yea, all of the texture packs except default will need to be re-patched. It shouldn't' take them too long...just as long as notch doesn't release another 4 updates in one day, lol.

Minecraft really hates me, now the server seems broken for me. I'm in some area and it doesn't seem to load the rest of the map so, I find the edge of the world but can see some land further off in the distance with a huge gap of nothingness between them. Also, if I mine something, it appears back in a few seconds. It was doing this earlier so I logged off for several hours and it's still doing it now.

We really need warp back as sometimes getting across the realm is pretty treacherous terrain-wise. Now I need to get my gear back somehow...

Must wait for a stable release of Craftbukkit until the devs bother updating their plugins.
I can however enable basic support with the addition of HomeBukkit and ScrapBukkit.

    That's all we really need.

If you're going to be in a place for awhile, make it home. You can always go back to spawn with a death, right?

Also..instead of complaining about the long haul and difficult trek *cough*star_forge*cough*, why not just work on the infrastructure first silly? :p

Didn't the server have automatic healing because it doesn't work now.

Edit: is it because monsters are on now?

Yep, in Peaceful mode you regenerate health. When monsters are enabled you have to heal yourself.

I've started a new project, which I like to call "Illuminate F***ing Everything". I'm basically putting torches all over every road and all the surrounding areas, and in the vicinity of everyone's constructions, to minimize ambushes by monsters at night. It'll be nice to be able to work at night without worrying about getting exploded by a Creeper.

The command to set your home location is /sethome name. /home is the teleport command to go to that home, so it thinks you're trying to teleport to a home named "set".

Looks like we may get a new bugfix release today.
My question is if we should update the server or keep it like its now.
A update will kill Bukkit and i will of course disable mobs again.

Notch confirmed that slow chunk loading, tool glitch & lighting are the worst bugs atm.
May also see a fix for Nethergates but i think they work quite good as of now.

The lighting is the one that really really really bugs me. You have to light a torch every 3 blocks deep if you're mining for the light to refresh.

also, the chest bug (shift + click inside a full chest) crashes your game, and deletes the item you were trying to transfer

Also when you dig with a tool it randomly disappears. (I think thats what Notch meant by the "tool glitch") So far I've had a diamond sword (SMP) and an iron pickaxe (single player) disappear when both had near-full durability.

I was on earlier yesterday did some finishing touches to the mine cart system, relized that you move too fast coming from old spawn to stop on the switch stations. I got that fixed now and tested a few round trips.

Going to demo some of Deagles system to have a direct rout from new spawn to deagle island.

If you guys are missing stuff, Deagle, his brother, Mastershroom and myself can help replace it.

I am only using spawning to replace items lost to bug or to build community supporting items.

For my own personal building I will be farming for my stuff like normal.

Helping players or the minecart network is okay.

And il update the server now, just come home from watching The Hangover 2.

Hey guys, just a little something from me.

    Texture Pack: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14769918/Vicious Doku.zip

Its based on DokuCraft High 1.9Beta.

I added a few missing textures for 1.6 and edited a few of the existing ones (like swords)

I have not spent much time on it yet, but may do so in the future. At any rate check it out and tell me what you think.

P.S. You need to patch your game for HD textures first before it works. After you patched the game just put the entire .zip file in the texture pack folder for the game.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of joining Minecraft. I've played it, and it's so addicting, but I don't know if its worth $22. Will the cost be for the entire lifespan of the game, even after it's released?

Pro-tip #1: be as creative as you can. The game is boring as hell to those who like to be led-on by the game (e.g. story-driven RPGs). Here it's as fun as what you put in.

Pro-tip #2: never dig straight down

Pro-tip #3: if you are looking for diamonds, dig 1x2 or 1x3 shafts at the 15th block level from lowest bedrock level, to avoid 99% of lava as well as finding the most diamond-retaining caves.

I actually have a nice mining tech that uses #2 I dig directly down 2 blocks at a time so I do not fall and I can find natural caves easy, and because I have a hole open all the way to the surface I need no torches as the sun lights the way down unless I find a cave.

Remind me to give you my screen :p Cant handle all the brightness so i had to turn it down years ago, the negative thing about it is that i need to place torches every 5 blocks :p

Also, just joined the server (thanks for the add DEagleson ;p), looks like people already had a few ideas of what to build eh ? :p Plus Ive seen rain for the first time!

I dunno, it takes FOREVER to make or build anything. Not sure how you guys were able to build castles and brick with glass houses and such. I just made four stone blocks and I was proud of myself, lol. I only get free time in 15-30 minute increments, and frequently that's interrupted free time, so I probably can't dedicate as much time as I need to get "good" at this game.

Well the good thing is that you do not have to dedicate time to the game, just play when you can and have fun.

Building stuff actually goes pretty fast once you get the hang of it, I was supprised to see how much of the Viking Kingdom I got done on my very first day of minecraft.

The mining takes longer than the building for sure.

The longest mining I ever did was the pit under the waterfall to the Viking Kingdom, I did it all by hand and it was an all day affair.

A few tips that I wish I knew:

When you are building by standing ontop of a block if you hold shift you cant walk off the edge, this makes it much much much easier to build skyrise style. If I had known this I could have built my floating island way faster and easier.

At first I used this technique by strafing off the ledge then looking down and at the side of the block I was standing on to place the next block, this is how I was having to do it before I knew about shift. But just the other day I found that walking backwards off the block and looking down is way faster because you can walk all the way back to the point where you would fall and place the block with your cursor in a static position so you do not have to move the cursor at all and can build way faster.

I should fraps that and put it on youtube as a tut.
