I was thinking it would be nice to have a couple launch areas in case your cart gets stopped, kind of off to the side so you don't have to walk so far. Just take your cart with you, put it on the side track, and then push the button.

 

But then it has to connect to the track and would cause you to go the wrong way.

You should have no reason to not ride the whole way and if you do just attack the cart while your in it.

If bad luck happens and a person or mob stops you mid ride just put the cart on the track near a booster push it a bit and then hop in the ol' fashioned way.

You will crawl forward but when you hit the booster it will get you up to speed.

 

Transporting a squid long distance is kind of a pain but I now have an aquarium with a pet squid.

 

How do you transport a squid?

 

Get it onto land and into a mine cart.

That giant hole is called a "chunk error", and it's basically what you get when a chunk of the map fails to render on your client; you see a giant hole from the bottom of the world to the very top. These usually disappear if you log out and log back in. Since it's entirely a client-side error, nothing will happen if you "fall" into it; you'll just kinda be glitched in one spot since the server is telling your client that you're standing on land that the client doesn't think exists.

Don't squids de-spawn when you log out?

 

Nope, he's (or she) been there for several hours now most of which I haven't been online. According to the wiki, squids don't disappear when you go far from it, log out, or restart the server.

Nope, it's a bug in the game itself. It happens to everyone, regardless of MC version, Java version, OS, etc.

Like I say, just log out and log back in. It takes all of two seconds and it pretty much always gets rid of any visible chunk errors.

 

The Party Mansion is done. I might expand on it if space is needed since I feel it is small at the moment. Also, I might actually continue to mine the core resources like I did for the initial phase of construction to build a personal section of the mansion for myself if things get rowdy up there.

Well I have officially joined Deagle Island.

I have a new peaceful home in the neighborhood over the water.

It is mostly done but I still have work to do on the outside area and then some interior decorating.

Ack, my squid died. All was left was 3 ink sacs at the bottom of the tank. I wonder if it was those damn creepers?

 

Was your tank exposed to an area where a creeper could of gotten in?

Is there a way of playing it faster one a low-specced laptop like my netbook? Graphics are turned down to lowest already.

 

What IGP is your netbook running on?

 

It's an Intel GMA 3150

 

Could be a badmanner player if anything. If a creeper did this you'd see some obvious nearby structural damage.

 

The only thing I can think of is try to find the latest Intel IGP drivers and pray for the best. Intel IGP's before Arrandales are known to be very bad at OpenGL and Minecraft is OpenGL-based (Java) so...

 

It's on the latest one sadly. I'm currently finding low-res texture packs as a substitute...but none avail for the new 1.6.4 MC.

 

Well, no, but I was having some creeper trouble before with them blowing up my house but I think it was still alive after I rebuilt and logged out.

Maybe, but to get into the tank, you have to damage my house. I guess they could have fixed it back up.

I don't know how it died, maybe somehow it was able to damage itself in the tank.

 

Water nullfies explosions anyway. Seriously, try using TNT to blow something up underwater. Definitely not a creeper.

You in the game? I can show you. If not that the rail from the current spawn and just ride there. You will see it as you ride there. Just note that the current station at the island is a bit borked so make sure you can stop the cart quickly enough!

 

ok i fixed the ugly floor in my underwater area, added 1 more entrance and connected the tunnel htwingnut had there to my underwater area in the nicest way i could think of.

last time i was on i just saw a sign that said future viking castle. now a big structure is there if only you could build stuff that fast in real life

 

Hey, yeah, thanks. Was trying to come up with a good way to connect tunnels. I'll work on "beautifying" it in the future. Now there's at least a passage. You don't know how many times I died from drowning trying to make that little area that I did, lol. BTW, is there a way to automatically spawn carts at the main island? They seem to disappear quickly.

 

I fixed that station at the island last night.

Now no more playing with TNT near the rails ok???

Need more carts though please. Seem to always be empty whenever I go back to main spawn. Is there a way to spawn infinite carts from the dispenser?

Nope, dispensers can only dispense what's in their inventory. They're basically chests that throw their contents out when activated.

As for gunpowder, you can't really do anything with it on its own; you need 5 gunpowder and 4 sand to make a block of TNT. That's when it gets fun
