
-
Yes chunk errors. Exit and restart the game.
-
I have chunk errors every so often. I actually love them. If you can't figure out why then you fail at minecraft. Also, I have an issue where while in the server, about every 5-15 minutes, my whole minecraft program freezes up for about 10 seconds and I have to wait. It's usually ok since I'll take a sip of beer BUT I HAVE NO BEER RIGHT NOW. Lol all caps rage. Aannyways I just thought DEagleson should know.
I've been playing a bit of battlefield bad company 2 and minecraft singleplayer with the yogbox mod pack installed and that's a blast. You have to figure out which mods your computer can run if you have a slower computer though. I wouldn't consider my computer slow, but I still couldn't run the millenaire and seasons mods. I love the new items and crazy dungeons that the mods bring. Not to mention elemental creepers and MO' Creatures mods. Those fire creepers SCARE THE HELL out of me... And the cute purple ones don't attack
. I heard if you feed them sulphur or sulphur crystals (mod item), you can make their frown into a smile, and they'll go around making mini explosions for you attacking your enemies
Ohh I can't forget the inventory mod where you can auto-sort items in chests and your inventory (SOO USEFUL), and also the little double door mod where double doors both open up by hitting one (also pretty useful)
Anyway I may check in soon but for now I'm gonna go play some bad company 2. We need more activity in this server. -

I don't like them because even though they let you see down into the ground, they can make it impossible to transverse certain areas (especially bodies of water). And it really sucks when the error is right in front of your /home before you realized it, and used the command
.
-
Nothing i can do about your client freezing.
Lets hope Mojang does some network improvements in 1.8 at least. -
Assuming you're using on a 64-bit version of Windows, you have to manually install 64-bit Java. The default installation is 32-bit, and while it *usually* works, it does occasionally lead to such things as freezing like you described, or random crashes. Since I installed 64-bit Java a few months ago, I haven't had a single Minecraft crash, where I used to have at least one every play session.
-
Its pretty rare for a chunk error to happen in front of your house. But all you have to do is log out and back in (which takes all of 5 seconds)
@Mastershroom I'm pretty sure I installed the 64 bit version of minecraft, but ill try installing the 64 bit version of java. But its weird because it doesn't happen at all on single player, just in the MP server. -
AWWWW!!!!!
You have to feed it sulphur for it to be your pet and get that heart on it's chest. But he won't attack you. It explodes but it doesn't destroy blocks or kill itself. It insta-kills your enemies. I wuv him he's my snuggle buddy
-
I don't think there is a separate 64-bit version of Minecraft...at least, on the downloads page of the official site, there's just one Minecraft.exe
-
Guess you need to launch Minecraft.jar through Java 7 x64 or something.
At least thats what i do with my server install, as i opted for the regular .jar instead of MinecraftServer.exe. -
Ok ill try that. Does anyone know if its possible to have 2 or more seperate minecraft directories with different saves and different mods?
EDIT: Aaaarrrggghhh stupid creeper pet exploded a golden record I was about to pick up! -
Hey guys, wanted your opinion on something. I'm considering setting up a server. I have an older P4 HT desktop I'm not using, and I can host a server on it pretty easily. I want to use it to put challenge maps on it for us to play use. The maps would be restarted often, so there would be no point in building in it. Think of it as an add-on to Deagle's server. What do you guys think?
-
Doesent hurt. :3
Im bored with Minecraft and Notch & Co keeps teasing us with Adventure Update.
But if you want lightweight OS for Minecraft server check this out.
Mine OS - easy minecraft hosting solution -
I'm a little bored with it too. SO, I went ahead and set it up. Its stupid simple right now, just an empty seed, but I'm still tweaking a few little things. I'll add some plugins like myhome and eventually setup a whitelist. I might not need to, though, since there will be nothing to grief. Any requests on maps? I'm considering EscapeCraft, or Paradox.
-
Im running SimpleServer wrapper over MinecraftServer.jar so the player connects to SimpleServer, who then connects you to the actual server.
Gives you all the basic commands, and its pretty lightweight.
[Software] SimpleServer Wrapper 8.2.3 [1.7.3] - Minecraft Forum -
If you guys want to, i could add some dungeons to the current map with the tool here.
[1.7.3] MCDungeon v0.5.2 - Minecraft Forum
Would bring some exitement to the game for sure, and once the dungeon is cleared out it would make for one sweet hideout. -
Sounds like a good idea to me! And, I'm trying SimpleServer right now, seems like it'll be pretty easy to use.
-
Il take the map from the SMP server and check if it will work, and if it doesent overwrite any buildings ingame it should be okay.
-
Sweet. Mind checking my server to see if you can connect and it runs okay?
192.168.2.2:25565
SimpleServer is up and running, but I haven't changed anything else yet. -
Cant connect to your server when you got a local ip.
You need your internet ip.
What's My IP Address? Networking Tools & More
Then if i cannot connect you also need to port forward. -
I por tforwarded already, that website gave me 76.180.92.213. I could connect to that from my laptop, but its on the same network, so I figure thats why.

Please suggest maps to put on. Thanks!

Try this mod guys, it's fantastic.
[1.7.3] Water Shader alpha v3 - Minecraft Forum
Makes Minecraft 80% more serene and beautiful. -
Seems to cause heavy flickering on my notebook when buildings far away is reflected. D;
While it does cut my fps from 200+ to 30 i think it does add something extra to the game.
Il retry it once its had some more work done. -
Really? My framerate dropped only maybe 10% with the mod (probably less once the mod is more optimized). Also I don't experience any flickering issues at all.
-
Running Far render, smooth lightning and Fancy graphics now, and the flickering is gone, seems its a knows issue when you use Advanced OpenGL.
My FPS is around 100 +- 20 fps so im okay with the Water shading mod now.
-
I saw a vacant bed and thought it would be acceptable to join the community and so I did.
-
With the hunger system and non-respawning mobs in 1.8, we'll need huge farms and livestock breeding fields once the patch is out and we start a new SMP map.
-
Enjoy your stay.
I dont know if vv1.8 adds all the Adventure stuff yet, so might not need to restart the map, il just delete unused chunks and let it reload with 1.8 biomes instead.
Might look fugly but at least il keep most of the playerbase happy. -
@DEagleson
Thank you.
It seems most of the stuff has already been done on this map however. -
When is this?? I have buried treasure off in the distance!
-
I'm with The Garfield on this one -- I think the only fun thing with Minecraft after a map is played for a long time, is to start anew.
Kind of like how Diablo II has ladder resets every half-year; that allows for people to come back to the game and replay.
A map gets boring as hell when every mega-building has been built... -
Compared to the old NBR server, theres actually very little here.
-
Agreed.
Still keep backups of the old maps, so il might upload the old one with all the crazy buildings so you can explore in singleplayer.
As on now most of the playerbase sticks around the spawn area, not unlike the old where we had warps to the other side of the map. -
I have a backup too. That map was just everywhere, I mean, snow shrine was like, a 40 minute walk from spawn.
-
If only small amounts of the current map is actually explored/generated, we could like build great walls that separate 1.8 chunks from 1.73 chunks when the update comes. It'd be cool.
-
That could be really cool! Or, I could host this map for the traditional builders. Who knows. I think the walls would be sweeeet.
-
Awesome idea is awesome.
-
Such a fun time tonight with: Eagleson, Luigi, and Steffen
I look forward towards our next adventure!
-
Although, hear me out...
If the option or moddability for increased game ceiling block height (up to 256 or even 512 blocks instead of current 64+64=128 height) is added in 1.80, I think that really outweighs the need to preserve the current map.
If this is not implemented, however, then the current map is worth keeping. -
Jerg, I agree. I would love to have a house resting at 512 height instead of my current 110.
-
I think most players on the server would like higher buildspace, so we had deeper oceans, higher mountains ect.
Mojang better hire more devs or ditch Scrolls.
If Xbox release gets faster updates im gonna cry. ;( -
I think they shouldn't bether with 360 until the PC game is out, and the Android and iOS versions are as well. (Android meaning all platforms, not just Xperia Play) The mobile market is larger than the 360 market, and, the PC version has 3 million+ people. They need more devs... Not like they're not rolling in cash..
-
Damn looks like 1.80 won't be released this Thursday (Jeb_ tweeted that), instead it will probably be next week instead.
-
Hey, at least its within this month. I was prepared for the beginning of October.
-
Perfectly playable 1.8 beta leak
http://assets.minecraft.net/1_8-pre/minecraft.jar
Notch acknowledged this on his twitter and said everyone's free to test it.
Just download that and replace (or just rename the old minecraft.jar first). -
